They need to make everything account-wide since its the same person in real life who plays all the characters, puts the effort and time, and pay for the bills and food to survive and go work like a slave under some mofo to be able to pay for WoW-sub. But seems like from top to bottom of game makers even share-hodlers dont give two sheets about us.

Putting my money where my mouth is, you guys should do the same.
My sub expires the 5th of next month. Unlikely things will change at this point, we are just a metric to Blizzard.

You are like me. Reason I have my alts is that even despite my unconditional love for night elf death knights, I love being draenei paladin, human warlock or kul tiran druid. But guess what I cannot ever find out how hc nzoth is as warlock, or paladin.

yes i have the same issue and i really hope shadowlands delivers since their focus is player agency. hope i get beta and or alpha aswell. I remember reporting every bug in the BFA beta and i find it fun to make suggestions to better the game. As a child i always dreamt of being a game dev so i am really compassionate about this game. Ive loved it since Wotlk days and i really hope it becomes the thing that made them great again. What i loved about legion and wotlk was that i could login and do whatever i want. Freedom is important in all games. My favorite game of all time is Witcher 3. Imagine if each time you started a game session you would have to complet x amount of quests before you could continue?

I have never posted on the forums before. Been playing since 2007. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LET US HAVE THEM ACCOUNT WIDE.
My whole group of friends would love to play MORE on their alts, but don’t want to waste their limited freetime by doing the same things over and over. Some of the best essences are also heavily timegated, even if they started now it would still take forever. C’mon Blizz…
For my bank account, accountwide essences would be a big hit to take.
Because if it would happen and they become accountwide i want to swap some factions and races around to have fun on those characters.
I am still all in for accountwide essences, dont get me wrong.
I mean, looks alone are 50% dps. It works the same as: if you press the button harder, you do more dps.

all my friends would play again for sure. theyre just playing classic right now since theyre tired of retail atm. Problem is also how much of the requirements are timegated which is a huge problem for one of my friends who havent played since season 1.
IMO the gating for them SHOULD be removed if they are gained via old content.
I.e now were well into 8.3 mechagon/Nazjatar ones should NOT have a rep/Achiev requirement but they should still be bought with the farm-able spare crates and pearls. The EP raid essences SHOULD drop from elites in Naz or be bought by farm-able pearls.
This still means you have to go to the area and interact with it but its not a ‘you have to o this every day for a month’ thing. I started to do dailies on my monk again because i didn’t get the healer essences i should have from there. It sucks
yep i agree with you. there shouldnt be a need for my friend to be stuck in 8.2 while we are off in our adventures in 8.3
Currently 8.3s biggest hindrance is 8.2

I just was so hyped for BFA cause i thought they were going with the same philosophy towards alts as they did in the end of legion. And that is what has killed this expac for me. A good game imo is when you can start it up and you can do exactly what you want to do. Lately i find WoW to be filled with more stuff that you feel the need to do so you do not fall behind. I think that the majority of players would play more if it was more freedom. They should look back at wotlk and take back the aspects they had from there. One huge bummer for me is the timegating and feeling you have to do something first before you play the way you want. Theres a lack of character progression towards stuff, its more like how long can you wait for x things by doing repetetive stuff. And i feel like it has went more towards a mobile game than an mmorpg. Its like playing idle heroes. You do dailies and wake up the next day to do more. And things go towards infinity and you never quite complete the game. It just makes sure you keep on playing. But its a double edged sword, cause people get exhausted and sure you play cause you feel you need to do stuff. But if you look at successful RPGs like skyrim, fallout and the witcher they are very respected. Its the freedom that makes these games good and the feeling of progression and rewards that comes out with it. And even in 2020 i still play witcher 3, i can startup and just do what i feel like without nothing hanging over me. I hope these aspects of the game will return in shadowlands.
