As of writing this post, Hayne, Achilles, Bajheera, Metaphors, Burn and Rusty, who are all recognized PvP entertainers and streamers, are all streaming themselves playing M+ or raiding with a title suggesting PvP.
Can we please quit making PvP’ers absolutely have to grind out PvE content to be competitive in PvP. You spend more time preparing for PvP than actually PvP’ing.
I now understand why we have the system that we have. Wow.
Nowhere does it state WoW is a PvE focused game. It’s an MMORPG, and has nothing to do with dividing PvE and PvP.
The game has a competitive PvP system in place. For about 10 years you could play PvP exclusively and enjoy the game, without ever having to touch a raid or a dungeon. Why do we suddenly have to suffer now? Why is it all of a sudden a “side activity”?
Well, originally you had to play the whole game in order to pvp, so technically it’s not “now all of a sudden”, it was meant to be like that to begin with.
Originally that system was changed pretty damn swiftly because having to play the whole game didn’t work.
TBC, WotLK, Cata, MoP and WoD all understood this, and to an extend Legion did somewhat as well.
Enter BFA, we’re straight back to vanilla.
PvP’ers like to play PvP. By your logic all raiders and M+ players should also try to get duelist+ so they can get that l33t gear to compete in their own respective content.

Not really, my logic is to redirect 100% of resources put into competitive PVP systems to PVE and stop acting as if PVP is a valid mode in the game. Leave casual bgs if people want to screw around and don’t waste time trying to balance pvp anymore, or develop gearing systems for it.
WoW never was and never will be a proper balanced pvp game, and for that reason if I want to pvp I go play games that were created with pvp being the main focus in mind.
Alright, so put simple, you’re just giving the middlefinger to the PvP’ers and want them to play “the real content”. Stop acting as if PvP balance is something that can be achieved in any game, and if it’s not possible we should just not try.
Yes, because if I want to play PvP in an RPG style I should go play CS:GO. Are you for real?
From my perspective it’s the same as if people who only like the PVE mode in Overwatch wanted the end of season rewards that PVPers get.
A side mode being a mode doesn’t mean it has to reward the same as the main mode.
Proper PVP games are 100% focused on balancing pvp, while WOW has and always will focus primarily on balancing PVE, and that’s why balacing pvp is a Sisyphean labour that’s not worth the effort.
That’s a bold claim to make when you hardly play either content.
PvP has for more than 10 years been a main activity of the game. It had its own seperate content, seperate gearing system and stats and seperate balancing.
And they still don’t manage to achieve balance. CS:GO might be the most balanced game out there, simply because both sides are equal, and you get the opportunity to play as both sides.
Is LoL balanced? Is Overwatch balanced? Is DotA balanced? Are other games like SWTOR, Warcraft 3, For Honor or Hearthstone balanced?
We might as well turn those games into PvE games because
WoW’s PvE might be the most popular and biggest content, but that doesn’t mean it should be raid or die mentality.
We had a system that worked for 10 years. Why did we stop doing that. PvP tier sets was the PvP balance back then, and didn’t affect PvE at all.
