Hello, I know that what I’m about to say will probably not make any difference, but if we all do it together as a community, it’s possible that Blizzard will reconsider banning combat-related add-ons such as WeakAura, DBM, Hekili, etc. Well, I wanted to express my disapproval of this decision by Blizzard and kindly invite them to reflect and listen to the feedback from the World of Warcraft community. Many people, including myself, disagree with this decision, and I sincerely hope that they will reconsider before the launch of the new Midnight expansion.

All the encounters in Midnight are already designed with this in mind, on the top level you will be fine without these add-ons, if you are a good player, don’t worry.

To be honest the ship has sailed, even if Blizzard decides not to go ahead with the changes, some addon devs have killed their projects.

A lot of design work is being done to compensate for the loss of add-ons (Less intricate proc-interactions in specs, toning down mechanic-mania in raids), they’re not going to back down now.
And let’s be honest, the arms-race between developers and add-on writers had to stop at some point, and the best way to do it is just rip off the band-aid in one go.

Why would we do that? It’s the single best decision in over 20 years of world of Warcraft to ban combat related addons.

I find it kindof funny that ppl see weakauras and add-ons in general as “cheating”. Instead we’ll now have blizzards own certified addons that will help us “cheat” that are less optimized and have fewer customization options.
Ppl probably think that the best players are only good because of the addons and that in removing them, the gap will be smaller.
We’ll see how that works out :).

I’ve always played with minimal addons 
my DBM expired months ago and I don’t use WA… the only addon I use is plater for aggro.
This addon ban decision doesn’t affect me… or maybe it will because it gives me the upper edge for once against those elitists

This. The reality is that pros will still be doing the worlds first, and people stucked in heroic will be still stucked in heroic. The difference is that now everyone will be equally stucked with blizzard’s poor UI design.

a) The whole “this does affect me” notion makes me sad.
b) Plater is also on the list of addons Blizzard will break

I hope Blizzard will not reconsider. I want to express my approval of this decision and I’m happy that they finally listened to the feedback from the WoW community. Many people, including myself, agree with this decision and I sincerely hope that they will not reconsider.

Yes al 0.1% of you using these pseudo cheats. Tell me, why do you think the game has cross faction guilds? Cross realm guilds? huh? Do you perhaps think it’s time for a new direction to try and gain new players, perhaps from console who cannot download addons?
They’re going to implement the core functionality of DBM and WA within WoW itself so you won’t need those addons. There’s nothing to worry about and very little will change unless you have an ultra customized UI of WA configurations

I’m sure you’ll be able to clear 2/8 LFR and get you 300 rio in m+ even without addons if this is what you mean by “challenging and fun conent”

It’s so odd on one hand they claim they are simplifying classes and trying to reduce “cognitive load” because windwalker monks had to get hit combo into muscle memory, or having to remember a certain series of abilities during a offensvie CD was “too much”, something that addons helped with, and on the other hand they remove any and all ability to track cooldowns of your party and enemies, so you INCREASE THE COGNITIVE LOAD of having to remember, “Oh yeah cr was used 129 seconds ago, and their external was used 18 seconds ago, and my wall is coming up in 34 seconds” and plan from that instead of just looking at omnicd
