this is a msg frow my friend to Blizzard:

Dear Blizzard, I have a problem in the last three month my Blizzard account have been hacked/given away successfully 4 times, the latest this morning. Two times I have successfully saved/blocked the attempts by reattaching my authenticator and changing back my e-mail. I have seen several mail/tickets requesting your support to change my e-mail and to remove my authenticator.

Hello Game master, I need help, my BattleTag is XXXXX, WOW account name is XXXXXX, but I forgot the Battle.net email address, so please help me to check and update it to my new email address XXXXXXX@yahoo.com. and delete the old authenticator and old devices in all accounts. Because it stopped working, I can attach a new one. thank you very much.”

This request all looks the same and it should be obvious for more than one reason that they are fishing attempts from hackers. You have promised several times that you have this under control and have taken measurements to prevent it from happening again.

We are aware of the multiple hacking attempts made to your account through our recovery systems. We have taken the necessary precautions so you don’t lose access due to them.

I hope to be seeing you in Azeroth soon,
Game Master XXXXXX”

I have asked what I could do to prevent this from happening and I was asked to change my e-mail after the third hack, so I did, that stopped the successful attempts for some weeks.

Besides that this is preventing me from playing and progressing in my favorite game for days, while you are working on the recovery’s, my guild mates and friends have stated to question if I am doing something wrong, your computer and e-mail must be hacked. Every time I get a mail notification from my Blizzard mail my heartrate goes up is this a new hack! Its staring to have an impact on my life and the fun and enjoyment I have playing your games whit my friends and family.

What can I/you do to prevent this?

You could get them to put a password or phrase, like banks use to confirm your identity or get them to lock your email address so it cannot be changed.

I take it you, I mean your friend, as you go into the first person later on, has done a full scan of your machine for malware.

I have no idea how the other person can get control as they need to supply a photo of ID to change things like removing an authenticator. If the account is on your name I don’t know how they could have gotten that, well I do know but it means you did something against he rules with your account or how you acquired it.

@OP: You’ve been advised that your “friend” is the only one to contact Blizzard… If genuine.
