Not everything needs to be private, in my opinion. It is a good thing that this is being discussed on the forums, seeing as the intent is to work on the community as a whole.I am sure Andoril wants to achieve that goal, still.
A good leader knows that the teamâs success is his success.
The original question was posed by Mythundis, who is the moderator of the channel but isnât the channel.
Iâm not in Seeds of Kalimdor, Aeneon isnât, Iâm not certain if Nalyth is, Lotheridan certainly isnât. I think itâs a little unfair to use it as a beating stick.
But regardless, this isnât relevant to the discussion so Iâll leave it at that - I think anything I would have to say regarding how CoT can make itself more accessible to roleplayers who arenât interested in putting themselves in Discord groups has been said already.
Andoril seems to have taken it on board well, so Iâll keep an eye out for new events/advertisements here and on AA
Absolutely disagreed. Not only does it look look good for your initiative if you can fruitfully refute or work around feedback, itâs also not something that just gets buried under a pile of message. The forums are a place where you (normally) think your messages through; words mean more here than on Discord, because theyâre just not as forgettable.
Additionally, this is the forum thread of the Covenant of Teldrassil - logically, this is where people can post not only their feedback or criticism, but also praise.
I may be the Admin of said server, but it is silly that you assume Seeds of Kalimdor has anything to do with this. I am not Seeds of Kalimdor and, since you mentioned there were several of CoT in Seeds, I implore you to go and read the messages in the server. Youâll find that the Covenant was discussed not even once.
The subject was about exposure, not about where people belong to (not all of them even)
Contrary to what people believe, not everything is some ill meaning shadow; this may be Argent Dawn but I doubt Mythundis - or the people agreeing with him - has some ill design at work as you seemingly imply here.
Edit: As an addition, I have no horse in this race so to speak. I donât roleplay lowborne (scum).
Well, this escalated quickly. Especially considering Iâve already stated weâre gonna be more proactive in the forums. This was a bit of a silly waste of time, now wasnât it? Invariably, the point is to ensure there is RP for -all-. Weâve received criticism, Iâve taken it on board, it will be utilised. We might use the Forums -less- than others, but weâre still going to use them. Because the logic displayed was valid. And to be honest, if we truly wanted to be exclusive. This post wouldnât exist, and the door would not be open. Since it remains, albeit with some evident discrepancies, there is still potential for this to work, which Iâd personally like.
The Myrmidon and Mythundis raise a valid point. When we have events that are open to the Public and are not guild focused personal kit, Iâm gonna post them here, and reach out to the guilds applicable to such. For example, and I really should mention them. I want to run an event about the Ebb and Flow of the states of Mother Moon, what with the whole Blackmoon shindig comparative to Mother Moonâs usual grace and guidance. The key guild, in my mind, to reach out to there first, is The Handmaidens of Elune, and co-run it with them, then we make it public, and Iâll post about it on the Forums. Content, above all else, is king.
Despite whatever this devolved into, the point, to my mind, going forward is to be proactive in cross interaction, and pumping out the content wanted so we have things to enjoy as much as idling in hubs such as Feathermoon or Astranaar.
Now I think both sides here are responsible for a needless escalation today, especially given Iâd already confirmed the feedback, which is valid, was going to be used. It is not my intention to become exclusive. But again, if we canât get along even now, weâre not going to get very far in making the Kaldorei RP scene something we can all flock to again, are we?
If such is alright, Iâd like to put this argument to bed, and get on with doing my part for the Kaldorei community right now? Iâve got planning to do, and I donât think propagating the issue further beyond this point is going to serve anyone save to make us all look a little like keyboard warriors. Weâre better than that, at least, I think so.
I donât mean to sound pretentious, and I often do, admittedly, but lets give it a go. Iâll pose some event ideas to those in the seeds best suited to help co-run them, that way we can promote some inclusivity that might mend the divide weâve seen now.
I donât know what folks will think of what Iâm saying, and Iâm probably rambling xD. But, hey, thatâs my plan going forward.
Ty for the feedback, sorry for⌠whatever that was, valid as both sides could be, meme tier aside.
Sorry for the derailment with my post, Andoril. I hope your community goes well.
It worries me a bit that people jump off so quickly to defend CoTâs approach to matters and end up putting CoT under a much worse light than we, readers, had at the start of the argument.
The issue raised was rather simple and Andoril seemed to be reasonable enough to understand and take the matter into consideration.
It IS an issue and more than once Iâve wondered what a large swathe of the nelf role-players are doing and up to since Iâve disconnected from the nelf scene but would love to one day return.
