AI art and AA

a billion lost would absolutely destroy nearly any of the image-AI based companies, they ain’t exactly google or facebook, and it’ll cause a huge chilling effect on further investment

I can’t get an Audi A5 right now either, insisting I don’t steal one until I can isn’t ‘classist’ lol come on

I’m from this kind of region myself and I refuse to believe that -everyone- is working for westerners/at western prices exclusively, unless “western price” for you starts at like $20

Then. Don’t. Get. It.
Or save up.

I have art of a couple of my chars that was gifted to me, but none of it is is linked on my profile.
Let words and imagination do the work. It’s RP!

Be a responsible adult, save up money, and then lose it all when you buy yourself a cool piece.

This is the way

Yes actually. Not sure how good it will drive, but we’re at the point we can do this.

Or learn.
You could learn.
That’s free. And you get to have the art exactly as you want it.

Always an option.
Good hobby that can evolve into more.

Also, learning to draw more can help appreciate the time put into the art you look at/buy.

What a lie!!!

I’ve been drawing since I was so young and i’m nearly 33 and I still cannot DO IT :((((( I can draw kinda, yes, but the way I want it?! Naw :(((

So much hard work…

Looks at AI :eyes:

I don’t think it is true. The online market for, say, WoW character art isn’t nation-based, so people from countries with lower salaries can ask as much as people from countries with higher salaries.

Also I think it’s a bit weird to go “it’s fine to do this action to a big corp, but not when [I classify] this group as an underprivileged category.”

Some artists may be underprivileged as they’ve been called, but they’re very much individuals of the first world who had the chance to study digital art (thus have basic commodities and more) and arguably have a stable family capable of giving them a hand if they don’t find a job.

This is not to say anything against or in favour the idea that AI art is theft - I think it is based on what Acrona said in the other thread (but at the same time the issue appears rather convoluted and I’m not going to enter the debate about that bit), I just find the “it’s fine if it happens to them, but not to my pals” a bit of a weird point to make.

…that being said, I suppose if we translate the damage done in a numerical value, a Corp takes little damage from an individual, say, streaming a movie. Speaking of which, is there anything you guys recommend?

                           _________

As for the actual topic, I will add my two cents: something the AI can’t replicate is the inherent human value of an artist’s work.

The fact that someone has been working for nights on your artpiece gives it an unique story - it’s not just a pretty picture, but it stands there to testify a person’s process of emotions and style. This “behind the scenes” adds an unique value to the product.

Besides, it is a process that connects you and the artists, and more at large connects you to a community of artists, other people who share the passion for these projects.

I find this remarkable, an added value to human made art, born out of genuine passion, and something that AI cannot replicate.

It’s absolutely fine to do many things to big corps which are not okay to do to underprivileged categories. corps are not people

you get it
