AI art and AA

Well in that case brb, gonna go tweak all of your character art a little and use it as my own.

This argument is a perma L.

Sorry, I don’t make the rules.

Overall this really doesn’t matter. It was false advertising. I like cheap pizza but when I do go out to eat in a fancy restaurant you better believe I don’t want to see that there. No matter how much I like it.

And to be a bit more on the point you may have wanted to go for: People often enjoy the idea of something more than the reality. Nothing odd there. That’s why you’re supposed to encourage people to try things with an open mind.

That’s fine I hope you manage to get an image that helps you portray how you envision your character

From one side more than the other.

I don’t think it should be overly shocking people are emotional or frustrated at the potential of art and literature, things deeply rooted in the Human psyche and creativity, being stolen by the thousands every second by an uncaring machine. This thread stopped being about AA and AI art about 120 posts ago and went on to a discussion about the much larger and more perilous issue at hand with AI as a whole.

I’ve already stated my opinion but I’ll restate it for clarity’s sake: I wouldn’t personally consider it moral or ethical to be publishing AI art or literature anywhere at current regardless of attitudes like “lmao calm down its just an rp hobby”.

I agree, though I don’t think we are talking about the same side.

Spotted the Whatifalthist watcher.

Right, so you think the side that thinks banning AI art is gatekeeping but banning OOCers from the realm isn’t is the sound one?

Your definition of toxic seems a little wonky there, bud.

In this thread:

Gate-keeping art

The Free Market is great, until it’s my turn on the chopping block. Then it is the worst thing that has happened to humanity.

Haha, I identify as a “”“communist”“”, therefore I am anti free-market! But you won’t be seeing me doing much of anything that actually benefits the collective proletariat, and I support the most anti-cultural ideology on earth that would probably send me to a gulag for what I draw

Perhaps we should reconsider our choices and go outside. It’s spring, and plenty of grass to be touched for all of us.

It by definition is yes. As is banning people who don’t have an interest in RP from RP realms. Both are gatekeeping.

Though I can’t recall making any single comment on gatekeeping in this entire thread you’ll have to quote me on it.

Syelia did, and you’re saying they’re less toxic than the people standing up against theft.

Theft of what, by whom?

The point people make doesn’t determine how toxic they are being. Someone can be completely right and still a piece of insert word. And vice versa.

Of art, by AI, i.e. what has been discussed for the majority of the thread before you dove in with your attempt at a gotcha-go-outside-moment.

Ah, so what you’re saying is we have to be cordial while our completely sound arguments are being tackled by strawmen?

I’d be sent to a gulag for a lot less than what I do or do not draw.

Anyway AI Art isn’t art, art is a luxury and bash the fash

True, I am way less toxic than many people in this thread.

today i will log into my rp hobby that i pay 14 bucks a month for and type 7 words then click 2 buttons to have a machine write a story for me + generate a reference for my barebones trp character sheet because i don’t have enough time to do so

then, with the time i have earned by having the data-scrap-o-2000 machine make a story and sketch for me, i will argue for 4 hours with people online because they disagreed with me doing this and posting it in a public forum and compare this to be just like that time european tribes moved into roman territory in 200 a.d (just like 1984 fr) because of climate change and famine i think, because these people are ‘gatekeeping’ me away from their writing hobby by saying that the entire hobby’s point is about writing and drawing for fun and not having a machine do it for you

But comrade. The “art” belongs to the state. You don’t own anything, you are part of the collective. And the state has not mandated your art as having any collectivist value to the proletariat. Now, return to the munitions factory. We need to prop up the vanguard party and our revolutionary fronts to spread the ideology. Get back to work, your leisure time is not a right, for it does not benefit the working class.

Yeah but AI art that is the result of an AI scrapping commissioned artwork is still in the ballpark of theft?

TBH If I had to pick between paying a human 35-75$ commission per piece for decent art of my characters and a robot slave that I can prod and prompt until it can make a gallery of my non-misshapen characters doing things that I’ll just upload on a role-play website, I’ll always go for the latter option
