Addons in Midnight ⚠

Im againts all addon ban.

Ofc addons which tell you what to, where to go ect should be broke down. Ofc there are special cases like bosses tuned that (fractalus example) way, so these addons had to made.

But tracking your personal cds, resources should be allowed.

I feel its rushed, i dont think 5-6 months will be enough to blizz to “replicate” the addons they promised, it should be done 1 by 1 on my opinion.

Also what if one blizz “addon” broke down? When it gonna be fixed? After 1 week, months? 3rd party addons have their own programmers, so they can focus on it asap.

you know its very easy for me because i only use few light addons. and do everything else with my mind, so when i heard that addons are going to be removed or something like that made me happy.
because im positive that this is a chance for blizzard to fix the problem.

even if they cant fix then they maybe bring them back or do something else /
so for someone like me its okay either way

This whole thing started with Blizzard being morons and is ending with Blizzard being morons.

They shouldn’t have started an “arms race” to begin with, they should of let the people using them who complained game was too easy quit.

Instead they took the route of appeasing those people by making the game harder and harder until they lost over 90% of their players.

This won’t fix anything as they’re supposedly making the game “easier”, making the tryhards mad, while cutting casual content, making the remaining players mad.

People saying they’re prepping wow for console, where im over here thinking theyre prepping for maintenance mode.

I’m all for using the things blizz add in, however… Most of the things that have been added into game were added because people were using addons, and blizz stole the ideas xD. So can blizz be trusted to inverate on their own?

Are blizz going to replace the stuff we actually need? Like dungeon timers?

Ppl will make macros for this, if not it would be unaviable to do high keys.

I always tried to play with least amount of addons and with least changes.

The dbm stuff and other things like that will be gone.

WA I might miss. The small things I would prefer to notice and I just made WA for. Then again wasnt blizz putting in their own version (which probably misses a lot of features). Who knows.

Anyway, Im the guy who continues playing normally on patch days when i watch everyone complain that they have to update all of their addons and how much work it is. Minimal addons. That is the way. I hope the things I really want to keep stay around.

That would be coordinates and WQ addons. Specially WQ addon that works the way I want. The really big ones that add 23534 features and change your UI significantly and stuff you cant turn off arent the ones I want. I just want a damn list and last time I had to find one, it took time.

Finaly someone with some commom sence. I have been saying that tje arms race is an arteficial issue for quite some time now.

Didn’t Metzen say they had content for the next 10 years or something?

And this is perfectly fine, let the skill of the player decide where you belong to, not the ability to study and implement the addon mini-game.

Good Riddance to add-ons, No more cheating to bypass boss mechanics.

No its not fine. Skill has nothing to do with any of this. Its mechanic telegraphing and visability, more specifically Blizzards very poor design of them in the last 20 years.

Mechanics and their telegraphing will be different for the new encounters designed with the add-on changes in mind.

Maybe this video will help people who are thinking ALL mods are getting nuked are going and some mods are still working:

I disagree. Blizzard are right. If they cannot design a raid encounter to be solvable without the use of addons blizzard have failed in designing a raid encounter.
There is no thought in the game right now. WAs and other addons literally tell you on screen what to do. It has became an uphill battle of dev addons. They have had to make the game way harder than it needs to be. Because addons are playing for us.

They say they will but I have zero confidence in them doing a good job at it. Like I said in another topic one of the core issues is cast and buff/debuff visability, something that has never been adressed before and from what Ion has said about this is “Reduced casts” and “reduced mob density”, non of which is something that we want or adresses the issue directly.

They worked on it for multiple years. They just announced it because their prototype is finished and now they ask addon devs for feedback.

They ARE listening to the feedback. Why do you think they are making these changes? People want this and it will most likely be a very good change for encounter design.
It will just take a bit of time for people to get used to it

Or how about you just LET PEOPLE SEE WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE GAME???

Like how it is right now?

Do people seriously want to go back to 2006 and have stopwatch macros and random third party overlays to track these things?

I think you people are stuborn you have to understand removing these addons means the scripts of the raids dungeons will be more simple which its for you people to not complain the game its complex and its actualy very healthy change for the game also the raids and dungeons will be more accesible since you dont need now thousands of addons weakaura setups and so on , so please stop speaking about addons its very good change
