I have a dream. A dream of shared reputation between my characters.
The way I see it working, is in one of two ways:
Either it will only be available to share after you’ve hit exalted, or it’s shared from the get go, but you can’t get reputation from quests more than once - meaning if you complete some normal quests on Character A, you can’t go and do them on Character B and get reputation again, or go and do dailies on A, get reputation, and do the same on B. The second option means you can farm reputation on different characters if you wish it, whereas the first one locks you to the character you started on, unless you want to start from scratch on a new one. The reputation will be unlocked when you hit max level for that expansion, so if Character A is exalted with The Frenzyheart Tribe, Character B will be exalted with them as well, when they hit level 80. The current expansion reputations shouldn’t be shared until a new expansion is released.
I also think you should be able to opt out of it if you don’t want to have it on a character, so something should pop up and ask you whether you want to share reputation with the other characters or not, the first time you log in. If you opt out of it in the beginning, you can choose to share it later on, but after you’ve decided for it to be shared, you can’t “un-share” it. An option I think is important, so this isn’t forced on anyone - and since it’s old content reputation, it won’t hurt anyone if it’s shared (unless it’s someone that want everyone else to be miserable with them, because they’re stubborn about it).
‘‘Hey who’s this guy?’’
‘‘noone here knows, but i trust him enough to give him some really high quality stuff for a steal that would normaly be reserved for higher ups, aswell as letting him wear our tabard’’
‘‘ah, okay’’
No, we need less account wide not more, get the game back to how it was envisioned, a character growing through a fantasy world, not a team of characters.
I would rather we get faster rep grinds if one toon has exalted. Similar to the one in MoP where you could buy a token on the toon with exalted and all your alts get like 50% accelerated rep gains.
No just that they individually count towards the rep achievement. i got “the Exalted” title because of it, huzzah. That and CoA neck upgrades can be done without the rep on alts.
What’s wrong with a team of characters (a personal guild if you want)? Having a team doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy the lore and specialization of each of your character.
I’m up for this. Is a massive quality of life improvement, and there are no real drawbacks.
or…alternatively ‘Lohsa has done so much for us, any friend of hers is a friend of ours’…
or at least just let us buy the flipping profession recipies for our alts.,cos i absolutely will not buy the products thereof from the ah…
in fact just give some love back to professions anyway…grrr…
look, if they did that then we’d have time to play other games and we can’t have that now can we…
ugh…like i can get anything else done during love rocket week anyway…
ok…i’m done…sorry…
The second they implemented anything account-wide (mounts, pets, toys etc) the individual characters as we knew them seized to exist.
My characters were indidvidual ones with individual achivements and milestones. For example, back in TBC I grinded my way to Exalted with all the alliance factions on my Dwarf, just to be able to purchase and ride the various faction mounts. Of all my characters, he was the only one who could do that. It was HIS achievement.
I felt it added both to the fantasy and the individuality of the character.
I understand that making stuff account-wide makes sense from a player-perspective, as I - the player - was the one who did all of that, and as such I - as the player - should also be able to enjoy fruits of that labor on all my characters.
Obviously they cannot remove what has already been made account-wide, so they might as well continue to add more. Gold for example. You log on to characters and send to others instantly via mail anyway if you should need it.
i pretty much agree Galander, but the biggest thing with WoW is it’s wide ranging appeal, it’s a lot of things to a lot of people…the game in many ways has become a victim of it’s own success…
*thinks about classic…
My point was: They’ve already started. The char-individuality (the part you quoted) is already gone. All my mounts are accessible by all characters, all my obtained transmogs are accessible by all characters, all my collected pets are accessible by all characters.
Whether or not I am also able to access more features makes no difference anymore. Its, in my opinion, less annoyance. “They did it with X and Y, why not Z as well?”
So while I agree to a certain extent with “worse is still worse”, I don’t think adding more will ruin individuality more than it already is.
Yes please. There are a few recipes that I could really use on alts. Plus it’d be nice to progress on Paragon boxes rather than hitting exalted with a rep I’m already exalted with on my main.
