Alchemy Specialisation

Just wondered if someone can point me in the right direction. I’m currently level 30 and have outland alchemy at 70 skill. I’m unable to learn though a specialization Like a master of transmutes, potions, etc. Am I missing something is there a level I need to reach. Thanks for any advice.

I have been trying to find an answer, but all info I could find are from before BfA split the profession skills into expansion profession skills. For getting Alchemy Specialisation you need quite some skills, you need at least 300/300 vanilla Alchemy.

Also I am not sure if level 30 is high enough enough, you might need level 35 before you before the specialisation quests becomes available now after the level squish. On the other hand, these quests only requires level 1 according to Wowhead, so this is unclear. Anyway, get your vanilla Alchemy up to 300/300, and see what becomes available from city Alchemy trainers then.

Thanks, glad it is not only me  I will take your advice.

You don’t need to worry about professions until you’re max level, and then you can learn the shadowlands professions without having to grind out all the previous expansions
about profession specializations they got discontinued long ago

What Iheb says is sort of true, depending on what you intend to do with the Alchemy specialisation.

I have transmutation mastery from when I played back in Outland/Wrath. This has been useful for me as I still do transmutes of some old world items. This is because you sometimes get a proc that gives you extra items.

However, to expand on Iheb’s point, the way proccing works changed (after Cata?) so if you are looking at masteries to give you procs in current or recent content I don’t think that works now. Best to check on Wowhead if you need further info.

You need 200 vanilla alchemy skill before the quest will show up. And mists of pandaria was the last expansion they had any relevance in.
