Activision Blizzard sued by California Department of Fair Employment

You are literally saying “don’t hire women into it” you’re the one painting men as sexually motivated animals whom can’t possibly do better my friend.

If you believed otherwise you’d be recommending they change their behaviour rather than the solution being to not hire women alongside them.

There once was a time when any news about blizzard was good news.
Nowadays any good news about blizzard is about as rare as finding a talking horse with a British accent

The hypocrisy of Blizzard who “cancel” people who get found not guilty from accusations. Are they going to ban themselves from the office now? I wonder if they are consistant when it comes to themselves.

Serves them right for cancelling all those innocents over false accusations.

Wanting the right thing is one thing, pretending that bad things wont happen when you invite trouble is another.

So are you saying you would hire women at a construction and if the 99% of your staff can’t behave you would fire all of them and close up shop and it is the right thing to do because they should behave and reality doesn’t exist, the only thing that has the right to exist is justice?

Where did I say all men?

I said hold those responsible accountable and some men.

At no point did I say all men.

It’s you saying all men talking about not hiring women and segregating by gender.

Guess what, women are perfectly capable of working within STEM including the gaming industry and have every right to do so without facing any discrimination or harassment and those who do discriminate and/or harass them should be held accountable and fired.

This goes for all industries and also works both ways, if a woman is responsible for discriminating or harassing a man she should also be held accountable and fired just for those who are gonna make that comment

tbh if 99% of employees can’t help themselves but harass women, their career is the least of their problems.

You hire the woman and then if any of the staff step out of line you fire them, and then ask the others if their livelihood matters more than them trying to show off their manhood.

The cost of rehiring staff pales compared to the costs of someone bringing a discrimination lawsuit against you in an employment tribunal, and having a body of staff whom engage in sexual harassment as your reason for not making the hire, will not be accepted defence, it will be an excuse to shut you down and fine you out of your backside however if you’re using that reasoning to prevent hiring women.

The solution is simple. Don’t hire morons and exercise zero tolerance on bad behaviour. Most people aren’t stupid enough to risk their income for an opportunity to flex their manhood stupidly, so once you make it clear you send people packing over it, the rest will fall in line.

Thanks, I think its been around 5-6years or so? Maybe a bit longer.

The forum changes are interesting, especially the automatic updates (instead of having to refresh for replies) that’s pretty neat.

I would question my ability to hire people if I end up having 99% of my staff incapable of behaving like a normal human being should in society.

Exactly this.

Spare the rod, spoil the workplace environment.

It’s bad for business as well.

So let’s say I have an all male construction team whom aren’t capable of behaving themselves around women.

So my guys now cannot go onto any site where women may pass by or be involved because all they’ll do is cause bad PR for my company and perhaps people coming at me legally.

It only works if we assume construction sites never have women on them ever or near them ever which just doesn’t happen. What my company is going to limit itself to building in the middle of nowhere and lose out on all the urban development projects? All because my guys can’t keep it in their pants? Yeah sounds like an amazing business strategy.

Meanwhile the guy who owns a rival company who fired ten of his guys for the same has recouped his losses by scoring a huge urban contract and isn’t fighting off complaints constantly. I bet he’d envy me for sure.

I can’t say it sits well with me with what I’ve read so far, I’m really struggling to give them a pass on this.

After the whole Chinese/Taiwanese/Hong Kong hearthstone thing, it is sadly not surprising. That incident was all you needed to know that Blizz is just like any other mega company in the world.

No integrity and company values changes based on who’s asking.

From one gay to another, judging by your attitude in this thread females pretty much want a man who is nothing like you.
