Classic Era as well
I’m on Firemaw -EU - CLASSIC server.
How am i affected with this, when i’ve got nothing to do with ‘Season of discovery’
I certainly did not agree to this when purchasing this subscription.
Just to be clear, this is intended for Season of Discovery realms only.
I’ll try to follow up on this as soon as possible!
And you know, the most insane part?
I can still access auction(kinda), via my friends. I guess this is way of making game more socializing, rofl. Amazing, amazing company
At least now I know that this wan’t intentional on Classic Era servers, because not only me, but some of my folks have this restriction on Classic Era servers as well. Thanks for the answer.
Because of your actions, I stopped playing SOD,
because I don’t see the point in wasting time collecting items that you can’t use or exchange.
Tell me how should I buy fabric at auction or bags?? I couldn’t buy my bags at the auction.
Why play a game where the auction, exchange, and mail do not work.
I paid money for this, I can’t believe it, I hope someone will sue you.
Is this really legal and according to contract law?
There was zero mention of a 30 restricted period when I purchased my game time. Then the restriction gets imposed afterwards. So for the 12.99€ 30day game time in my view Blizzard did not keep their side of the contract.
I can see you imposing this new rule, by first warning of it, and then applying it for all the new subscriptions, mentioning it in the TOS and whatnot, but surely you can’t do it retroactively.
Anyone who’s a legal professional happen to have a view on this? I’m working for the company who owns this indie company but probably not with enough pull lol.
And it’s not just me stopping the game, the person I came to play with will obviously also stop.
You know what i think, someone really screwed up.
Because i’m on CLASSIC ERA - FIREMAW EU and i have this restriction, this issue affects thousands if not more on classic ERA servers…
Developer team should prioritize turning this back instantly, just get them servers offline for 15 Minutes and fix it.
I actually never posted on a forum for any game. I’m so pissed about all of this ruining my whole weekend gametime that i already posted 17 messages about this topic, it’s so annoying.
you do you expect me to buy raidconsumes for the next month?
Gotcha - it is not April 1st anymore.
Got 1 week left to the restrictions are lifted. Have already had this affect the last 3 days so 10 days.1/3 of my payment of the sub is for a limited game experience. I can not believe that a supposably professional massive game company pulls this kind of s##t to existing customers.
I do understand they want to make it difficult for the boters, but you kind of throwing out the baby with the bath water. The propper way to do this would be to:
My reaction is to stop my subscription since I feel duped. This is probably also a breach of several consumer laws (at least in EU)
this is the most stupid thing i have ever seen i just spend 15$ on a sub and i got to level 50 and is ready to raid but i cant because i cant buy coms on the ah nice job i wonder why new players arent staying
Hi guys we can’t do our job of banning bots and goldseller/buyers so here’s a quick lazy fix that basically closes SoD to new players. Lmfao.
I thought GDKP ban was so succesful, why are you putting in more measures that punish paying customers because of your own incompetence? Jesus christ Blizzard. SoD has been a complete disaster past P1, P1 was a great success though.
And companies cannot with any one sided condition cancel the consumers right according to EU legislation. For example many e-commerces might say that on this special product or discount there is no right to return, but there always is a 14-day right to return in EU, doesn’t matter what the seller says…
So for pretty much half of this phase, we’re not going to be able to use the auction house? That is the most ridiculous thing that I’ve ever seen you come up with. I’m leveling up earning nothing but quest gold which barely even pays for my skills with no way of trying to make a bit more selling stuff I find. I can’t even buy any decent bags!
IF there would have been a warning when I bought my subscription that these restrictions were going to be in place, then I’d understand it and have to get on with it, but there was NOTHING! New players being penalised because you can’t get a grip of the bot problem…this is the best you could come up with? The sub I just bought cost the same as everyone else’s…I should be able to have access to the same features as every other player.
It is so stupid
I cannot spend the gold I earn from quests to buy reagents for a profession that ONLY other professions can do.
I can’t share gold with a friend so that I can learn useful spells for myself, and this can continue ad infinitum…
There’s an exception to this, namely:
Which is a standard game store industry tickbox or informed consent before purchase. After that. you can only appeal to the voluntarily refund policy of the game store.
That would be a legal question, that doesn’t cover the purchase portion.
The exact EULA says that by buying the game it is delivered “as is” and “as available”. Technically, access is granted through gametime to all versions of the game up to your content expansion level.
Changes are always made to the game, but this was highly unexpected.
This is actually Section 1.E.iii, as Section 7 is “Indemnity”. E.i and E.ii also states from the same subarticles:
E. Alterations to the Platform
i. Patches and Updates: Blizzard may update the Platform or part of the Platform, including Games, in order to, for example, without limitation:
2. perform temporary maintenance, fix bugs, implement technical adjustments, and make improvements;
3. update or upgrade the Platform including updating the structure, design, or layout of the Platform;
4. balance, improve, update, or renew a Game;
5. ensure the security of the Platform; and
6. to combat illegal and/or harmful activities and the use of unauthorized programs or other activities which breach this Agreement.
And E.ii
ii. Unless otherwise required by applicable laws and provided that any such updates do not result in material derogation in the functionality of the Platform:
- You hereby grant to Blizzard consent to deploy and apply such patches, updates, and modifications; and
- We may update the Platform remotely without notifying you.
Should you feel that you want a (partial) refund because of security updates to the game to combat botters as many demands Blizzard to do so in the Classic games, you may open a ticket and enter in discussion to terminate your agreement with Blizzard.
