And so it happened again again, to my dismay I discovered that I was 2 days too late to reply and that the other new thread had been closed for further replies, falling to the 1 month rule, this is stating to annoy me.

But again, will try to keep more tack on time in the future.

Stormwind Poetry Appreciation Society is a poetry club run by Bertel Wobblespring, who every second Friday of each month hosts a meeting, open for all to participate in.

The purpose of these meetings are to give everyone who might have interest in poetry a chance to share their passion.

Just show up to one of the meetings, leave a comment in this thread, or send an in-game mail to Bertel with a sample of your work.

In case you are unable to attend the meeting but still want your poem presented Bertel will gladly recite it for you if you send a copy of it to him in beforehand.

Everyone is welcome, even if just to spectate and listen.

From the first meeting:

Come to the first ever meeting in the new started Stormwind Poetry Appreciation Society, and share your poems and songs or just show your support and sit in to spectate and listen.

Everything is acceptable, be it your favorite poem or your own song.

OOC details: Just show up or send an in-game mail to Bertel with a sample of your work.

Place: At the back of Mage District in Stormwind at the pond.

Time: Thursday 8/5 20.00 (8.00 Pm) sever time.

!! Important Note !!!

I have decided that from now on every second month the poetry meeting will move to Dalaren, though still being held in Stormwind as usual in the months between, that is March, May, July e.t.c in Dalaran, and April, June, August e.t.c in Stormwind, to give Horde people a chance to share their enthusiasm for poetry as well.

Next meeting will be Friday the 14th of April at 8 PM [server time] at the upper part of Stormwind Park [Lion’s Rest], at the big tree surrounded by benches and the small well with the fountain shaped as a lion head, near Mage District.

Next meeting will be Friday the 12th of November at 8Pm (server time) in Dalaran (Legion), at the area around the statue of Archmage Antonidas, on the right from Krasus’ Landing.

Where Bertel will recite his brand new all original Hallow’s End themed poem (even if a little out of season at that point), and if there is time, depending on how many other contributors show up, yet another brand new poem of his.

Also note that Horde people are very welcome

The Hallow Deal

Witches brew their poisoned potions
Rub your eyes with evil lotion
Seeing what you can’t believe
Confused delusions you perceive
Paranoid you scream deceive
Twisted visions witch’s achieved
Worst of wishes, all for free

Pumpkins tumbling from the fields
Part of the cursed Hallow deal
Headless Horseman on the rise
Trick or treat, let’s roll the dice
Snake eyes on the wall appear
Confirming all your worst of fears
Ghosts and ghastly skeletons
Haunt you like they’re never done

A frozen scream one stormy night
Answering their hollow call
Who are they?
You’ll never know
Fear is high and spirit’s low
Mystic fires in the fog
Someone cry, a ghostly sob
Not sure just how you got astray
Desperate you scream and pray
Out of your senses, in dismay
Suddenly, what seems from nowhere
A tall dark figure does appear
You look in fright at your own shadow
As he proclaims the end of hallow:

Step inside, you’re all invited
Infernal fires are ignited
Lighting up the creepy dance hall
Bloody limbs nailed to the wall
Your mask stuck to your face forever
Fever visions, leaving never
Trapped inside this carnival
Contorting faces, what a ball

Drenched in sweat you wake up screaming
Fear from your eyes are desperately beaming
Clenching to your pillow tight
Exclaiming then a deep felt sigh
Relieved from all the evil dreaming
Unaware that just bellow the bed you lie in
Wicket monster eyes are gleaming

Bertel will open the meeting with his original Winter Veil poem “A Winter Veil’s Blessing”, and he will later recite another original Winter Veil themed poem, send to him by someone else.

If there is time, depending on how many other contributers show up, he has yet another original poems of his to recite, if not, which seems most likely, that will have to wait till the January meeting in Dalaren next month.

Snowfall, snow fights, jingle bells
Great Grandfather’s wondrous spell
Pine trees clad in shining garbs
Bards and Val’kyrs playing harps

Winter Veil in Titan halls
Winter Veil in merchant stalls
Joyous bliss to small and tall
Celebration, festive balls

Heed the call of winter’s coming
Great Grandfather’s mighty summon
Little Helpers making sure
Splendour shines on rich and poor

Presents shared throughout the land
On the Titan’s kind command

Bertel has been hired to perform an about half an hour recitation of his poems at The Feast of the Scribes event in Dalaran [Legion] at 21:00 [server time], the event starts at 20:00 [server time], this coming Wednesday the 26th of January.

It would be nice to see some of you there.
