A warning to the community wanting TBC servers next

Resposting because I put the first on the General Discussion forum by mistake.

If you think the factions are currently imbalanced on the majority of PVP servers, I don’t think you quite understand the can of worms you are opening by progressing onto TBC.

It was bad enough when TBC was actually released but the tendency towards Horde is stronger than ever and this will, 100% guaranteed, result in the death of the Alliance side on most servers.

Battlegrounds will have disgusting queues for Horde players and WPVP will be rendered obsolete on some servers.

You have been warned.

This is one of the reasons why (if there’s ever a progression to something in future) Classic + is the only rational option available.

From what ive seen across most realms the ally/horde ratios are about even, on my own server there is fractionally more ally than horde, 2 realms have are extremely bias to one side, but the others seem fairly balenced, ofc there will be an imbalence on some realms but its not as bad as your making it out to be, and this goes for both factions

So basically, what you’re saying is: “you think you do, but you don’t

I seem to recall hearing that before, and strangely enough, the person who said it was talking utter nonsense. The truth was more like “I thought I did, and I did”.

There is so many threads about Classic+, tbc or wotlk servers … Classic just launched, and everybody on this forum seem to be more interested in what will happen later. I think it is a bit early. O.o

Just play Alliance on PvE server. Who cares about Horde, they are evil beings anyway.

Egh. We’ll just give the High Elves to Alliance this time and watch as the guys in the Retail forum lose their minds.

Power of the Blood elves are just too much…

I’m fine with the way Classic is right now. However TBC and WTLK were both awesome. After that everything changed, it’s not even an mmorpg anymore.

I’d rather have no changes at all then the risk of Activision Blizzard ruining everything. They are not the best in listening to their players. Next thing you know and the talent tree is gone.

The only thing missing in Classic is support.

If this means that Shaman and Paladins remain faction-specific, and Horde gets Draenei, I am surprisingly okay with this.

edit: To the over-all notion that the way to go would be Classic+, I would agree. Even though I loved BC when it was current (yes, even the space goats, especially the space goats!), it started WoW towards the path that led to BfA. I would say that revisiting expansion content would be good, but expansion features would need a serious looking over. Like, why not go to Northrend again - but this time without flying, without LFD, without completely linear dungeons, without welfare epics, without the hundreds of dailies - in essence: Keep the continent, ditch the rest and redesign it.

But he is laughing at his paycheck now.

Don’t worry you don’t need to come along. You can just stay in classic.

New servers for tbc and then new servers for wotlk.

Dont be another j allen barak and telling us that " you think you want tbc, but you dont".

I would only be ok with TBC Classic if they remove all flying from it and rework zones to adapt to ground travel only where required.
Then I would consider it.

People want to know because from a time investment point of view. It might not be the same for everyone but if there’s absolutely no chance of any new content - ever. It makes me feel less inclined to invest as much time as I otherwise would. Back in actual Vanilla everyone knew that the game would progress in some form and wouldn’t be a museum piece with nothing new added.

I just think moving to TBC and WOTLK would be a huge mistake because it introduced things that we know don’t work for the betterment of the game in the long run. And what happens when we reach the end of WOTLK? Stagnate there instead or move on to Cataclysm?

It’s short sighted in my view. OSRS is the model they need to look at because it’s already shown to be successful.

It does make sense when you put it that way, and I agree. I’m not interested in TBC or Wotlk, i like the game just the way it is right now. In time I would love to see new content in a Classic+ way.
But right now I’ve only just started out, i’ve got worgens to skin (yay!) and dragons to slay, last phase is still a long way away and I’m just enjoing to moment. Reading this forum sometimes makes me wonder if anybody else is enjoying it too.

The difference between Alliance and Horde in TBC is much, MUCH smaller than in Vanilla. If me and a lot other players are fine playing in a Horde PvE raiding guild in Classic, I’m sure there’ll be a lot of ppl who’re fine playing Alliance in TBC.

Also, battlegrounds and wPvP are not really the main things TBC fans are generally interested in… just saying. Compared to, say, raids and arenas.

i want TBC and beyond but without or changed the bellow and many more. i want the vanilla experience in the next expansions. this time they can do it correctly according to my perspective of course.

no Flying Mounts
no Daily Quests
no Time Gated Progression (Heroics/Dailies)
no Badges from Dungeons
no Corridor Style Dungeons
no Easier Access to Epics
no Stat “rating”
no Class and Faction homogenization
no Hub Cities (Shattrath)
no Portals for easy world travel
no removal of Attunements
not Too many limited time items compelling you to play nonstop, for example every arena season
no lfg auto party matchings
no cross-server

the rest about balance i don’t care even if i have the weakest class of all. at least is different

For Arena most Coms are better on Alliance

Warrior/Rdrood and Rdrood in General.

Rogue,Human/Orc
Warlock: Orc
Mage: doesnt really matter because u play anyway mage rogue
Ret has to be Bloodelf to be playable ,Healpala Dwarf

So the only major CLASS what needs Horde is Warlock and Ret

and openworld pvp doesnt matter because durations of cc arent that huge in tbc like in vanilla

Lol, so what do you want from TBC?^^ I mean, at this point, maybe TBC really isn’t for you? You kinda sound like those people that want Classic but with all the QoL and changes of retail…
