I don’t know about neutral, frendly mobs and NPCs, but you can select mobs by pressing TAB. There must be a certain kind of shortkey to circumvent that.

No, you cannot press “TAB” to select NPCs.

I know. You can also click on the ! or ? or other icon above the NPC you want to select and interact with. There is always a way to select the NPC if you cannot click on the NPC self with your mouse.

I was just clearing your confusion because you said that you didn’t know if the “TAB” works for neutral, friendly mobs and NPCs. Yes, there are as have been mentioned further up in this thread.
