So BRE finally dropped for the guild last week and I decided to roll on it as there is so much competition on main hand weapons feels like a lifetime I’ve been waiting to get a decent one. Anyway to the point I’ve been playing 2 handed fury (Alliance) why do so many people think it’s not viable I understand we lack WF but to say it’s not viable for Ally to play I don’t think it’s that bad I’m always in top 10 dps if not top 5 if I get really good RNG it’s like saying dps feral druids are not viable on Horde cause they can’t use WF. Any other fellow Ally playing 2 handed fury and enjoying it?
A good 2h is in most cases better than 2 bad 1h’s. However, two good 1-handers will do more damage.
The feral druid comparison is not a good one though, since the ferals viability doesnt depend on being top of the meter, but in its versatility(tank, dps heal) and the buff he brings to the group.
2H is not as bad as everyone says. I just did molten core as Arms 2h and was in top 15 dps on almost all fights. (in poor gear)

I think that bre is bad in pve, because bwl bosses have arround 3.7k armor so with all the sunders, fearie fire and curse of recklessnes having more than 1 BRE stack is useless
It was a massive upgrade for me still using dal rends combo even though we have cleared BWL just no weapons seem to be dropping for the guild only ever seen 1 deathbringer drop from Ony and 2 vis’kag even with doing split runs. There is a massive queue for weapons in the guild and I will now be back of the queue for an upgrade as we use loot council.
BRE for sure isn’t bad (especially on a human warr due to the +5 wep skill). There’s maybe a couple of 2-handers that can be considered equal or better than BRE considering the amount of armor. So, let’s assume you don’t need all the armor reduction in bwl. What about the later raids?
i‘m playing 2h fury since day one. i got lucky and received Ashkandi in the 3rd week after BWL release and here is the result in MC:

even in BWL it was possible to be #1 dps on bosses like nefarian. with a big weapon like BRE, you can top the charts too. don‘t listen to all these min maxers and play what u want.

You will do decent damage if you can get your hand on a good 2 hander. Ofc you can theoretically do more damage if you have windfury, but keep in mind, you have salv on alliance so you can go all out much more often than in horde (correct me if im wrong , i haven’t played horde in classic for years). If you have a choice between 2 good 1h or 1 good 2h then by all means go with the one handers, but realistically you either wait for god knows how long, or get what you can (or try rank14 but thats another topic entirely. Sorry for rambling, the TL;DR is that 2h fury is not bad at all, just dont lose the world buffs because your rage gen will be miserable.
