Activision-Blizzard's "inclusivity"

Blizzard put gay characters in the game, and it’s awesome but the more I play this trash pile of an expansion, the more I realize it was merely a publicity stunt to get cookie points on social media.
Meanwhile, Blizzards in-game practices have reached critical levels of corporate scum:

  • forced ore/herb scarcity and multibotters having free roam in the world; bots destroying the AH, as if the wow economy wasn’t in such a terrible state already
  • social aspect of the game being ravaged by boosting services, which leads to bad but rich players getting geared, screwing with the raider io/iLVL system and heavily reducing any chances for returning players to meet people in mythic plus or finding a good guild because they weren’t there during the first weeks of the expansion and they have a literal mountain to climb in order to get a chance of getting picked in a pug (if and only if they’re playing the godly fotm, that is)
  • content gating that ruins the storytelling (cool, learning about Kaelthas’ backstory 7 weeks into the expansion when I have been farming him for 4 weeks), just because you need to keep players hooked for at least 4 months. This REALLY shows confidence in your product.
  • loot scarcity, combined with a skewed RNG system rewarding people who are underperforming (only time I’ve looted from world bosses was when I was tagging and AFKing).
  • dispensable loot cluttering raid loot tables to make people come back hoping for more the next week, and getting 4 utility conduits. yay.
  • mission table beyond broken, can’t have those pesky players getting 120 soul ashes on each try now, can we? Go farm some more anima, pleb.
  • ANIMA. This is the most pathetic virtual currency I’ve come across in my gaming career. It’s the currency equivalency of reputation farm. PATHETIC.
  • pvp players HAVING to do PVE, PVE players HAVING to do PVP in order to perform in the content they actually enjoy. Another way of bloating game time to keep the shareholders happy.
  • classes being broken beyond repair because the class fantasy has eluded you, rendering players unable to join pug groups because their class is considered as “dead”. Bring the player not the class, remember?
  • content being erased expansion after expansion because you need to cut down on personnel

All of those decisions have been made because you are GREEDY. This stinks of greed. There’s nothing here but cookie-cutter corporate scummy practices in order to grease your shareholder’s paws ever more at the end of each quarter.

You are basically progressive on social media, but hardcore capitalists when it comes to business. You are liars.

Shame on you Blizzard for the way you’re treating your paying customers. This is everything but inclusive (since it’s been one of your main selling points), it’s straight up abuse. It’s not ok to use the LGBTQ+ community of which I’m part of and be responsible for such a cesspool of a gaming environment.

And for all of the “just quit” folks, I could quit, but I still have hope for the game I’ve spent 9 years of my life playing. The only reason I’m staying is because of the friends I made over the years.
Peace

A company wants money, more news at 11.

And? They arent mutually exclusive.

So you think ‘‘cesspool toxic’’ garbage is only towards LGBTQ+ and not every player?

Those are not mutually exclusive. LGBT are paying customers too of course they want them included.

Funny how a few gaming companies manage to make bank without abusing their community.

You and I have very different opinions on ‘‘abuse’’.

So you’re OK with everything I mentioned?

No, but I still wouldn’t call it abuse.

But I also dont agree with you to bring up ‘‘LGBTQ+’’ as if that’s relevant to anything regarding the game.

Cant comment on orbs but herbs? I have no issues whatsoever in regards of farming herbs. Least of all widowblooms.

Depends on the guild, people etc etc etc. And that new/returning players have to do catch up is by all means nothing new.

Not going to disagree here. And infact i find it utterly utterly utterly dumb that the Torghast Bolvar quest line is gated PER character per week. Not just irl timegated where like the covenants you can catch up to the current chapter in 1 week but nooooooooo you wait until reset day to rescue the next guy.

Havent gotten any loot of the world bosses yet. Given the ilvl is nothing out of the ordinary and the loot table is limited they could up their drop rate at least.

Conduits are not on the same roll as gear drops. A conduit dropping doesnt mean that it snatched away a gear drop.

Thats a covenant issue. Necrolords for instance just breeze through all of them.

I havent even once cared about Anima this expansion.

They dont have to unless they want to perform on the highest level possible. So basically no one. Slight exceptions may be trinkets from raids but in this regard: PvE trinkets have no place in PvP to begin with.

Bring the Player not the Class hasnt been a thing since a while now. They stated that. However in regards of pugs people will always favour the meta classes regardless if the difference is 10% or 1%.

This is the norm these days. Mega corporations act all virtuous and inclusive so the normies feel all fuzzy inside when they give them their money.
The reality is these corporations don’t give a flying f*** about anything other than making money.

Where was Blizzard when I was getting my *ss kicked for holding my BF’s hand in public 10 years ago? They started pandering to us when it became cool to be gay 3-ish years ago.

This is just a lame publicity stunt, I don’t feel included, I don’t feel proud, I just feel that my identity is being exploited for money.

Surprise to literally nobody. Everyone does this.

However, separate Blizzard the Company and Blizzard Workers, because its two different things.

Oh yes, I thought I made that clear when I started ranting about the shareholders and the scummy corporate people. I have nothing against the infantry, they’re doing what they’re told.

That’s not how you spell ‘Police’…just saying.

Well what do you want them to do then? Remove all mentions of LGBT? I don’t see how that does you any good.

And no gameplay problems have nothing to do with that, that’s something that affects everyone not just you.

Welp, that is totally unexpected… oh, wait…

If I ever want to know wether it is weekend or I just need to check these forums and look for posts like the OP… if that kind of whine about “I hate inclusivity in WoW” pops up, then it is clearly weekend.

Oh and, I think it is awsome that instead of pure straight white couples we finally get to see some a more realistic vision of inter-people relationships.

As for the other parts… well, they are as expected the usual BS nwich has been discussed in the thousand or so other whine posts.

Took them 16 years to add black people into the game. 16 years to move the color slider up a bit.
BLM movement starts to gain popularity > diverse skin tons added.
Feels…genuine? :man_shrugging:

There was black skin tone in vanilla.

euhm, you got your timeline quite mixed up there buddie… This seeing as we already had dark skintones for Humans since vanilla…

And the BLM-movement started to gain momentum in may of last year. SLs customisation and more diverse skintones were already announced during Blizzcon 2019…
