Not really OT but what I remember being mostly horde during WOTLK was that it was 90% Blood elves and unless you were twinking or something weird most people who chose horde did it for aesthetic reasons

Hard to say, i’ve always heard sylvanas being scewed to alliance majority.
Anyhow, @ bloodfeather alliance didn’t do so well in wg.

Well, there were still horde dominated servers, but it was easy to see that the overall population was in alliance favor. In every battle group, top 50 arena teams were primarily alliance.
Horde is full of PvPers, in pugs you are mostly grouped with them, on ally side with instant ques its full with fresh 60 and kids.
If you want easy pvp life join horde. If you are strong enough, join ally.
You missed the point.
It is not the racials themselves make the imbalance, but the tendency that most good pvp players roll horde.
Guess why? Because of the better racials.
It could be any random factor that causes faction imbalance at the beginning then it becomes self-accelerating.

Maybe tryhards went for racials to do arena then, tho it didn’t show in bg scene, alliance lost those just as nothing had changed
We could argue if horde racials really are better outside classic tho, they’ve changed alot over the years but alliance still remains kinda whimpy, they refuse to turn warmode on, they give up more easily bg’s… only thing they got going for is that maybe few of top of the top pvp arena teams are alliance but that’s about it.
This is just personal experience but majority of players I know aren’t pvp orientated. For whatever reason retail Classic has a preference for Horde.
I think a more major thing is the levelling than the pvp.
Horde racials are even better in TBC. Blood elfs get 2 sec silence, while space goats get an useless heal.
And nowadays it’s useless 1 magic effect dispell, wotf is nerfed to the ground for a while, humans got free cc remove trinket and can’t remember what other goodies, nelves have combat shadowmeld etc, why do they still suck at pvp in modern retail also? Why they sucked during legion? Wod was odd one, only time i’ve seen alliance do better…
Yes yes those expansion might suck according to person X, but doesn’t change that most of wow’s life, alliance has been bad at pvp outside the top 1% pvp players with top arena team.

Dunno. But some horde players still crying how ally bad is. Its not ture, just more ally BGs groups are not filled with pvpers.
It’s mostly for drama but there is some truth to it. Alot of Alliance were crying in P2, even on servers with high alliance population they dimished; presumably quit or relocation from fear of PvP.
Then BGs come and despite expecting a 90% win rate for Alliance in AV, horde only struggle against premades.
There does seem to be a weakness in alliance players that harmed the game.

it `s not my fault ally is full of kids and some guys dont want play with them so they roll horde or playing AV premades. I was in horde premade vs pug, i didnt use any spell and we win 3:0.
I am probably most skilled horde player, i can win wsg doing nothing just showing there.
I enjoy ally pvp more, its another lvl of pvp dificulty.
