“The Tidewatch serve, whether it be across Sound or Sea, in the name of the Proudmoore Admiralty!”
Do you wish to serve our nation united?
Embark upon voyages to foreign shores?
Be paid to aid our maritime economy to the greatest degree?
And be afforded a high class education to do so as part of a new generation of marines, sages and specialists?
Then do not Tarry, enlist with the Tidewatch Company and work in service of the Houses of Kul Tiras, our close allies from Mechagon and the wider Grand Alliance today! Humans, Dwarves and Mechagnomes alongside their more fleshy bretheren hailing from Kul Tiras to Khaz Modan may seek out recruitment at Erickson Hall amongst the grounds of the Proudmoore Academy for a stable job, provided for living arrangements and the opportunity to aid your nation!"
Hey there sailors!
After three years leading the Bilgewater Battalion, recently I decided that it’s time to do something new and make the guild which I’ve wanted to make ever since the Kul Tiran allied race released - The Tidewatch. Although I’m still the guild master of the Battalion, some fellow members who are as enthusiastic as me about Kul Tiras RP have come with me to found the Tidewatch, a guild that’s all about enjoying the wonderful opportunities that the setting of Kul Tiras and its RP scene have to offer. So, without further ado, onto the Q&A!
What exactly is The Tidewatch?
The Tidewatch Company is a Kul Tiras based RP guild who are essentially an expeditionary force under the flag of the Proudmoore Admiralty whilst also serving the interests of the wider nation of Kul Tiras, our close allies from the island of Mechagon and heeding the call of the wider Alliance as required. Although we are often tasked with dealing with threats across Kul Tiras or sailing out to fight pirates and establish new trade connections with places and people across Azeroth, the other purpose of the Tidewatch is to ensure that Kul Tiras does not almost fall to otherworldly threats such as the Drust and the void again. Therefore we also do a great deal of research on these threats and how to deal with them whilst training a new generation of marines, sages and specialists capable of defending a Kul Tiras that stands with the Alliance against threats to Azeroth once more.
Where are you based?
The Tidewatch are based at the Proudmoore Academy in Boralus where we host our training and lectures, with our main offices being at Erickson Hall. However we always encourage our members to go out into Boralus and enjoy the various taverns and businesses in order to contribute to the local RP scene, hopefully without treading on anyone’s toes!
What kind of events do you do?
When at home in Boralus, we often do training events, lectures, tests around the Academy and go out into the city to investigate things that are just too intricate and magical for the Boralus Guard to handle. We like to give people an experience of learning in character, so sparring and laps are reserved for being supplements to the main training sessions and lectures which we try to make exciting, interesting and give people things to think about and discuss in character.
When we are deployed, however, whether it’s travelling as near to Boralus as Drustvar and Stormsong Valley or sailing out to other continents, we try to capture the essence of Kul Tiran RP in our overarching story arch where Tidesages and witches are abound! In one event we could be hunting some pirates to help bolster trade relations with a Goblin port only to go and deal with an otherworldly threat on our next expedition! Either way, just like in the Bilgewater Battalion, enlisting with the Tidewatch promises a wild ride!
Stance on the Faction War?
The Tidewatch observe and prefer to uphold the truce after the Fourth War, but when we do fight it will often be a small skirmish, usually in our love/hate relationship with the Bilgewater Battalion, and at times we’ll participate in campaigns in defensive wars or if both the Alliance and Horde are after the same objective.
What is your stance on the Shadowlands?
The Tidewatch will eventually go to the Shadowlands but it will only be for short periods of time and be entirely optional. This is because the link between Drustvar, the Drust and the Shadowlands is just too good to pass up as a plot hook!
How do I get recruited?
If you wish to join the Tidewatch, feel free to whisper or send mail to Worthings, Jacobturn, Arnoldl or Cássian in game or send an application on the guild finder. We also aim to be at our offices at Erickson Hall in Boralus at least once a month when not on an expedition or on campaign and at times we’ll even visit Stormwind and set up a recruitment booth by the Embassy for a day. We’re currently recruiting Kul Tirans, Humans, Gnomes, Mechagnomes and Dwarves who would be capable of declaring their loyalty to the Admiralty and serving the interests of Kul Tiras. We’d love to have you along on our adventures!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
