Awesome, thank you. I’ll be about in game this evening and i’m keeping an eye on this thread!
I’ll log in a bit so we can discuss this through whispers!
I had a run-in with these nice people after a bit of a detour IC tonight, and it was very pleasant and came with plenty of interesting conversations. I hope your guild takes off in style! Kalimdor will be celebrating!
Thans a lot for your kind words! We cannot wait to meet up with you again in Astranaar! Here’s to more enjoyable RP!
Thank you for the pep talk, Honoured Mother(s)!
You’re welcome! Thanks a lot for the fun Roleplay! Hope to see you around ^^
Out of curiosity would this guild be working alongside or recruiting green flight aligned Dracys? just wondering as green flight have always typically been close to druids as have reds to a lesser extent and offers an alternative than just the Dracy specific guilds I imagine will pop up apon release, same with kirin tor guilds n blue aligned dracys ect
I would imagine not, but that would be up to Aneriel. I don’t see it being a thing though.
More lore will be needed, but I dont think blizz will give the Dractyr the lore necessary for them to join the guild IC. Additionally, I don’t want 100000 Dractyr in the guild. Everyone will make one in the early stages!
Yeah ofc I 100% get that concern, unique members should be that, unique, like 1-2 of them -IF- being “allowed” and Dracys will likely have a larger population than any race apon release, would be cool to have 1-2 unique chars that work -with- the druids at times though even if not as actual full fledged members but instead as “friends/allies”, wish you guys the best n can imagine thisll do good, people have been wanting more nelf/druid focused rp for a hot minute now!
Oh Aye, but as stated, we lack the lore to say the Dractyr that bear certain colouresare even part of/Associated with a certain brood. All we know, all Dractyr can use all powers of all broods.
If the lore allows it, I would not be opposed to a single dractyr, as I’ve also allowed a single wildhammer dwarf shaman with us, whom has proven to understand and respect nature.
Thats dope, I hope they do add to it, green flight have always had a cool vybe with nelves/druids, be cool to see some more of that, either way wish you guys all the best! (and yeah I clocked that dwarf recruitment, sounds really cool tbf, something different!)
I’ve always wondered why Shamans and druids aren’t closer to each other; It always seemed to make sense to me that these two classes would be almost two sides of the same coin, in a sense.
Of course we have the Earthen Ring and Cenarion Circle for cross-faction purposes, but never one where Shaman and Druids intermingle for whatever reason.
Could be wrong in this but it may have something to do with the relationships between the Elemental Lords and then ofc the Titans and their empowered enforcers the aspects, an ancient rivalry, with both sides thinking they know best when it comes to balance/the world/ect
I don’t think there’s really a rivalry, and if my mind serves well, there are a few locations where they even work together. The earliest example being the Argent Dawn, with Rayne and Rimblat. The Cenarion Circle and Earthen Ring have always served the same purpose in a different way. We’ve now had quite some discussions about this in the guild and we don’t really understand why there isn’t a deeper cooperation between the two classes, other than the cultural rifts between the races.
If you ever come to any conclusions, share them! I am also curious!
I mean, any conclusion we come to would be the personal interpretation of the people of the guild, rather than a canon answer to the question.
Seems like the best way to go about it tbh. So long as it makes sense, then I’d say go for it.
(Inb4 that is taken as permission to blow the vaguest hints completely out of proportion and Kalimdor overflows with Dark Rangers.)
Shamanism: Elemental planes.
Druidism: Plane of life.
There’s no need to go further than this, they don’t mingle because it has nothing to do with each other.
The purpose being “protecting Azeroth”. Yet, us players don’t really match arcane with protecting the earth even though it’s all about leylines. Who can say Druids and Arcanists are similar?
I believe the bias is because we see Shaman using earth/wind/fire/water and we associate it with ‘natural’ = ‘good’.
At the end once you understand Shaman are Elemental Demonologists, you understand the difference isn’t just a difference of culture between races.
I think Neridris has a point there, shamanism is about elemental spirits and and druidism with wild gods and nature itself. They’re both part of the natural cosmos in wow but so are the other power sources as well like arcane and the light.
I think we like to compare them as similar since elements like water/wind/earth/fire and “nature” overall are things we have in our real world and here it’s pretty much the same thing so it’s easy to connect the two in game as well. Just my unprofessional take on it
Edit: That said, I think shamanism and druidism is similar in the way both are in connection with life, nature is life (well and death Kul tirans), and elemental spirits are alive. Arcane, light, chi, shadow etc, aren’t really connected to life.
Other than that, good luck with this guild, it made me even more want to make a nelf as my main next expansion
