Adding jobs to wow

Not sure about the execution but I like the idea of having lore class dailies. We need class halls back! Such cool an immersive idea

All good, feels a bit like some class hall would-be-dailies. Another achievement paragon milestone to grind out for alt lovers.

But let’s take a dead serious design how these would really play out:

Warrior - Get on the battlefield and roar while swinging your weapons. Nobody fights you because everyone ran off in fear. Done.

Mage - Teleport to target, cast spell, target dead, teleport back, have tea. Done.

Monk - Meditate on top of a mountain. Just sit there in silence. Nothing for hours. I mean you get a liiiittle bit closer to being enlightened. Done.

Priest - [insert dark humor here] and stormwind royal guards come lock you away. Done.

Paladin - Just go anywhere and kill everyone and everything. Kiss your hand, point one finger up to the sky like you just scored in a world cup match. Praise the light. Done.

Rogue - Pickpocket DK

DK - Mad because no money. Go on killing rampage.

DH - Thinks DK is a demon, chase him.

Hunter - Chase DH cos the horns make him look like a moose.
circus music starts playing ♫

Druid - Put hunter in cyclone and lecture him how offensive that comparison is

Shaman - Start yelling at druid how that use of wind powers is unethical

♫ CIRCUS MUSIC INTENSIFIES !! ♫

Everyone is running in circles yelling at each other.
Azeroth catches fire and explodes.

Wow is already a second job
and I also have to pay for the privilege of working my bum off every single day. Don’t add extra things to do please

But I am unemployed :grimacing: hence why I have time to write these posts for the better or worse

It’s a nice concept, but it doesn’t feel like it would work in practice. The idea of creating daily quests for each class so they can earn currency to buy class-specific mounts or transmog is nice, however.

Not exactly the vulpera, but instead the idea/logic behind adding vulpera, like we could have had multiple awesome races that the community has been asking for for ages. Like Ogres, Jinyu, etc

Instead we got a cute fox race which in of itself isn’t bad perse, it’s just the blatant disregard of what the fans wanted that started there, wasn’t insanely present yet I’ll give you that, but from that point on we saw alot of core wow concepts being ignored /thrown out or retconned because it didn’t fit the tone of how they wanted it.

Of course some people wanted vulpera, atleast a fair amount I suppose, just felt a bit insulting how since bfa it felt like the community could say/do what they want and the devs wouldn’t listen because some dude felt like improving his self insert regardless of how it shows on the lore and therefor gave less effort with the actual story, that’s how we end up with SL/DF retconning so much because they have to cause some person didn’t do think past the thought of “would be funny if
”.

But I suppose you’re right, I have nothing against your race specifically, was mainly meant as a joking poke if anything.

You’re not being one, it’s a fair question. I won’t speak for other but, for me atleast it definetely feels like whenever people suggest something new it gets shot down without fair critique. But the problem with that is even though we might not like whatever it is they are adding, it never hurts to have more things to do in the game that are purely cosmetic. There is no downside yet it gets shot down, this completely kills creativity and , atleast for me, doesn’t make me want to know what the future looks like when anything new gets destroyed even though it’s purely cosmetic.

It’s like the archives event, it has it’s goods and bads, but if it aint for you then it aint for you, no one is forcing you to do it because it rewards purely cosmetic thing. This new concept would woork similarly, but it’s being shot down because I guess have a living breathing world where we would have normal jobs here and there, kills the “integrity” of wow I guess.

op has been using chatgpt bot too much

Check the above replies.

Sounds like a neat feature!

My class is jobless, not much change from my RL I guess

Jokes a side, I really like this concept, huge fan of lore and class themes, we lost it during last few years and would really like to see some updates on that field.

another job for DK ( seeing as people are struggling to fit them into a role )

  • Paranormal Detective / ghost hunt
speak with ghosts and the dead to solve a mystery, or murder

Doesn’t speaking with spirits and ghosts suits shamans better?

I can see death knights as maintaining the graveyards, and pest control. Or on the lines what Souldefiler mentioned, mortician, preparing the deceased for burial.

HavenÂŽt found a job for Warlock, demon hunter either.

Someone mentioned Dracthyr to have Mailman as a job and that could work.

that was me

Warlock
Summon stone mechanic

  • repairing summon stones outside dungeons

Demon hunter
Gymnast

  • Acrobatics / gymnastics, perform for a crowd of people, darkmoon faire circus stuff

Proffession should also have jobs tied to them, maybe I should write a separate post that or edit it in. For example:

Fishing - Fisher, catch 4 bass and 5 salmon etc and deliver them to the buyer.

Cooking - Similiar to monk but with cooking. Cook food in a designated cooking area in the city and serve customers.

Blacksmithing - Craft 4 swords and 3 shields and deliver them to the armory.

profensions would just look like Daily Quests though

i think class / race ones are better

Yea maybe

Altough the “quests” for these professions that you get from the job board could be randomised and repeatable after you finish one, and increase the progress bar along with the race/ class ones after you finish one.

I admit I shot this one down fairly quickly
Thats because the last requests I remember
Wanted to take wow completely out of the swords and shield & Magic sphere and turn it into a complete new high fantasy
Cyberpunk 2077 was used as an example
Some people want wow to evolve and become an entirely new thing all together. You wouldn’t even recognize it anymore.

Oh I actually didn’t know that that comparison was drawn, but ofc hopefully that isn’t the case. Ideally we all get to enjoy the wow ,that we have been enjoying for this long, for a while longer including with or without this feature.
