After Season of Mastery, do characters go to Classic or TBC/Wotlk Classic?

I think this has not been answered yet as the only answer Blizzard gave was that we will keep the characters. Ok, but where we will keep them?

Will the characters be transferred to Classic WoW or will we have a chance to move them (paid or not) to the current TBC or Wotlk Classic expansions?

You will be able to copy your character to Classic for a short period of time and then the SOM servers will be shut down.

As for copying them to TBC, they havnt said anything about this but they may add it as option? Or even bring out a TBC:SOM server and let you copy to that. Noone knows yet

I hope tbc isn’t an option. The character clones from last time are the reasons why Era realms died as soon as tbc released.

I thought it died because no one wanted to be stuck on Era?

Nope. PAID clones are the reason Era is so empty now.

No way one-time 15€ payment can be a reason not to play a game you like.
People are paying hundreds of euros just to transfer their alts to megarealms, but somehow 15€ here is such a problem.
Truth is people were done with Classic and moved on.

They did … he’s just delusional.

That is not the only reason. Fotm is not the only reason either. The ballance in Classic is just way off after Naxx release. P servers never really made it for long after Naxx. PVP for example, besides not existing due to a lack of players, is just no fun with some people having Naxx gear and others not. Also, people feel “done”, once they’ve cleared all the raids. Blizzard also just seriously messed this up. A real and radical merge of servers should have been announced right away, plus free clones. For other people, it is just a lack of people to play with resulting from all these reasons that keeps them away.

I much prefer Classic to TBC, but I still went on to TBC (only to then stop my sub and come back for SOM^^). For me, a real Classic+ would have been perfect, but I know I’m not going to get it, so I make due with season or just not playing.

I do hope for your sake, that the end of SOM will flood some more people to era.

One time €15 times number of toons - I’m an altoholic and I did not pay (Moved my maim to TBCC to be with guild, rest stayed in Era, where I play).
Also many did not pay for something they thought should have been free.
We’ve had this going before, with most saying NO to paying and choosing TBCC over Era, so I think I’m right in saying that PAID cloning is at least a big part of the answer to the question why Era servers are not as populated as they could be.

I play exclusively PvE, and there are few, but nice players on the PvE cluster in Era. I feel good there. Thank you.

If people really wanted Era, they could have stay in Era and not paying a dime.
Think many expected to play two versions of game for same price while occupying double server resources, going to tbcc and having ftp vanilla on the side.
Im having my own private business and Im used to pay for everything, getting nothing for free nor I can give anything for free to customers, occasional discounts at best.

Remember when Blizz murdered classic realms out of greed. I member.

I stayed in Era. Problem is that many wanted both, and yes both games for the same price.
And Blizz chose the here and now income - paid clones - as ooposed to longer term income from subscriptions. Sometimes you have to choose, and in my opinion Blizz did not choose wisely here.

You should be able to clone yeah. Classic era realms are dead for many reasons. If people cannot clone they’ll likely just quit. Blaming the clone system for classic era being dead is kinda silly.

Bold of you to assume people only play one character.
