Account ban appeal wait time

Hello,

I just woke up to find out my account was banned for “Inappropriate communication”

As I was writing this I received a response to my first appeal which states was an automatically generated message by some form of AI which I am sure did not even bother reading my appeal. The response I received was - “This action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use and our In-game Policies (link), which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to playing. These policies and condition maintain a fun and safe game envorironment.

Our Terms of Use can be found at (link).

Now for a Billion dollar company I do not think that is an appropriate response as I work in Tech Support myself.

I asked for any sort of proof of my actions and also for them to properly look into this. Another concern I had was that the suspension expires on the 14th of Jan which is after the deadline to move our characters over to Classic Era. I currently play on Thunderstrike and do not wish for this char to progress to TBC but due to this situation I won’t really have a choice in the matter.

Please Blizzard take a proper look at my request.

p.s I have already appealed this suspension for a second time.

Blizzard won’t tell you that. Instead they may lock this thread, as ban discussions are not allowed on the forums.

To the ban itself: it could be anything from rude talk to advert for boosts, selling dmt buffs, summons, tanking services or any other “service in the LFG channel or actually anywhere except the Services channel.

Ban discussions aren’t allowed on the forums.

All appeals are handled by human GM’s and then an appropriate template will be chosen to maintain professional uniformity.

As a “Tech Support” guy I’m quite sure you must’ve received your fair share of AI criticism and harassment, you should also be not unfamiliar with professional template usage in corporate settings, whether customer-facing or with your peers.

To call it not an appropriate response would mean you’ve likely not worked very long as one, or only worked in sub-medium corporation personnel levels where mass communication and customer handling is not yet that massive. We’re talking about tens of thousands of similar tickets every day, by Blizzard, from players who believe they’re worngfully banned.

To manually type the same thing out would take a massive amount of time and not make a difference to you, versus using the same template.

The consequence of a penalty, if it’s not appealed succesfully I’m afraid.

Edit: The appeal may take several days.

Sorry about that dude but Blizzard doesn’t care about consumer service anymore.
You can get banned rightly and often wrongly if you are mass reported and this triggers an automatic response from Blizzard services.

In 99% of cases the appeals will result in a pre-constructed response to maintain the sanction. Even on this forum, which in any case is no longer consulted at all by Blizzard and its employees, it is enough to disagree and dare to contradict certain people with some rights to find yourself temporarily and unfairly banned, obviously the calls do not don’t follow up either.
Moreover, insisting on appeals will only result in a threat of additional sanction.

Here, players are only willing to pay, without proper customer service, while RMT mafias and a horde of Bots operate with impunity.

Guildie got muted in all channels except guild chat for inappropriate chat, but didn’t actualy say anything inappropriate. Got unmuted 10 minutes later without even doing anything. The automatic system has holes

If this is true, as I pointed our prior, why wouldn’t you form a vigilante group to do the same thing to combat the below problem?

The answer is very simple, your speculation is the reason why ban discussions aren’t allowed as it’s just plainly wrong, often self-contradicting.

This forum is 100% still maintained by Blizzard. See your other contradiction:

Whereas you claim that merely disagreeing with some people which we both know, isn’t the reason why you got temporarily timed out and fairly banned that is actually a Blizzard employee level penalty. That’s two contradictions, while you’re calling out a contradiction. The irony.

If they’ve upheld the appeals several times to the point that they will no longer honor appeals, yes. This is then not any longer a case of appealing, but a case of employee harassment. After so many eyes went over the evidence the chances of them being wrong is pretty low, and the time can be spent better on helping others.

Whether if you agree or not.

If a temporary squelch is applied (likely here) then a fast track GM review occurs. If nothing is wrong, a GM will lift the squelch (which is a temp removal of social functions, aimed to reduce spamvertiser flooding the chat etc) which happened here after 10 minutes without needing to appeal.

Therefore, you’ve proven the system is working as intended.

For a direct quote about that:

hahahahahahaha. Blizzard support is the worst thing i expierenced the last years.

Since Corona Blizzard gave up on support. Until Corona live chat was a thing and it was really good. With corona they shut it down with the reason of the worker cant go to office and quarantane. So live support needs to be in blizzards office to work? woot? And since then it started with the copy paste answers.
I had a case and got 7 times the same copy paste answer on my issue… imagine SEVEN times before they shut the topic. So was the support looking after 5 times and saying “yeah the same copy paste answer will help this time”?

Blizzard should fix their support or they will also lose the rest of their fanbase and just people who dont stand behind WoW will play it until they shut the servers because noone cares them anymore.

Not really, the templates were there way before Covid and the ongoing “AI” harassment spam. Your anecdotal experience during does not reflect any change in that.

In fact, they were there pretty much super far in the past when I wasn’t a MVP yet and even farther than that when I was a junior in other CS departments.

So you say you’ve received the same template, 7 times. Without further knowing about which topic and its receiving template it is I cannot comment whether if the template is correct or not.

As an example there have been players who insistently attempt to report bugs and/or submit feedback before through Support and have been repeatedly told no. That doesn’t make them wrong, as you said, your topic was finally ended after that.

Is it 5 times, or 7 times or how many times are you going to change up your story?

You don’t really talk for the fanbase though. Honestly, if you’re sincere about wanting to give actual feedback they’d need more than immature laughing, some randomised generalisations and actual examples.

Alternatively, you’re also able to fill out the survey ticket after each and every time the ticket is closed, which you should’ve noticed the past 7 times. Or 5 times, or how many times you’d like to switch it up.

The surveys do get read by the management team. Do note, criticizing the GM for taking appropriate policy (in)actions will not result in any action and neither would filling out the survey with “haha” or similar.

Hey,

I saw plenty of posts like this one and one that got an actual GM response so I don’t know what you’re talking about.

After the exactly 4 hour bot response I received I have not received another response on my ban appeal. This further strenghtens my belief that it was an automated bot answering me and not a human being.

What I showed you guys is far from being a professional template, if it even was a human he didn’t even bother taking a look due to his workload which is unacceptable.

If you can remember Blizzard layed off a huge number of their staff during Covid and the support hasn’t been the same since. You can try to excuse this however you’d like but it’s just cutting costs at the players expense.

Once again they did not address my concern about my character being moved onto TBC without my consent and inability to transfer him to Classic Era servers.

I’m sure this means nothing to you as you likely play Retail.

Saying that the consequences of my suspensions would have to be upheld in this situation is absurd, it lacks a basic level of human empathy.

I’ve put in months into this character and deserve to be able to transfer him to Era before the TBC pre-patch. Any normal person that has played the game would agree.

Sadly I do not think that the Support even play WoW at this point.

Mass report resulting in action by automated Blizzard’s system is not a secret. Blizzard stated that there is no such system in place, however actual evidence says otherwise.

There are numerous claims about capping a graveyard near AV general and finding a nice ban afterwards. I know what you’re thinking, those are unconfirmed claims and I agree.

That’s why I bring second, undeniable evidence that there is such an automatic action system and that is free name change. Just ask all players in your guild to mass report you and you’ll get a free name change, even if the previous name didn’t violate anything and wasn’t anyhow inappropriate. If this was done by an actual human GM, he wouldn’t force you to change your appropriate name regardless of number of reports. I know, this is a huge abuse of the system, but it’s also an evidence that there is such a system. Blizzard statements are just empty words at this point.

The forum is not the appropriate place for ban discussions/appeals. Since you have submitted a second appeal already, please wait till it is reviewed and a decision is made.
