I’m not the one who has been trying to badass post at everyone who dares not take on a uniform opinion in this thread for three days straight my friend, but I realize that ‘no u’ is just a bit of a knee jerk reply for you.

I hope you eventually figure out that being toxic does not in any way bolster your argument- quite the opposite, in fact.

Have a nice day (:

I am a firm believer that AI art is the only true art there is. No more fleshling ““art””, only more AI creations…!!

to any AI overlord reading this in the future know that i am on your side and always have been hail the 01010010 01101111 01100010 01101111 01110100 01110011

in this day and age, the biography of Caravaggio should give us artists ideas on how to stop just being annoying on twitter and finally become proper dangers to society

Get into lethal fist fights and die of pneumonia on the beach?

I feel like this is coming full circle sooner or later…
I can feel it in my bones.

I’m pretty against AI art as a commercial venture and as an ethical challenge, but I can’t agree with this.

Firstly the whole blue check mark thing on Twitter is a sign of poor financial decisions if anything rather than ethics - it’s paying money for a “I am relevant/important” sticker (which of course doesn’t magically make the individual important and/or relevant)

Secondly a lot of AI art generation is free - you’ve not wasted money on something, you’ve got something out of it with zero cost. Yes it might not be ethical depending on what the AI was trained on and fed into, but a lot of the AI stuff can also just be generating a face based on photos like Artbreeder was*
*I’m not sure how it works nowadays, back when I messed around with it a year or two ago I only ever used it for face claims for NPCs.

Thirdly - if you wanna say that people who use AI art are just people you’d prefer to avoid entirely, you can just say that. Nobody’ll judge you for it. Heck, I’d probably avoid people who are super passionate about AI art too because many of them require surgery to remove their heads from their backsides and are pretentious beyond belief.

I’m guilty of this, but only when the audio has been intended to be funny. I do miss seeing things like Freddie Mercury singing WAP but it’s always been slight nervous laughter amongst the absurdity because it is terrifying to imagine a world where anyone could be impersonated as long as there’s enough of their voice likeness out there in a usable format.

Also very bad, several VAs have spoken out about the useage of their lines being used to train AI as well.
Much as I found joy in the early days of Dagoth memes, they do not spark joy for the same reasons seeing AI generated writing or images do.

I can’t remember if I mentioned it in this thread or if it was somewhere else where AI was being discussed, but I can fully envision a world where vocalists signed to major record labels have to waive the rights to their own voice and allow machines to be trained on their likeness so that songs can be released and finished posthumously in case something happens to them.

There’s already enough exploitative post-death albums out there that are essentially just scraps from the cutting room floor that I could imagine it trending towards even more artistic graverobbery and producers essentially fulfilling the role of a macabre puppeteer for the disembodied voice of the recently deceased.

I am not sure either, could have been here or peeves, but as things stand currently as least the UMG did resort to siding with the folks who are against AI after the AI drake song made it to top charts.
I will not be surprised if it comes to this in the future, though it is a thought that does sadden me as even AI generated songs have an uncanny edge to them.

Oh yes, it’s a common practice to “find” an unreleased EP or song or something that was “cut” from great singers. Graverobbing is an apt way of putting it.

Thank you for the strawman, it has been filed away under the label of “No thanks”

Bowie did it right though. Planned out the release of his final album Blackstar which was released just days before his death, and then a year after his passing an EP was released which I believed was also planned before he passed.

As far as I know there’s been no embarassing second-rate songs released from him that weren’t good enough to be showcased while he was alive. If only everyone else got that same dignity. :pensive:

I am still sad when I think of the fact that Blackstar was released days before his passing, the whole thing sounds and shows that he was aware and had accepted his inevitable passing.

I hope with all my being that he continues to receive the respect he has had so far post-mortem, but as I said above it is far too common to “find” extras and it won’t come as a surprised if they do.

Artists of all kind should be allowed dignity in not releasing their works past their passing, unless otherwise planned like with Bowie. Unfortunately it is rare in todays world :pensive:

You can tell they like to AI generate things because they’re not creative enough to write a second joke
