I’ve heard warrior is superhard, which is kind of intriguing for a challenge. I have maxed mage, rogue and warrior in the normal WoW. I really enjoy rogue too. Any tips on which one to play?
It depends on what you look for, in terms of playstyle/feel and role(s).
The classes are both melee, of course. Both do excellent DPS (with the right gear, the warrior will be stronger; especially thanks to insane cleave damage). Both are fairly gear dependent (rogues need good weapons to get started and that’s about it, while warriors need good weapons and a bit more, I would argue…).
In the open world, rogues have it easier. Stealth is extremely handy and can help you greatly in more ways than you can imagine. It’s the better pick for someone who’ll be playing solo a lot, since you can pick and choose your fights, and also escape the ones you don’t want to engage in, if things get hairy. This applies to both PvE and PvP.
Warriors are tougher to play solo because of your lack of stealth and defensive “oh snap” cooldowns such as vanish and sprint. However, with a group, and especially a healer, you will absolutely crush anyone or anything that gets in your way. This, too, applies to PvE and PvP.
Bonus stuff: warriors can tank. Everybody needs a tank. And since both classes are well-populated, if not a tad over-populated, warriors have an advantage because of their ability to tank. Rogues can struggle to find groups/raids at endgame, unless you’re in a guild and you have a spot there.
I feel warriors are perhaps more rewarding in the end, if you stick with it and manage to get it to 60 and gear it up. You really feel your character’s power level increasing as a warrior. Rogues are more consistent in that regard. They will always do good, from start to finish, and because of that, they might feel a bit less rewarding.
With all that said, I prefer rogue, personally. Stealth is fun and you can mess with your opposition in several ways with it. I also have a tendency to roam around the world solo, so the rogue has a huge advantage there.
If you have the will and time, try leveling both classes to 20-30, maybe?
Oh, and welcome to Era, anyway!
You won’t regret this, I’m sure.
There are no tips at all. You can play whatever you want. But if you want play some “meta” choose human warrior because +5 weapon mastery to swords and maces or human rogue.
With both you need to level First aid and cooking, unless you have a healer who is levelling with you.
I find them similar but rogue is better in my limited opinion due to stealth and a big opener.
First there is no “normal” WOW because for most people in this section of the forums Classic is the normal WOW.
Both warriors and rogues are difficult to level. Warrior slightly easier if you tank.
All depends on what you want to do at higher levels. If you want to PVP (especially world PVP) - rogue. If you want to PVP and have a healer - warrior. For solo PVE I think warrior is slightly better because being harder to kill. Being night elf you can use the Shadowmeld ability when you want to avoid a fight.
For raiding warrior is better because more DPS and can tank but rogue is still good.
And warrior can equip 2-handed swords, axes and maces which are the coolest in game.
Unless you want to focus on solo world PVP, I recommend a warrior.
People say that, but its just not true. Warriors feel just fine when leveling. The class probably is a little bit harder to play in PvP due to stance swapping and whatnot, but thats about it.
I believe both classes would suit you fine if the general idea already appeals to you.
We can’t choose your class for you. You can try both and decide
Of course we can’t choose the class for the OP but at least we can give helpful advice.
