Boy, ‘tis about time someone started this storm.
Lemme begin… Lack of people who actually roleplay instead of standing out in the Cathedral Square.

Walking into a holy site and immediately being questioned why I don’t have a surcoat and if that means I’m after a job.
Ortellus being tired i.e. Tirellus
“Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but stay a while, my full backstory maybe?”
People with lacking mental capacity being allowed on the internet.
It’s this, Ortellus is tired … That’s all …
Also, i can see another WHAT’S WRONG thread.
Also Crowton, do not blame me about this, but this should be here as well, as a FACT:
Anyway, i can say RP in sw can be fun, mostly with friends.
I mean if you ain’t in a Guild or ain’t part of the weird Stormwind Cliche basically asks people to form gangs and either run Guard RP, or Criminal RP to actually get any ‘RP’ was my big issue.
Stormwind RP is actually enjoyable if you ignore the people with questionable profiles, Trolls and LOLLERS.
Huge amount of players = Chances of good RPers being there is high.
Just open your eyes.
(and don’t let one bad player ruin your mood.)
I often see people complain about guilds recruiting in Cathedral Square and while I get why they might have problem with it, I have yet to see someone post an alternative. Where are they supposed to do it then?
Trade District is obvious choice, but the whole area is unusable for RP and Cathedral Square pretty much took over its role as main hub of the city. Point of recruiting is to actually recruit people, so doing it in some area that is rarely visited doesn´t make sense.
And no, not doing it isn´t an option when only small portion of playerbase visits forums or uses AA.
Did this really need another thread?
People who play some kind of alternate history setting where Stormwind is a feudal patchwork of bickering fiefdoms run by noble Houses and their private armies.
Recruiting can be done in a number of ways in any location. The problem with the Square is that instead of drawing in quality role-players, the placed tends to draw in the opposite. Bringing down the appeal of guilds that recruit there, especially those that accept every person that even glances at their banners.
I’m all for meaningful recruitment that involves community endeavors. A public event by a guild to draw in prospecting participants, if you like what you see then join, if you don’t, move on.
But it boils down to effort. It takes less effort to stand in the square. It also takes less effort to lose that appeal BY recruiting at the square.
But that’s just my opinion.
I vowed not to say a thing in one of these threads but… I failed.
These threads still need to stop though.
I don’t want to play another Bioware game
Damnit man let it die!
What is the god damn point of making this same thread over and over again? Plus this topic was covered in other threads hundred of times.
Sometimes it looks like people are making these just to have a thread with lots of replies lol
haha yeah who would ever do that
This isn’t a Stormwind problem but a universal one and a symptom of the commodification of characters as a product to market and not people to portray in a creative exercise. It sells the concept fast to the potential buyer of valuable RP time, attention and influence, giving the seller social capital.
Or, it’s a sign of an inexperienced player overly excited to infodump on others about their amazing creation as soon as humanly possible…
Stormwind is a mixed bag, it comes with the territory. It isn’t so bad that I can never RP there.
Tho tbh why more people aren’t RPing in Boralus is beyond me
The amount hostile NPC’s we have to navigate through just to get to the other side of the city without a flight path.
I find them terribly annoying, (though it doesn’t stop me from trying).
