what a bad solution to fix RMT. Why dont you focus on the actual problem instead of ruining the game experience for legit players.

You just watched and “allowed” while rmt guys has been …ing up all of ours classic experience.

They killed open world, they killed leveling dungeons, they killed pug raids, they killed everything we come for to the classic…

And you just watched silently. 3 ENTIRE YEARS.

You can still solo dungeons. It’s just slower and require to pull less mobs.

This hits the wrong crowd, why dont you just do something about the botting problem instead of cutting of a portion of the game that a lot of people enjoy, solo instance farming. by all means the xp nerf to groups with a lvl 70 in them is fine, but that should be enough to fix boosting, the botting problem needs another solution than mobs teleporting and ignoring slows, this also hits normal groups like spellcleaves. there must be another way to fix the botting issue.

yeah that should be more than enough, they should let classes that are able to farm instances solo do so, its a flair that certain classes have that makes them unique.

We’ve experimented with similar changes to most dungeons on our Season of Mastery servers, and we’ve found these changes to be very effective at reducing the efficiency of boosting groups.

You forgot the point where it also punished player who were playing normally, whenever they accidentally pulled too large groups, and were hanging on teeth and nail, just to get wiped because they suddenly couldn’t be controlled by the lifeline called a mage.

Yes, it stopped boosting for happen, but the cost wasn’t worth it. If it affect a normal group, it isn’t the solution, it is just the cause for another problem, one that you, yourself created.

Could you explain this further please as I’m with the guy you responded to. If a dungeon can still be solo’d (albeit a bit slower); why are certain players making an issue of not being able to solo dungeons?

This is not the right fix… just fix xp gains and leave mob behavior as it was. If u would really care about the health of WoW you would prohibit GDKPs. GDKPs are the sole reason for RMT and the cancerous infestation of WoWs world

Nerf is good and no more annoying LFG bullletin freezes from the boost spams.

However, now its impossible to help 60-65 guildies in the dungeons as 70 level since it drains XP from them a lot, while the average level of the group is not that high (around 64). Hope it will be adjusted in WOTLK.

I have grave concerns about this change coming wrath. I`m not exclusively a solo player, i have my raid team but i did want to hop on a fresh server and do my loremaster and achievement points solo as much as possible. I was looking forward to solo some dungeons like stratholme for the baron mount etc.

When nothing is changed we end up in the following situation

  • we will be able to solo old raids, like ZG for the mounts
  • we will NOT be able to solo low level dungeons for other vanity stuff

Seems the most weird situation where we can go and fight the firelord ragnaros himself but die to a bunch of lvl20 mobs in stockades.

How can you sell this to the playerbase?

Dont get me wrong, i love the EXP changes to make boosting dead so less gold goes around in the economy but unless you ban botting for 100% this wont make much of a difference in goldselling/buying.

You do punish legit player like myself that absolutely looked forward to soloing some old content.

I advise You to go visit some of those instances. They are still soloable, You just can’t pull large packs of mobs at once. Just today I was doing some quests in SM in preparation for loremaster and it’s completly doable. Got kicked a few times which resulted in one magic scholl locked for a few seconds, but still had no trouble killing the pack I pulled.

Just did slave pen on my 64 rogue with a 70 and there was no issue 2k2 xp/mob (rested xp)

GDKP in itself is not problematic, its the fact that GDKP runs on botted money. You think that warrior that paid 200k for thoridal spend hard legit hours killing mobs or frantically mine/herb for months?

GDKP is used for money laundering, nothing more nothing less. That`s why everybody hates it. Even if you 100% banned bots and GDKP would run legit on item bids in the 10s of golds, not 10K’s of gold, it would still have this stigma for years to come. SO yeah, while its a legit system in and off itself, its very vulnarable to be abused. Which it is right now.
