To whomever reads this;
After all that’s happened these past months, I’ll gladly grasp this opportunity with two hands, if to relish in both victory and peace, for as long as it may be gifted.
So I offer invitation to those of the great kingdom of Khaz Modan, The Highland Games beckons you once again. So be you Wildhammer, Bronzebeard, Dark Iron or our Gnomish cousins - mechanical or otherwise. Kirthaven will seek to host all within the lushest days of summer, in the good nature and friendly competition of the games.
We shall compete within the teams of each clan assembled, alongside the Gnomes. To partake in a series of challenges, greatly inspired by the hosting clan - Wildhammer.
I’ll take this time to forward mention the other races of our esteemed Alliance, though you’ll find no welcome to partake in the games themselves, I’ll hold no quarrel to spectating. Nor deny the chance to gorge yourselves on all the hearty grub and drink our well stocked pantries have to offer.
That’ll about do it.
I will eagerly await your responses -
For Khaz Modan!

OOC Information:
Greetings AD!
I’d like to extend an invitation to the folks of this fine server to come along on the 24th - 25th July 2020.
Venue: Kirthaven, Twilight Highlands
Start Times (Each Day): 19:00STI’ve hosted this same event a couple of times in the past and it was always a fun night had by all. So I’ve decided to go ahead and create this next one over TWO nights. Whilst throwing up this forum thread in the process, hoping to attract more fine RP’ers of Khaz Modan and beyond!
The Bronzebeard and the Gnomish teams came a joint first place last time, here’s hoping they don’t do so well this time, haha!
All jokes aside, here is a list of the games that’ll likely come up over the two days extravaganza!
THE GAMES
Below are listed the games to be played over the two days, be them for the actual competition or just for the crack!
"Pink Belly!"
A game shared throughout the Wildhammer Clan to test your hide and brawn. With this game, each participent will fill up a mug of their chosen mead or ale, the first person will place the filled mug on top of their head until balanced. They’ll then welcome a -punch- to their stomach from the rest of the people involved. Not wanting to lurch or shift too much else they’ll spill the mug atop their noggin’. The aim of “glory” is to be able to take the most punches until the mug falls. Once failed the next participant shall place their mug atop his head and so on, so forth.
"The Boulder Toss!"
A game that’ll test your arm and your might! It doesn’t take long to understand, but a fair while to master; though we Wildhammer have never been all too keen on technique.
"The Great Barrel Ride!"
As dangerous as it sounds! In days of old each participant would’ve finished off their -own- keg, upon doing so they’ll be granted the right to participate! However, the youth of today aren’t as hardy - haha! Each willing to participate will await at the top of the chosen hill, slope (or mountain). Upon the word “Go!” they’ll all mount their barrels and race to the bottom. Well, that’s the idea anyway…
"Tug o' War!"
That’s right, we’re to work as a team in this one! Show off your prowess alongside your kin and hold fast - stoic and un-moving to your opponents’ struggle! Grasp hold of the large double-knotted rope, align the ‘centre’ with a marker-stone. Upon the word “Go!” you’ll pull like you’re trying to steal a wagon of ale!
"Spitting!"
A crude tavern game invented by Thane Grahda Stormheart. It entails two challengers to go at it with their gutter-trash talk in the hopes of being the “quickest” and most creative in insulting the other. The winner usually gets bought a drink, or whatever the wager may have been.
"Chug or Chunder!"
Taken from the head of ‘Thumper’, Thundermar’s infamous and temperamental ram. He boasted a staggering sized set of horns! Upon his death, the townsfolk claimed them for trophy and placed them upon a plaque - until Rekkr Stormheart snagged one. Believing it fitting that the boisterous beast was honoured in a more rowdy way. Filling it up with an absurd amount of ale of course! Seeing if anyone has the stones to see it all off in one go - or chunder trying! To this day, it’s been a challenging feat to finish Thumper’s Horn!
"The Arm-Wrestle!"
A game as old as time, those that think they have arms of Titans and want to flaunt it? Well, ready yourself and let us sit down around a table and have it out.
"It's Six Sipping!"
It’s a simple game designed to deliver the unfortunate into a paraplegic mess. You’ll each take a six-sided dice, partnered with Thane Stormheart’s deadly ‘Fermented Goat’s Milk’ beverage. A true recipe for disaster - if you’re lucky!
"The Ramshead!"
Two challengers are pitted against each other in a classic game of “Ramshead”! A travelling Bronzebeard named Hubran Ramshead once trundled up through our beloved Highlands, bringing with him many kegs of ale from the great breweries of Ironforge. But that wasn’t all, for he introduced the Wildhammers to a game they’ll not soon forget! A game blessed by the traveller and thus named accordingly…
It entails two opponents to face off against each other, putting their hands upon the others shoulders at an arm’s length. At the count-down, they rather spectacularly smash their foreheads into the others in hopes to send them promptly to the ground! A rather sophisticated game from the great halls of our cousins.
To be put in its purest form; collide your heads until one collapses to the floor!
For each game, there will be potential points to win for your team - in hopes to become winners of this Highland Games!

See you then!
