Your reputation as a player matters far more in Classic than in later expansions like BfA where a lot of the content is cross-realm and you rarely if ever see the same names again outside of your friends/guild/m+ group etc.

I don’t think it’d be a good idea as a name-change could function as a ‘reputation-reset’ if you will.

The real bummer is stupid demon name when you’re warlock.

It astounds me how activi$ion have not noticed the demand for this yet. xD

It’s 2019 not 2004. There is demand for these types of services that don’t affect gameplay at all.

They will be here but we’ll probably have to wait about 10-14 months before the corporates of activi$ion cotton on. They are the ones who have the final say.

retail is in 2019. This is classic so 2004 it is.

Your reputation really doesn’t matter though does it? I’ve experience multiple ninjas so far and when its an item the rest of the group doesn’t care about, the response is ‘meh’. More responsibility needs to be held by us players on tackling ninjas.

This update won’t help ninjas for two reasons. Firstly, there should be a 3 month cooldown so you can’t change it all the time. Secondly, when you put someone on your ignore list, they will still be on your ignore list despite them having a name change. This way, even if a ninja keeps changing their name, they will eventually be on enough people’s ignore lists that they won’t be able to play the game. It’s really that simple.

It is simple. They bought them self good faith with Classic with the fans and community and they dont want to tarnish it with a short cited thing like name change. If it stays as it is people will have faith for D4 and next WoW expansion.Long term its better to keep Classic as it is.Not to mention name change was never a thing. They will lose more money if people would stop playing and having negative conatation with the fans and communitie.

Not something you seem to care…

It really does if you ask me. Back in ‘real’ vanilla the server I was on had several infamous players that would scam people out of enchanting materials or other craftable items, saying they could craft it and be handed free items, laugh and AH them.
Their reputation was slowly destroyed over a few months and when they wanted to start raiding the entire server had them blacklisted and many of them quit the game as they simply had noone to play with anymore.
Rep matters imo.

Came to Classic by Blizzard’s promise of bringing back “WoW as it was back then”… WITHOUT multiple realm changes, name changes, cosmetics, real cash mounts, LFG, pet battles, … and all the rest I consider nonsense of Retail.

Back in the year 100, iPhones weren’t a thing. It doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be better off if they had it. It’s 2019 and there’s no reason we shouldn’t take advantage of the technology we have now. The demand is there, and the overall benefit far outweighs the negative. In my eyes there is no negative. The only legitimate argument I’ve seen is ninjas, which is a very weak argument as my last post shows. Name changes/appearance changes are coming because it makes sense on so many levels, not least economically for blizzard. It’s just a matter of time, and we both know you’ll still be here playing whether Jimmy changes his name or not.

@Edure are you on a quest to change Classic to something that it is not? Or why are you so persistent in trying to get changes made to WoW Classic?

No i wount,so you want to tell me also something i should like? and you suppoes to know better?People play Classic exactly because its not the game from 2019,how hard is that to grasp. And is i’ve already said they probably are aware its better aside of realm change not to add anything else.Witch is a good thing,Brian and Alan are quite aware of MS for Classic, and that it would be a negative thing.

Pretty sure i know about who we are talking, cause i know 2 people from the forums who are adamant at it,wount say names.Dire hard retail fans.

I pretty much think whether we want it or not is immaterial. We’re going to see name, race and faction changes at some point because they generate real money. Really I would be shocked if we never got them. Blizzard is a business and if people want to pay them money to do those things, they will eventually let them.

That @Merra is to say that Blizzard would lure players into Classic with the promise of these things not coming to the game, and then later dishonor this … nah I think Blizzard realize that its not worth it and will stay true to the Classic experience. They already have Retail where they (imo) milk people of cash for short term profit at the expense of long term customer satisfaction … its good they do diversify and provide a MMORPG (classic) for people that are fed up with real cash mounts etc. It’s a bright new start for WoW.

Did Blizzard actually promise this? This is a legit question. Not trolling.

Well…we got realm transfers less than a month after launch. I understand they were brought in to fix an issue, but the point is we still got them. Back in Vanilla it was basically tough poop if you didn’t like the server you were on. It was grin and bear it, or make a new character. Not this time.

Well it’s not as if Blizzard released Classic out of the goodness of their hearts. It’s no coincidence that it was announced and released during when interest in Retail was super low, and this is after several years of Blizzard repeatedly saying it will never happen. Funny how the timing of changing their minds coincides with Retail’s slipping popularity

Classic players are being milked as well.

Yeah, I gotta agree… I’d pay 50 euros for demon name changes not player-character ones.

Yes they do affect gameplay in classic.

There was no name change service in vanilla. There should not be a name change service in the Classic. No changes, please.
