The reason why we’re not getting a proper AV version, a proper itemization system in general, or pre-nerf bosses and values is not because it wouldn’t suit the game because “lol it’s 1.12 so everything should be 1.12”, the reason why it doesn’t happen is because it would involved more work for blizzard: re-introducing AV before it was nerfed, revisiting raids to balance them, or just trying to re-introduce things from before 1.12 means that they’d need to do a lot of research, which means they’d have to invest time and money just to do that.
And they’re NEVER going to do that: classic wow is good because it generates free money, with 0 development costs, if they suddenly have to start spending more money on it then necessary, then it’s a bad idea for them.
So please remember that in the future: classic wow is a super easy way to make money for Blizzard, with minimum effort. If they suddenly have to start spending dough on it just to please, it’s not worth it anymore for them.
Again, Classic wow is vanilla brought back with minimum effort, nothing more, nothing less.
You can BET your azz that the same will happen with TBC: it doesn’t matter how seriously and frequently people will keep telling Blizzard about the necessity of using pre 2.1 itemization, pre nerf bosses mechanics and values (which matters a lot in tbc actually), they won’t do it, because it will cost money.
And of course, the EXACT same thing will happen if, one day, we get Wotlk: they’ll use the stock values of the 3.3.5 client, and won’t do anything about it.
Feels like this annoys me a little?..Yeah you bet, when even pservers invested time to counter these issues, but a multi billion dollar company won’t.
