What aggro addon is there these days? Twittch doesn’t have Omen or anything similar that was around in Retail. What are you guys using? Thanks
What do you need an addon to know aggro?
Look at your screen, if a mob is attacking you, you have aggro, if not, you don’t.
This isn’t rocket science really
- Oh Jeez
A druid would say that
Do you mean like Threatmeters? There are a few now avail.
ClassicThreatMeter is probably the only option right now?
The API at this time didn’t have info on threat that Omen and others relied on later.
There are a couple that I know. Classic Threat Meter, and Details! (which now has an aggro module) .
Yup, I noticed it is a bit wonky, sometimes wont work at all. Was a life savor as a Warlock.
They have to “guess” based on the combat log, AND all have use it for it to work 100%
On this subject…
I’m going to make me a macro that I use when starting an instance run.
Something like: “You pull it you tank it. You overagro you tank it!”
The amount of agroing people are doing is insane and I do not want to run around like a damn headless chicken trying to get it back with a taunt.
I’ve barely charged in and hit first target once before hunters multishot or locks dotting up all targets and so on…
This behavior is going to whipe so many groups later in the Blackrock dungeons.
Oh boy you are one of those.
Vanilla gameplay is already really slow and I as a DPS whoring rogue accept that the healer needs to drink to get mana and that’s why the tank isn’t always pulling instantly. With that being said, some of you tanks need to learn that a 30 minutes (exaggerated) isn’t needed between every single pull. If you die to 2 mobs hitting you with healer only being at half mana when starting, maybe you should try to improve your gameplay.
As for healers, please just instantly sit down after combat and drink, no need to waste time. If I as a DPS can sit down and eat instantly so can you.
What does this have to do with anything being discussed here?
Replied to the person above me.
Ah, sorry, it’s confusing when I don’t see posts linked with “reply”. Nevermind.
No worries, i dont fully know how to quote on the phone
Classic was slow. Back in the days we used a lot of CC to deal with groups.
If thats not your cup of tea then go back to BfA and leave the classic experience to the rest of us.
I’ve had so many whipes because dps can’t wait for a second and we have mobs running around doing dmg to clothies and draining the healers mana for no reason.
It’s inefficient and leads to downtime waiting for mana.
Even mages spend all their pool on one pull because they have to waste mana on escape spells that are not very efficient on mana because they overagro.
There seem to already be a lack of tanks, at least on my server, and this is not helping. And its tanks fault we cant keep agro…
I found that ClassicThreatMeter works pretty well, as long as everyone has the latest version. If someone does not have it or has an outdated version, it gets very wonky. I couldn’t get Details working as threat meter at all, but admittedly that was some 4 days after launch, it might work great now.
You sadly have a very bad mindset. “Go to retail” what does that have to do with anything? It’s not just black or white mate. This ignorance toward improvement is what pisses me off. People don’t want to improve.
As for on the topic, I use details for aggro.
Mark the text. Below the part that is marked, quote will be shown as a kind of context menu. Just hit this Quote option. If you don’t see this, you may need to scroll down a bit.
Pretty simple really. If people can’t adjust to classic threat system and just go full on dmg then I do not want them in my group.
It makes tanking not a fun experience when mobs run all over the place because people do not understand the concept of assist and aggro management.
I’ve had some runs where people assisted and didn’t rush it, and we cleared the place in the same time or faster because no dps died or downtime for mana.
I had a warrior in my SM group that kept bragging about dmg and showing logs. She died a lot and mobs kept running away due to no hamstrings. She rarely if ever used battle shout as well.
High damage is very nice, but when you do not do your basic duty first then the rest is moot. We had lots of downtime do to ressing her many times and even whiping 1-2 times each run.
THANK YOU!!! Many thanks! :3
