It was all of these. But i think we have heard your point of view. You believe that justice was served. I think that Blizz is effectively stealing money from its customers through random, unfounded and undocumented suspensions. LIke a capricious, arrogant dictator.
We can leave it at that. the value added of the thread was probably high for those who were wondering when and how you can get banned.
i will ride out the ban and in the meantime decide whether my love for the game outweighs my hatred for the company.
Also there is new management now, if i extrapolate from Bethesda CS (excellent) versus ActiBlizz (dogsh*t) i have hope that changes may be coming up.
You willfully AFKâd in a battleground, something you know to be against the rules. Then you got banned for it.
You follow the rules or you get punished for breaking them, that is how the world works. Whether you think the rules are fair or not is utterly irrelevant.
âNowâ? No. ActiBlizz have agreed to sell to Microsoft, the company takeover isnât going to be a fast process. You wonât see any benefits or negatives (depending upon your viewpoint) from this trade until 2023 at least. Season of Mastery will be over by then (it was advertised as a yearâslifespan) and weâll also be in WoTLK instead of TBC.
even for that last straw you have to make the assumption that i got banned for riding out 3 games not rezzing on the graveyard. which is highly unlikely.
it is much more likely that the algorithm simply puts FCs into the âinactiveâ bucket at some point due to no kills / heals / assists. the algos this company employs are unable to identify a bot after months and months of watching him farm in Hinterlands - just to give you an example
unless you live in North Korea you can have an opinion on the rules themselves. let alone the fact that you dont know what you are accused of until you are banned. and even then it is hard to get any info. I think if you can justify this for yourself, you have entered the realm of religion - you are a believer, no amount of evidence will ever sway you
I dont think you know how M&A works. But that would be offtopic now âŚ
Itâs not an unlikely as you think. Even in TBCC, one of my guildies received a week long ban for AFK BG Leeching. Another received a two week ban for âtoxicityâ in battlegrounds. He never said what he did, he just said he was banned for being toxic.
Battlegrounds are easier to monitor, and Iâm well aware of the botting situation. Bots are easy to spot by players and anybody paying attention to them, but Blizzard donât have active GMs any more.
This is an MMORPG, itâs a game. Itâs a game with a set of rules that you agreed to when you signed up. If you donât follow those rules, Blizzard have every right to punish your account however they see fit.
If you donât like the rules, you can either stop playing or you can try to rally the players behind you and talk Blizzard into changing them.
What you canât do is break them and expect to not be penalised for it.
Iâve received around 14 bans in my 15 years of playing this game. You always receive an email with a notification of your ban and the reason for it. You can also contact customer support and ask for more information and/or to appeal your ban. Sometimes Blizzard will accept your reasoning and will reduce the penalty.
Granted, you first have to dance around Blizzardâs automated system. A trick to note is that whenever you send a ticket in, the first response is always an automated one. Whenever I re-open my ticket after an automated response, I usually get an actual human response.
âŚI genuinely miss the old days when it just went straight to the human response.
I donât know the full details, but I do know that takeovers arenât a fast process. At all.
Sorry but that is complete rubbish. FC are by their definition part of the game. Anyone who knows their stuff can say of someone has the flag are taking part.
You seem to think that that one BG you did just before you were banned was the reason why you were banned, not the one you AFKed in a week before.
Ok mr psychic. Did i say it was? We canât know. We do know that random automated unjustified bans happen.
Comprehensive reading. Donât reply to me ever again you pathetic bootlicker.