The fact that you are coming here to argue with several people while at the same time clearly making no effort to be productive seems, quite frankly, pointless.
Perhaps you could consider letting andoril speak in CoTâs stead rather than going aggro on other fellow role players.
The forums are already user unfriendly, we could live without users being (even more) unfriendly to one another.
So what youâre saying is that this shouldâve been a conversation between Andoril and Mythundis, rather than both their minions clashing about whoâs side is better.
I donât really think itâs fair for you to group everyone here that happens to agree with Mythundis together, let alone call them his âminionsâ. I doubt Andoril wants you to claim youâre his minion, either.
Stop it, really. Youâre not helping.
Thank you for responce Andoril.
OK I think you should stop posting, seriously.
Also big to Andoril, when an event pops up Iâll see if I canât join on my nelf at some point!
T-that was a joke, guys.
J-just a prank, bro!!!
Okay! Thatâs great and all!
Thank you for the post, Andoril, very cool.
But to start things off, I wonder â what is the current state of things as it is? So people can be updated first and foremost about where you are right now so they can roleplay with you!
Thank you for the response, Andoril! Itâs a shame the thread had to be derailed as it was, but Iâm glad we could come to an agreement of sorts. Looking forward to the future!
I think this is a fair point. I donât think/hope anyone has levelled the concern of it being intentionally exclusive, but itâs something to keep an eye on because speaking personally, I wouldnât have any idea about any events or RP I could attend if it isnât advertised on AA/the forums.
Most of the posters in this thread are invested in Night Elf RP - including myself - and the end-goal is to ensure that the Kalimdor scene is healthy/inclusive/active.
Online discussion just has a nasty habit of becoming confrontational, as itâs very easy to misread tone and take something constructive as an attack (and the best policy to avoid this is to respond to points while assuming they are intended to be helpful).
Iâm not in Seeds of Kalimdor (anymore) and I donât plan on joining any public Discord groups in the future, but I would love to see event ideas and discussion on this thread or on the forums in general.
I look forward to seeing what might come of it, wherever itâs discussed. I try to attend all the community events I can.
Right now? Many of us remain in Astranaar. A brief journey into Stonetalon was had by the Crescent Vigil and The Veiled Glaive specifically, but primarily, youâll find us in Astranaar up until the patch slows a little so we can get the ball rolling again. Beyond that? Things are going pretty well.
As per Loraâs suggestion here, I can toss a few ideas around here. The first, I mentioned earlier, could be something akin to a sermon based on the ideals and phases of Elune. The Night Warrior/Blackmoon and Mother Moon/regular Moon. The grace vs vengeance, and finding balance in both perhaps? Since balance appears to be one of the biggest prerogatives of the Kaldorei as a people. This could be a public event, say a sermon that opens into a theological and measured debate about it, guided by the Priestess RPers among our lot. My first port of call would naturally be The Handmaidens of Elune for that one, it could, hypothetically, even be hosted in the temple theyâve taken up residence in.
The second idea Iâve got bubbling, given that we also have a rather large quantity of militant orders among our bunch, could be a hosted set of bouts and training groups in Feathermoon (The big olâ military HQ) collaboratively led by those leading military groups. Civilian factors could offer guidance, supplies, refreshment, and discuss tales near the end of the event. perhaps?
The third one Iâve got in mind would be something along the lines of a collective gathering to discuss tales of the pasts, and how such influences the Kaldorei in the present. Do our traditions bind us even now, when we could argue the complacency/pride they have borne have proven to be the foil of the Kaldorei as a people on multiple occasions, culminating in the burning of Teldrassil. Another slightly theological event, but an open discussion with mild festivities, perhaps? Some honored day of rememberance and discussion so we might never repeat the mistakes that brought us to this point, this brink. (Hand of Cenarius/Handmaidens seem like good ports of call there)
My final one, such as it is, would be something akin to a Kaldorei RP scene wide RP event either in Feathermoon or potentially even going to Stormwind (EEK) deliberately to support those in refuge, establish camps in Feathermoon, druids growing subsidiaries to support the increased living population in the area, traveling to Stormwind to offer such kindness to those in refuge there and talk to the wider world to express that the Kaldorei are not abandoning their allies (As we have seen in Bfa, like it or not >.<) BUT that we do not forget the debt the Alliance owes us, talking to other guilds, getting to know the wider AD community in a civil manner and perhaps start to really show the Kaldorei scene is still beating strong. (Perhaps the most ambitious idea of the four). What are peopleâs thoughts?
