[A-RP] The Tidewatch - Kul Tiras Stands Vigilant

“The Tidewatch serve, whether it be across Sound or Sea, in the name of the Proudmoore Admiralty!”

Do you wish to serve our nation united?

Embark upon voyages to foreign shores?

Be paid to aid our maritime economy to the greatest degree?

And be afforded a high class education to do so as part of a new generation of marines, sages and specialists?

Then do not Tarry, enlist with the Tidewatch Company and work in service of the Houses of Kul Tiras, our close allies from Mechagon and the wider Grand Alliance today! Humans, Dwarves and Mechagnomes alongside their more fleshy bretheren hailing from Kul Tiras to Khaz Modan may seek out recruitment at Erickson Hall amongst the grounds of the Proudmoore Academy for a stable job, provided for living arrangements and the opportunity to aid your nation!"

Hey there sailors!

After three years leading the Bilgewater Battalion, recently I decided that it’s time to do something new and make the guild which I’ve wanted to make ever since the Kul Tiran allied race released - The Tidewatch. Although I’m still the guild master of the Battalion, some fellow members who are as enthusiastic as me about Kul Tiras RP have come with me to found the Tidewatch, a guild that’s all about enjoying the wonderful opportunities that the setting of Kul Tiras and its RP scene have to offer. So, without further ado, onto the Q&A!

What exactly is The Tidewatch?

The Tidewatch Company is a Kul Tiras based RP guild who are essentially an expeditionary force under the flag of the Proudmoore Admiralty whilst also serving the interests of the wider nation of Kul Tiras, our close allies from the island of Mechagon and heeding the call of the wider Alliance as required. Although we are often tasked with dealing with threats across Kul Tiras or sailing out to fight pirates and establish new trade connections with places and people across Azeroth, the other purpose of the Tidewatch is to ensure that Kul Tiras does not almost fall to otherworldly threats such as the Drust and the void again. Therefore we also do a great deal of research on these threats and how to deal with them whilst training a new generation of marines, sages and specialists capable of defending a Kul Tiras that stands with the Alliance against threats to Azeroth once more.

Where are you based?

The Tidewatch are based at the Proudmoore Academy in Boralus where we host our training and lectures, with our main offices being at Erickson Hall. However we always encourage our members to go out into Boralus and enjoy the various taverns and businesses in order to contribute to the local RP scene, hopefully without treading on anyone’s toes!

What kind of events do you do?

When at home in Boralus, we often do training events, lectures, tests around the Academy and go out into the city to investigate things that are just too intricate and magical for the Boralus Guard to handle. We like to give people an experience of learning in character, so sparring and laps are reserved for being supplements to the main training sessions and lectures which we try to make exciting, interesting and give people things to think about and discuss in character.

When we are deployed, however, whether it’s travelling as near to Boralus as Drustvar and Stormsong Valley or sailing out to other continents, we try to capture the essence of Kul Tiran RP in our overarching story arch where Tidesages and witches are abound! In one event we could be hunting some pirates to help bolster trade relations with a Goblin port only to go and deal with an otherworldly threat on our next expedition! Either way, just like in the Bilgewater Battalion, enlisting with the Tidewatch promises a wild ride!

Stance on the Faction War?

The Tidewatch observe and prefer to uphold the truce after the Fourth War, but when we do fight it will often be a small skirmish, usually in our love/hate relationship with the Bilgewater Battalion, and at times we’ll participate in campaigns in defensive wars or if both the Alliance and Horde are after the same objective.

What is your stance on the Shadowlands?

The Tidewatch will eventually go to the Shadowlands but it will only be for short periods of time and be entirely optional. This is because the link between Drustvar, the Drust and the Shadowlands is just too good to pass up as a plot hook!

How do I get recruited?

If you wish to join the Tidewatch, feel free to whisper or send mail to Worthings, Jacobturn, Arnoldl or Cássian in game or send an application on the guild finder. We also aim to be at our offices at Erickson Hall in Boralus at least once a month when not on an expedition or on campaign and at times we’ll even visit Stormwind and set up a recruitment booth by the Embassy for a day. We’re currently recruiting Kul Tirans, Humans, Gnomes, Mechagnomes and Dwarves who would be capable of declaring their loyalty to the Admiralty and serving the interests of Kul Tiras. We’d love to have you along on our adventures!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Guild Rules

  • No OOCing in spatial channels such as yell, say, and emote. Clarifying something can be done in OOC chats like raid, guild and whisper and it’s always good to get inventive with what your character is doing while you’re AFK!
  • No ERP. If we catch you participating in ERP, other people could happen upon you doing it as well.
  • Be courteous. That means no metagaming/god emoting/afking on big mounts in RP spots, getting overly explicit with your battle insults, you know the drill!
  • Please download our required addons. We use Total Roleplay Three and Dice Master religiously in our RP and events. We’ll help you with any set up required and rest assured they will improve your experience tenfold!

