Allied Races we should've had?

In your opinion what allied races should be have had? I have made comparisons of races in game that would easy port over to an allied race. I guess the main issue is keeping the races relevant over the years.

Tortollan and Tuskaar - Using the Pandaren Rig (C’mon expand monk lore to other races, ninja turtle anyone?)

Mogu - Using the Draenei Rig

Jinyu - Using the Nelf rig

Taunka and Yaungol - Tauren Rig (these actually wouldve been cooler than Highmountain)

Skinny Humans - (Undead rig, i couldnt think of a race so maybe just a customisation or make them like Alterac Humans.

Naga - New race

Ogres - Kul Tiran Rig.

Vrykul - I kinda thought we would get these in Legion after the quest in Suramar.

Wildhammer - (Wouldve made new more sense than the new dwarves, i know these are lumped into normal dwarfs but thats more of a problem with how Bliz approached sub races)

Broken Draenei - (Orc rig)

I really wish Bliz had planned Sub Races out a bit better though, it wouldve been easier from a lore persepctive. for example

Silvermoon Elf - Subraces: Void Elf, Blood Elf, High Elf.

Neutral races - Pandaren, Tuskar, Tortollan

Humans - Kul tiran (Fat), Stormwind (Medium), Alterac (Skinny). (Could even use all body types but have subrace flavours).

Dwarves - Bronzebeard, Dark Iron, Wild Hammer, Earthen.

Orcs - Green, Maghar, Dragon Maw, Red Orcs.

Draenei - Red Draenei, Draenei and Lightforged.

I would do away with any stat benefit on all races and make race abilities a flavour button instead with unique heritage armour that could be shared with fellow subraces.

What would be your ideal allied races and system?

Murloc!

Then it’s not really an allied race now is it?

What kind of upside down world is it that Ogres need to copy assets from a made up race (kul tirans were just humans before BFA).

Most of the allied races were a mistake. You cant change my mind on that.

Most of them should have just been a cosmetic option of the races. No reason to make 2 dwarfes, 2 orcs, 2 tauren and 2 spacegoats.

They use tauren skele,
Also; yes to all except Naga, never thought they should be playable

murlocs only - the rest doesn’t matter at all

The only thing I’m rather sure of is anything but other dwarves.

Hmmmm I can’t honestly think about more races that would be cool. If I could trade that for more current races customisations and reworked/more animations, I would.

I actually don’t understand why it matters if something uses the same rig. It’s still a different race.

Sethrak - I thought we’d get them in BfA. But we got loli furries instead.

After playing Baldur’s Gate 3, the sub-race option sounds like an evidence now.

As for the allied races we should have, there are :

Horde :

  • Taunka : They’re already in the Horde, so having them seems obvious.
  • Forest trolls : Already in the Horde too, with the Revantusk tribe. Maybe the Horde will be able to recruit Amani tribe one day, you never know.
  • Mok’nathal : I think they’re must be an allied race and not as a custom thing.

Alliance :

  • Broken Draenai : A far better choice than Lightforged whho should be a simple skin color custom.
  • Jinyu : If they use the night elves skeleton then yes, it’s an allied race. They’re already in Alliance too.
  • High elves : But it’s not gonna happens, thanks to Velen.

Yes.

Some of them, like the Lightforged or the Mag’har are not even a separate race or come from an other culture. It’s literally the same race with a different skin color.

I mean, man’ari Eredars are more different than Lightforged, but it’s the latter who are an allied race. It makes no sense.

Gnolls. Theyve been shown to work with other races looooooads of times.

The only ones i would like to see are Ogres. And KT body is perfect.

I second this!

Skullfox take again… But I think blizzard should grant us all the hyped and anticipated races we’ve had since classic…

I am talking Ogres. Gnolls. Tuskar all the fan anticipated and hyped allied races that make sense for their faction to be added… Not necessarily the current story of the game.

Why? Because literally every single race that is added to the game that isn’t a Murloc or a tuskar or a Ogre just recieves so much hatred and outrage. Adding new races to wow should be an exciting and hyped thing everybody looks forward too.

Now? Yeah now its just… Have fun playing the race everybody hates because it isn’t a Ogre or a Tuskar at this point.

Just why? who are you adding these new races for? As a Vulpera who has literally been tanking all the hate my race has recieved both here and in game since ever I cant help but wonder… Wouldn’t it be better if adding new races was actually cool and fun for people again? Like Blood elves and Draenei where. Worgens and goblins… Sure they got their fair share of hate too… But not anywhere near everything after has gotten.

What would all the haters say when all their wishes have been granted? Maybe there would be space for us new races then afterwards…?

I feel like we had an attempt, albeit a poorly done attempt.

I feel like alot of the allied races chosen, were alot of the easy way out options. Gnomes, mecha gnomes…night elves, blood elves, void elves and the elves from legion all share very similar models if not the same.

Draenei and LF draenei is very lazy

tauren and hm tauren are super lazy

now in the warwithin we’re getting a 3rd flavour of dwarf like why???

The ones I will give some praise for were kultiran, vulpera, zandalari. The rest can respectfully stay in the bin they came from.

Its just pandering to the masses thats what allied races felt like, especially looking back at dracthyr, it felt like an attempt to be original but then immediatley falling back onto pandering to elves with the visage???

I can sorta see where people are coming from, it felt outrageous how we were deprived of different choices, I personally advocate for variety and the minute I saw how much pandareing was done for select races, I’d be lying if my interest for allied races suddenly didnt exist.

Biggest culprit here are the Void Elves. They are literally just High elves with void powers, that’s like saying Shaman Orcs and Non Shaman-Orcs are different races.

Sethrak instead of diaper gnomes.
Never made sense to me why we got mechagnomes instead of badass snakes.
