The Sha'ur
Story of the Sha’ur
Sha’ur, a venerable Draenei order with a rich history spanning decades, was originally established by Exarch Kelari a quarter of a century ago. Its inaugural generation brought pride to the Draenei people through engagements in numerous battles, skirmishes, and the establishment of crucial alliances with various societies and organizations.
The mantle of leadership transitioned to Exarch Zarred when Exarch Kelari, following severe injuries, entered cryo-stasis. Despite Zarred’s efforts to uphold the order’s mission of safeguarding Draenei interests, relentless battles depleted Sha’ur’s resources, including its members. The unit faced disbandment due to the high toll of casualties.
Fifteen years later, Farseer Lenoir, a former member, emerged in order to restore the Sha’ur under a new leadership. Having surpassed rigorous trials and secured the blessing of other Exarchs, Lenoir resurrected Sha’ur, now in its 2nd generation. Rapid development ensued, with inner branches established. The unit actively confronted the Legion during its invasion and later engaged the Horde in the fourth war.
After these conflicts, the title of Exarch was rightfully passed to one of Sha’ur’s most loyal Commanders, Allerii. Under Allerii’s leadership, Sha’ur continued its vigilant pursuit of threats across Azeroth, gaining renown for campaigns in Northrend and the defeat of a long-standing Warlock terrorizing Draenei society.
In a recent turn of events, the mantle of Exarch has returned to its former leader, Lenoir. Motivated to restore the unit to its former glory, a new chapter unfolds for Sha’ur as fresh dangers emerge from the shadows and beyond.
About
The Sha’ur stands as one of the many military units within Draenei society, committed to shielding their kin and allies from both internal and external threats. Tasked with the primary mission of ensuring the safety and security of the Draenei community, they deploy to various regions across Azeroth and beyond, addressing potential dangers and safeguarding the well-being of their people.
Hierarchy
New recruits entering Sha’ur are initially granted a Trial rank along with a specified trial period. Typically, a Strategos, Warden, or Vindicator is designated to oversee and guide the trial member, ensuring they grasp and adhere to the core values of Sha’ur. Upon successful completion of their assigned personal mission, trialists become eligible for promotion to the rank of Adept.
The upper echelon
- Exarch - Leader of the Sha’ur.
- Consular - Personal advisors and councils to the Exarch, functioning as second-in-command in the absence of the Exarch. This position may include up to two Consulars.
- Strategos - A Sha’ur Officer tasked with upholding discipline and order within the lower ranks, while also overseeing diverse unit management duties such as recruitment, training, diplomacy, and more.
- Advisor - An esteemed designation for former officers (Strategos/Consular) who have voluntarily relinquished their officer position but desire to continue their service within the unit. This rank is designed to underscore and honor their unwavering dedication and significant contributions during their tenure as officers.
Backbone of the unit
- Warden - An esteemed veteran within the Sha’ur unit, granted to the exceptionally loyal and dedicated members who have exceeded all expectations in their contributions. This recognition is frequently conferred upon individuals who opt not to advance their career and ascend to the rank of Strategos.
- Vindicator - A radiant symbol. A prestigious position and title embodying the essence of the Sha’ur—guardianship over the Draenei society. Through unwavering dedication to the light, those bestowed with this title have demonstrated their right to be hailed as Defenders of the Draenei.
- Adept - Demonstrating their role through discipline, knowledge, and dedication, but not yet reaching the threshold to be recognized as a core member of the Sha’ur.
- Trial - An initial milestone for individuals entering the unit, where they must demonstrate their loyalty, value, and commitment to prove their dedication.
- Reserve - A non-engaged or minimally active role for those who desire to stay in the unit but cannot consistently maintain an active presence.
OOC
We are a group of chill goats that enjoys Draenei RP environment while seeking to build a small community around it that is united by a common hobby of RPing together. At its core, Sha’ur is a guild fueled by the narratives that frequently unfold during missions or campaigns.
While it does say that the Sha’ur is a military unit, we don’t strictly follow that definition from IC standpoint. It’s simply to maintain cohesion and respective attitude between the members in order to achieve a more immersive Draenei experience.
FAQ
How recruitment process is happening?
You can simply reach out to one of the guild officers either in-game or through discord. Contacts below! Regardless of IC/OOC approach, there is going to be a bit of roleplay (see it as interview) where characters will attempt to figure out if your character fits our guild while we, as a guild, fit your character.
Does my character have to wear a uniform?
No. It is enough to wear only a tabard as part of the ‘uniform’ to represent our unit.
How active you are?
We can promise one event per week with anything that comes extra in between those days. As the unit grows, it is possible that more events will take place, either hosted by the members or the officer team.
Can I host events of my own?
Yes, you can. Just make sure to contact one of our officers in advance, to ensure that it won’t overlap with any other planned events.
Is it mandatory to be on every event? What if I will be inactive for a while?
It is not mandatory but is appreciated. We all have our other things to be busy with, such as RL. As for inactivity. We have a special channel where person can notify the guild about own inactivity. As long as that has been done - we are gucci.
Do you only do RP-PvE events? Do you do anything besides RP?
Our main focus - RP-PvE events. We rarely do RP-PvP but it doesn’t mean you must join it, if you don’t enjoy it. As for any other activities, we do PvE/PvP activities from time to time. All depends on other guild members, if they are up to something!
