No it would be like removing bear form from druids and only allowing them to get bear form once they’ve done all the content, or to go to my previous burger analogy, only giving you the burger that you came there for after you ate a burger you didn’t want for a week until you’re full then giving you the burger you were after originally.
No one is asking for free stuff, the meta rune is not about being OP top tier BS. It’s literally a way of playing the game that people are after, you have to go through the content playing how you don’t want to play to get the opportunity to play the way you want but you currently have zero content to use it on. Since the two of you are struggling to follow on, let me help. Imagine getting a game that’s says it going to let you play as an FPS you just have to find the gun, when you buy the game turns out you have to play a racing game for 40 hours and complete difficult races to get the gun but you’ve got nothing to do in FPS really because you’ve already done all the content.
See now why people think it’s a terrible choice to lock a play style, not an ability not flashy cool stuff, a way of playing the game behind the end of the content you announced it in. No one would really care too much if they locked shadowbolt volley behind the raid, cause that’s just a bigger DPS ability so what you if you want it, do the content to get it, no different than raid gear. This however is a way in which you play the game, you’re now forcing players to play 40 hours in a role they don’t want to play in order to get the chance to play how they want.
They hot fixed it! You can farm it outside the raid now. Add me and ill make group: Turtleduck#11974

You talk like those dinosaur players that believe the game they’ve been playing for 200 years has always been flawless, even after it’s been changed a million times since the beginning.
The “it’s classic” argument is ridiculous. Yes, it has Classic in the name. Where was Metamorphosis in 2004 then? It’s NOT the same Classic. It’s not even the same Classic Vanilla that was launched a few years back. Don’t use an argument if you have no idea what it means. Saying “it’s classic” as an excuse for something to be kept the same as it was in 2004 is ridiculous, and you should feel ridiculous.
You also have clearly no capacity to think outside of your own personal experience. Many people here have given you (and others like you) perspectives on things that are not the case of your level 25 druid, and one even compared the Meta situation with your own Bear Form, and the worse thing than being blind, is being blind and not wanting to see.
PS: to you and all the people who are just rushing to comment after reading the title: If you had actually read the post, you’d know my problem is not with having to work to get a Rune, it’s only getting it after all the content is done. It’s two very different things. I repeat what I said: if Chaos Bolt or Haunt or whatever other rune was swapped in timing with Metamorphosis, I would not be upset that I would have to wait until level 25 to get that Chaos Bolt or Haunt or whatever other rune, even one that helped with tanking like Demonic Grace. Metamorphosis unlocks a role, it doesn’t turn you into Superman. Nothing gets facilitated by getting the rune, except for tanking, and that is not because you now tank better than you did before, it’s because you couldn’t tank before at all.

Tbh I rather it was still raid locked, maybe obtaining it would make the moment sort of memorable as getting the dreadsteed in dire maul is to me. Though c’est la vie. Hope that blizz just keeps their mouth shut for the next phase runes so there aren’t any expectations set and such an outcry.
Unlikely to be fair, from my experience in the games industry the devs that create the work have little say over what gets shown to the public. That’s the marketing teams job and their team targets are all based around pre sales and sales figures not whether people end up hating it or not. It’s not just at the companies I worked at either, I’ve got mates who’ve had marketing team members upload things to the public that was not cleared by anyone on the dev team.
It’s sadly a very un-fair part to the industry where the devs get blamed by the fans for content that was over hyped and over sold by the marketing, when really they never promised anything in the first place. Then when the fans are in outcry the company blames the dev side of things because “Marketing did their job, they sold the product” without a care for how the end product will be received. The two teams don’t tend to interact except at the managerial level so alot of places you finds the devs and marketing really don’t get on.

So while I disagree it should, not because I want to make it easier, but to have it more accessible. I mean it still is one of the harder runes to get to access the new role. It feels warlock has to work a little harder for his runes in general compared to other classes “meta” builds, compare hunter for example (specifically not saying shaman) and even more so on PvP servers.
However I would agree that those that did get it before the change when it was more of an achievement should have something to show for it.
Lets face it next phase no one will talk about “how hard” it is anymore as you will be able to easily solo it.

Did warlocks forget that they get voidwalker at lvl 7 ?
Are they so upset that they can get their rune in under a day of gameplay instead of 2 hours.
E.g u dont even need tanks pre raid , pets will do fine enough its not like u need a full tank rotation and bis gear to do a deadmines.
Oh no! We did not get our new toy immediately level 7 and instead had to take a whole 5 days to find it and then even… gasp… do things to unlock it.
Unthinkable, false advertisement class action lawsuit is in order. Do we have lawyers here???
Keep in mind gettin to lvl 25 with spammable dungeons take like 15 hours at best.
But its a rune that would like u to socialise and grp up way better than some boring hand it for free rune like for shamans
Again it’s a playstyle they are locking away here not a new toy. If it was shadowbolt volley people generally wouldn’t care, but it’s like putting druids forms behind the end content and then being surprised people aren’t happy.
No one wants or is asking for free stupid overpowered stuff to be handed to them. If they were going to let Warlocks and rogues get abilities that allow them to tank, these abilities should have been accessible at level 10, the same time all the other classes start getting their tank spec on. That’s ultimately what meta is, it’s basically a new spec of warlock, same for rogues. It’s poor designs and not respectful of players time to force people to play in playstyle they don’t want to, in order for them to be able to play in a way they do want to. Imagine your character is forced into a healer role, and you are only allow to get dps spec once you finish all the content, you would likely find that kind of crappy, why would you want to play 15-30 hours in a playstyle you don’t enjoy.
So just go and get it?
It’s not some insanely difficult quest to complete and it was cool that you actually have to discover it instead of it being just tossed at you by a random trainer.
Sheesh, people can’t handle having to wait a few days to find out how to do a one hour quest chain nowadays.
The whole point IS that it’s not shadowbolt volley, it’s quite a bit more special and it deserves a bit more special treatment beyond just having it drop from some random NPC or some such.
You know Warlocks are fun without meta and can also tank with their pet.
There is no need for some lvl 10 Tank spec since u wont even join any role related content at 10 but maybe at like 20-25
I guess mental capacity is not one of your strengths. That and your reading ability.
@Kutthroat
Don’t bring your retail nonsense here. You have no idea what vanilla is like. That is obvious when you say “let your voidwalker tank” and also “you get voidwalker at level 7”.
Voidwalker has no aoe damage abilities and you get it at level 10, not 7.
Go, go away
