No, you will not ride a night saber or Argent tournament or PvP Alliance mounts as they will convent to Horde analogues and vise versa for characters of other faction.
Yeah, I know that those like Night Saber or PvP Alliance mounts will not be able in my Horde characters. I wanted to know those mounts that are from events like this ‘Brew’ event or ‘Halloween’ event, if I have them on my alliance character will I have them also on Horde one or should I farm in the other faction too?
I have ‘Brewkodo’ in Alliance, just wondering if I must “need” on dices on my horde character or not.
Nope, this is being implemented in WotLK in the next ICC patch - all in the name of ‘quality of life, speed, accessibility, and super-convenience’.
It means that every character on my account will have the same Netherdrake, Sea Turtle, Talbuk, Grand Black War Mammoth and Wintersaber Tiger I farmed my asp off for. All these other alts will be denied the same journey as my main, which really pizzes me off, quite frankly.
Oh, and bloody achievements are going to be account-wide too, meaning I now have a bunch of Loremaster characters, none of whom actually did all of the relevant quests to get it.
I guess the next stage in their plan is shared gold and items between all chars on the account, and there will be great rejoicing on these forums at the news from people who forgot that this game is supposed to be an MMORPG.
Any dev who actually had a heart and soul would have at least considered making this crap optional - you can toggle sharing on or off - but I seriously doubt that will happen.
A thing unearned is a thing without value, and convenience kills adventure.
It’s almost impossible to get other people to see this though. They just see: “Oh lovely! I now get this stuff instantly without having to put in that awful grind.” Forgetting the entire premise and point of having a classic client in the first place.
It was precisely this kind of thinking and the same shortsighted development decisions that created retail. As soon as you start pandering to people who demand instant access, convenience and instant gratification at all levels of the game you’ve basically forgotten the core premise of your game.
Has it ever occured to you that people who “did the awful grind” might want to be able to use the item if they changed main, or just because. They earned the item, your anal retentiveness about what char it should and should not be displayed on is your personal hang up. Don’t let the door hit your backside on your way out
Oh woe, whatever shall we do without your illusteious presence in the game, levelling endless alts, solo, on dead servers. The game will just not be the same without you
It seems both Blizzard and the community at large disagree with you. But by all means, don’t use the mounts you didn’t earn, nobody’s stopping you from putting artificial limitations on yourself. There’s no need to drag the rest of us down to be miserable with you.
But I am not miserable, I want to farm for the things I get.
And the fact that people on the forums, most of whom have been conditioned toward accepting instant gratification as the norm and forgotten what Classic is about, disagree with my notion that reward without effort is valueless and the Blizzard B Team listened to them does not make it a bad notion.
And and ‘don’t like it, don’t use it’ is the constant excuse that’s rolled out by defenders of destructive changes. Imagine they made an NPC that gave out free legendaries to any player who clicked it, and I responded to the backlash with: “well you could always just farm the raids instead.”
Not the point, the path has already been laid and farming it yourself when you could just click something and get it for nothing is a cheap, hollow substitute for the real thing.
If the player got the legendry first the hard way, then it got “transferred” to an alt much easier, maybe through some sort of RP questline, I’d unironically be okay with it.
Look, I do understand where you are coming from, and it is annoying that there probably won’t be wrath era without all these QoL conveniences for you to stay on and enjoy your particular preferred level of restrictions. But don’t assume your preferrence is the only correct one. No the game is not being “destroyed” by the shared mount tab, it is being “improved” for the majority while you admittedly get the short end of the stick. Well, /violin and good luck on era or whatever.
We’re far beyond that I’m afraid. I said so before and I say it again: the moment 2019 classic launched it was clear the game wasn’t going to be the same like it was almost 20 years ago. People zerged to 60 and optimized everything, it’s just how it is.
I don’t agree with you on instant gratification. YOU farmed for those mounts, not your characters. Unless you’re a super harcore RP’er that lives inside of your chars that is. YOU took time out of your real life to get something in game or got extremely lucky. It makes no sense to limit mounts to one character because you are not your chars, you are your account. You actually did already earn those mounts.
What reward w/o effort? You did complete the effort to earn those rewards. Again not to mention extreme luck, which is also not ‘effort’, right?
Example: you farm year for a mount and never get it. A new players runs the dung/raid once and instantly gets the mount. Is that fair? According to the game it is. He got lucky, you didn’t. Luck =/= effort.
Not remotely the same. Gear is and never will be account bound. Mounts/pets/titles do not grant player power. If you replace the legendary with mounts in your scenario you still wouldn’t be right, because how it is now you actually need to obtain the mount before it’s account bound.
You really don’t know how a mount farmer/collector thinks. He puts in more effort than you I bet, and if he finally gets that sub 1% drop after years of running that raid you bet he deserves the right to use that mount on all chars. Same with high end raiders who do difficult achievement runs.
Just like you can’t believe people like us are for account bound stuff, we can’t for the life of us understand people who are against this.
