So I dont have an epic mount, which means my main cant really do premades. This leaves pugging AV.
Unfortunatelly pugging AV on allaince means playing 25-30 vsv 35-40. Every time.
The amount of people afk/botting is just staggering. And its so visible. I have seen some “players” not playing and going to the same spot to shadowmeld/enter sneak ofr 10+ games.
Reports doesnt seem to do much. This weekend has been the worst I can remember. And no, this was not the experience from Vanilla.
In Vanilla people fishing the entire bg met with consequences. People running against a hillside in ghost form for 10 mins was not a thing back then.
And so on.
Quite simply, the pvp experience at this moment is pretty horrible. Is this really what we pay for?

In blizzard’s eyes you are paying for bfa, and there you won’t see these issues.

Since getting slaughtered and overcamped for nothing, is worthless, people will just afk until the end.
3 losses = 1 deliver
Sooner or later will get annoyed and drop AV. So horde will remain mostly against premades and with 1H queue

Doing that is so inneficient its not even worth doing. They prob make around 1/10 the honor/h of a good premade. And could easily do better in wsg doing actual pvp
as I wrote: sooner or later will get annoyed and drop AV.
It very much was. It was a method to avoid going afk so long that you were logged off and back into the 4+ hour queue while doing real life stuff like going to the store.
Reports only work if enough people bother to report, and even then all someone who gets reported have to do is to engage in a bit of pvp. There are several reasons this wasn’t an issue in vanilla. One is 1.12 AV, another is that people who were ranking actually enjoyed pvp.
It’s alot harder to watch tv series while doing actual pvp in wsg, or in good premades.
I premade 1h a day and i outfarm them. Most of the time premade is so ez you can semi afk it. Quite easy to watch a tv show and premade at the same time. Half the time is spent waiting for game to start and running on mount in a straight line
That’s still alot more effort than pushing 1 key every 4-5 minutes, and there is nothing stopping you (except your own will to do so) from doing both premades and afking. Late nights you see some of those rank 10+ people afking in the AV cave. They have probably been in premades too at some point.
If you aren’t using the premade side of the alliance (Which is stupid as AV isn’t meant to have premades) - AV is a literal… mess.
Premade players half afking whilst waiting for a premade to get sorted / getting dinner.
Bots.
Basically if you plan on PvPing on the alliance side - You NEED to be on a premade.(Since premades ruin the AV as pug AVs beginning on a lot less people)
Blizzard won’t fix that,

No serious ranker that is in a premade farming 20k+/h will risk acc over 1 extra hour of farming/day instead of botting for a couple of hours. Especialy considering ranking on alliance is so trivial that rankers reach br1 cap on early saturday afternoon. Sure botting is an issue, but realisticly it rly is mainly a horde issue
I never said anything about botting, but manual afking where you hit a button yourself every few minutes while doing something else. There is absolute zero risk in doing that. While there probably are people botting, it’s nowhere near as big an issue as premades and people manually afking in AV pugs.
More than half the AVs are starting with 10-15 alliance players for people who isn’t doing premades is though, and it’s caused by premades. That’s by far the biggest issue in non-premade AVs at the moment. This again causes people to just afk instead of trying.

Wat this one say, dont understand the 1000000 topics about fix this and fix that.
It is! Fixed.
hence blizz said “you think you do, but you don’t”
It’s not fixed. Blizzard restored the pre-tbc version of AV, which was more or less a catch up mechanism for those who had no time to grind AV rep when AV battles were … well battles.
So the “you think you do, but you don’t” phrase is very inaccurate here, since the Vanilla AV experience (what people were asking for) was about few hours long epic battles with tons of PvP instead of passive farming honor with PvE content.

I ment fixed as in, new expansions removed or changed the problems from vanilla.
But i agree totaly with you, that we dit not get the real classic in the First place.
If they just started with the First patch, bugs included we all had a ton more fun than the rush bullcrap(also in PVE) we got now.

What’s your purpose in going to AV, I really don’t get it.
You can’t even farm epic mount, you’re not going to have the ethic to grind ranks.
Just quit the game, wait for TBC

True that, but there’s still people around ‘asking’ for racials to be balanced etc.
And as for people afking, games starting undermanned is mostly playerbase created problem, original vanilla did not have these issues in this magnitude at least.
I’d say that specific issue was Blizzards fault really. They chose to have battlegroups like this.
Because original vanilla had different AV, this is pre-tbc AV.
