Deserting is a choice you make. Being kicked off isn’t deserting. That debuff needs to go when you get booted out of automated group content.
Or maybe you’re playing with the wrong people
It’s nice if a healer can help out by providing that little bit of extra DPS to push an encounter, but actually expecting this from healers is an absolute no-go.
I’m willing to concede on that point for Mythic progression where every little bit matters to achieve a clear or phase push, but:
- First one telling in any other content “healer must dps” → instant kick
- If your entire setup depends on the healers doing a certain amount of DPS, you have different problems.
Have played M+ quite a lot and i haven’t been yelled at.
I must be looking at the wrong talent-tree then. And play with the ‘wrong’ random players.
It is a pathetic system enforced to a part of the game that you only play for a very short period.
The main reason the 30 minute debuff is applied is to stop people joining for bosses early on and leaving the group stranded. Just ask yourself how critical the loot is from HC or normal dungeons. It plays such a small part of the loot system now that it is inconsequential. Even at the start of an expansion, HC dungeon are only used for about 10 days tops.
Which leads to why we don’t just allow people to leave or join whenever they want. Why do we want this stupid system in place anymore. The real loot is in areas where people form their own parties either through in game communication or the premade system.
It was actually done because people were doing this in m0 content, where in a dungeon like Ara kara if the first boss is killed you will rarely find replacement as most want the trinket from the first boss.
It may just be easier to put the influential gear most would be interested in (trinkets, weapons, unique pieces) to the loot table of the last boss instead.
For LFG content I think locking players into roles can solve this issue, partially. The lock would be active until someone leaves (not kicked). With the damage healers and tanks can do these days it should not make or break a run.
It would not change much on people who do not want to heal, but it may discourage some to try and skip queues doing this.
that was the most ridiculous situation imo, classic ego power trip from the person who was joining as the healer, he did not like that he is gonna be booted for his own doing and so let’s “kick the kicker! YAY”. That is funny on one hand and sad on another. Maybe because of that we should have some sort of punishment for power tripping, but once again there is no valid other solution apart from the system we have rn. Either there will be again too much trolls waiting to be kicked to avoid dungeon they did not like or just deal with this 0.1% of chance getting booted and eating debuff, players decided what is better, so blizz kept it the way it is
No, the punishment is needed or you end up with people sitting there refusing to play, demanding you kick them to bypass their penalty.
Yeah did they do that in ur 200 rio groups?
Whats with the made up stories and this forum?
M0 can only be formed with the premades option AFAIK. The lock system does not apply there anymore. that is if it ever did. I don’t remember it being used for M0 ever.
Locking people into roles for LFG is another issue totally. People will either play or they will not. It could even be down to a real life crisis they have going on in the background. Real life should always be > some pixel entertainment. HCs and normals are so easy that there is no role so crucial that you cannot continue on without them.
That’s where reports come in place. If you have a troll, you report them and carry on. If it happens regularly, they’ll get banned. While getting penalized for other people’s mistakes seems to be ridiculous and unneeded more often than it’s justified.
No it isn’t. Having played this game before vote kicked players got a penalty I have zero desire to go back to that.
The system may not be perfect and ofc every single person who is ever removed always declares that they are innocent. However it’s the best system we’ve had so far.
Like others here Im in a guild, and I do hear the stories from my guildmembers as well.
That I dont got the RIO on this character doesnt mean I dont run any mythic+.
Get your own facts straight before accusing others please.
The whole votekicking is absolutely insane.
In one instance I kept declining to a votekick because the person initiating it was a maniac (The Tank) but then I am the one who is kicked because the person the tank was trying to kick voted yes.
I legit think that people are not are either not looking at the window and just click yes, or are just stupid. I say this because in anotger instance I voted to kick a healer who was trying to rush and was being rude, just for that vote to fail… Then the same vote manages to go through.
The votekick system is the worst.
It’s the best system that can be in the unfortunate absence of living GMs. If everything that can be automatized is automatized it’s indeed better to have some way to punish the trolls than not to have it at all. Which again returns us to how much do the devs themselves pay their own game, especially outside US.
It’s not a system that is policed nor would it be able to be. Even in the height of WoW’s good customer service it would have been overwhelmed policing dungeons.
So this system works as best as it can. Its a simple majority rules vote. The onus is on the player to get on with his fellow team mates.
You can put GMs to solve every kick request and people will cry about GMs being unfair and what not.
Before queued content kicking was at the discretion of the party leader. In queued content there’s no way to fairly choose one responsible for kicking so it’s put on a vote.
The deserter debuff was added so people could complete even unpopular dungeons, otherwise people would just leave them (or asked to be kicked when that loophole existed).
Which also can be avoided by putting all loot to the last boss, like m+.
How will putting all the loot at the end of Maraudon/Dire Maul wings help the dungeon get completed if tanks can just leave with no deserter debuff?
Not that I have any idea why these dungeons are so hated besides being slightly long.
Quick to change ur facts huh ? post on the one u do M+ with then.
But if there was no debuff added for leaving the dungeon, then this would not happen.
