Around various areas in the Mage’s Quarter of Stormwind and in Dalaran, are pasted notices on which the following is written:

Under the approval of the authorities of Stormwind, the The Arcane Ring is a newly established order that seeks to bring individuals together to learn, train, and research in any field of magic. The order believes in the sharing of all knowledge, under strict supervision as necessary, for ignorance serves no purpose for us as scholars and as loyalists of the Alliance to withold that which can be learnt for further knowledge, especially for generations to come. Be you a wielder of the divine, or a student of the arcane, or one who has interests in the fields of fel or shadow, or be you a novice seeking a teacher in the right path, you are welcome to join us. Seek us out at the Mage Quarter in Stormwind.”

OOC information:

The Arcane Ring is an Alliance-aligned order of spellcasters. We seek to bring spellcaster rpers together for the purpose of gathering knowledge and learning from one another. This is not restricted to only mages and only the arcane, but also priests, warlocks, or any character with an open mind who is willing to learn.

There are no strict hierarchies, but the order ranks are:
Magister - This is currently held by Xolius Shadowstare. He oversees the running of the order.
Masters - individuals who are established seniors and specialists in their chosen field of spellcasting. They act as trainers, teachers and lecturers. OOCly, the Magister and Masters are the GM and officers respectively.

The core ranks are:
Battlecaster - from offensive-specialised spellcasters to spellblades/spellbows to combat healers. They may also have military experience and may command members undertaking missions where appropriate.
Spellweaver - generalists in their chosen magical field.
Scholar - academics who are more research-orientated.
Initiate - those who are newly joined to the order.
Apprentice - those who are still learning in their chosen field of magic.

We will start accepting such characters once we have enough trainers. These are by default the Masters, though anyone of the core rank may also take students under supervision of a Master. Associates - are not themselves part of the order, but assist it. The events of the guild will centre around training, research, and exploration. We aim to provide sessions of teaching in the form of lectures and practical training sessions. There will also be over-arching storylines in the form of artifact searching for the order itself, as well as any potential missions assigned to us by Alliance authorities, which can and do include combat and/or subterfuge.
