All groups onley want mages?

sadly this seems to be a growing problem, every group onley wants mages + a tank and a healer, no other dps classes seem to get a invite anymore.

any chance blizzard can fix this or should we all just reroll mage?

I dont know but you should form your own groups

Well, it makes sense.
Regardless whether Classic or Retail, mages are a skill-based class. They can aoe, they can kite, they can get out of combat. If they can’t - they’re ususally dead after catching the aggro.

I mean, if you are a group leader and have to choose, between a mage and say a random warrior, which one would you prefer?

dont think thats true. i join lots of groups who have other dps as well. i myself dont need more than one mage in my group, if at all. i love shamans in my group though.

if everything fails just make your own groups? dont really see a reason why blizzard should do anything about it nor do i consider it a problem.

i whould but no tank or healer wants to join cause they all look for spellcleave groups for faster xp, just open your trade and world chat and you will see the spellcleave groups spam.

Welcome to vanilla’s stellar balance.

Just wait for the warriors to hit 60 en masse and get some good stuff.

The problem starts with the streamers. What ever a famous streamer does, the rest is gonna do too. And try check how many streamers are wanking around on mages to.

To be honest though, I would always prefer a random cloth-wearing class or a shaman (good damage, etc) over a paladin or a warrior. Unless you’re in a desperate need for a tank.
Warlocks and Priests are great too. Priest will heal all of you, Warlock has a tank pet, cc and good dps, Warlocks can summon. Mage will create the food and drink for all of the group members. Mage will open the portals for the group for free. Frost Mage is also able to cc. So, there you go. What does a random warrior brings into a leveling group? “Charge! Release Spirit.” meme from mid 00’s?

It’s not the streamers, here is your difference between the classes. They are truly distinct. Isn’t it what the #nochanges crowd wanted?

If I was a dps I would start my own group too much competition for places.

I think you are reading too much into calls to aoe farm dungeons. People just trying to form a group to do a dungeon don’t appear to have a preference for mages. Really you don’t even want someone to aoe unless the whole setup is built for that.

What are you talking about, I’m no mage and I get into groups on the first LFG add, usually. Mages are good, but they’re certainly not the only one with great utility.

Or did you really mean no groups want you?

My friend and I are both hunters, we just invite a dps, a tank and a healer to a group and off we go.

LoL, you really made us laugh a bit I think.
But now it’s over, so please just stop.

well thats a lie. to be honest i think you are overdramatising things. yeah there are people who want mages only but thats the very minority. dont know on what server you re on but everythings cool on noggenfogger.

as a healer i join the group who is willing to take me. i dont care what classes are in them as long as theres a tank at one point. i had a mage + hunter in my group earlier and the hunter was absolutely killing it compared to the mage. and in another group i had a rogue who dealt really nasty dmg that came close to the mages.

i levelled a hunter a couple of days ago and never had any problems either finding a group or creating one. people are absolutely chill about everything.

plus, tank and healers are absolutely outnumbered by dps. its like in retail. dont expect everytime to get an invite. :woman_shrugging:

edit:

if you re horde on noggenfogger just let me know. i ll gladly invite hunters.

What would a Blood Elf Mage know about this game anyway?
Blood Elf Mage says it all.

Oh, you’re “that” kind of person… I see.

Yup, and there is nothing wrong with being efficient and min-maxing in a videogame.

… wat ? Why did I believe for a second that you’d understand, lol ? We obviously don’t speak the same language.

Really this seems to be a dungeon farm thing, rather than a quest run thing.
Quite alot of people are doing dungeons with the intention of doing it more than once.

I ain’t got time for that and there are probably others who would rather do it normally too.

We obviously do not, since you picked a Blood Elf to create a mage.