Activity

We operate on the same activity policy as the Bilgewater Battalion. We’re lax about it but if you haven’t RP’d with us for two weeks without telling us why, we’ll sadly have to remove you from the guild. However, we will always extend the gesture that we’re happy to re-invite past members at any time.

Ranks

This is what you’ve probably been waiting for. The Tidewatch operates on the Admiralty rank system that is more like that of a navy than a traditional military. Our rank system is as follows:

Reservist: The lowest rank of the Tidewatch. This rank is often reserved for new recruits and characters of races not native to Kul Tiras who have not displayed and skill for them to be regarded as specialists. At this rank you’ll often be prompted to show off your skills so you get a chance to get your fully fledged member rank!

Marine: The Marine is the base soldier/sailor rank of the Tidewatch. Our marines come with multiple armour classes and skill sets which is what makes even our soldiers so diverse! Don’t forget to wear your dress armour when on parade however or Sergeant Turner will come for you!

Tidesage: The mysterious Tidesages of the Tidewatch define what special skills our guild brings to the table both at home and away. As a Tidesage of the Tidewatch, you can be tasked with anything from giving sermons and support to people in Kul Tiras to performing wrathful rituals in a warzone; all the while learning new secrets of the mysterious Tidesage Order.

Specialist: The specialists can be of multiple races, however to become one, whether it’s magic, engineering, science or another special skill, you have to bring something to the table which will give the Tidewatch an edge!

First Mariner: The First Mariner is a rank awarded to those who have proven to be capable marines or specialists of the Proudmoore Admiralty. A rank awarded to humans and Kul Tirans exclusively, the First Mariner is a badge of pride and honour to show that you can be trusted with many a task.

Ambassador: The Ambassadors of the Tidewatch hail from every race of the Alliance that holds political sway including our own ambassadors to the Alliance. An ambassadors job is to offer diplomatic support and representation for their people as well as presenting opportunities for the Tidewatch to gain more favour towards Kul Tiras amongst their people and acting as a liaison with them.

Ensign: The first true officer rank of the Tidewatch, Ensigns are officers entrusted with supporting the Lieutenants and the Captain as well as at times leading the Tidewatch themselves at times when the Lieutenants and Captain cannot.

Lieutenant: The Lieutenants are the Captain’s most trusted officers and act as First Mate aboard the ship if they are not commanding a vessel themselves as acting Captain. With a raft of responsibility in making sure the Tidewatch maintains the high standards that the Admiralty places upon them, a Lieutenant will always have their work cut out.

Captain: The Captain of the Tidewatch is an unfortunate soul. With most major decisions going through them, they not only act as a figurehead and representative of their soldiers, but they also have to navigate the political and social minefield that is Kul Tiras and Alliance politics just as much as they have to steer the ship and lead the troops. Thank goodness for Lieutenants and Ensigns, right?

Please note: The Ambassadors are already represented by officers of the Tidewatch and will not be around at all times. As the Tidewatch grows there will also be the opportunity for marines and specialists to gain separate ranks in their titles such as quartermaster or navigator. We’re also on the lookout to fill that final rank with a rank for our Tidesage officer who will lead our Tidesages!

Thank you all for your support!

Right now the Tidewatch are in Drustvar, attempting to scout out the vile Matron Dread who has been dipping further into blood magic than the Heartsbane Coven ever did in the past. As our overarching storyline, even our Order of Embers representatives and Tidesages are stumped and having to work together to deal with this threat to Kul Tiras!

Next week we’ll be deploying to the Stonetalon Mountains after some brief recruitment in Stormwind so it’s a great time to join in!

Last night we endured the full wrath of Matron Dread’s Crimson Triad. The Sanguine Iris they bickered over instilled them with great power, and although we sent them fleeing, the destruction we caused in the village of lower Corlain to defeat them instilled distrust amongst the people of Drustvar towards us. As we head home while Marshall Priors clears our name, we now prepare to sail to Stormwind, where we shall attend a meeting concerning problems in the Stonetalon Mountains with Northwatch Forces once loyal to the Lord Admiral. Today is the last day we’ll be in Boralus before we’ll be at sea for a day and in Stormwind for two days for the meeting, if you want to catch us for recruitment before we set sail for a campaign in the Stonetalon Mountains facing many other guilds, the time to check in is now!

We’re anchored in Stormwind currently, tonight we’ll be hanging around Stormwind seeing if anyone wants to join Proudmoore’s finest. Feel free to seek us out and join our merry crew before evenings end because it’s then that we’ll be sailing for Azuremyst Isle and after a rendezvous with a cargo ship on our way to the upcoming Stonetalon Campaign!

We’ve safely arrived in Stonetalon with our draenei allies and the fighting men of Stormwind.
Northwatch holdings have to be maintained to keep the land safe from undesirable expansionist factions… you know the ones I mean.

I don’t know who these people are, where they’re from, all I know is that I must upvote and support this guild.

Not even Gilneans? Discrimination based on nationality is so hot right now

Atleast you guys recruit the Master Race™, so you have my support!
