Allow movement while casting slam in Classic - SoD

Please allow to cast slam while moving in season of discovery, that would help a lot for 2h warriors.

You can’t even dps properly on high movement fights because slam locks you in place.

While for a caster it’s ok to not needing to move a lot of the times, and if the boss moves your spell has large range, but slam has short range so the boss can easily outrange you if it moves, and the fact that you can’t avoid AOE on the ground without losing DPS is really bad design.

Please consider this change, this would make the game so much more fun to play,

Thanks

SoD already offers other abilities for warriors to use, slam doesn’t need altering.

Arms sucks in PVE in Classic, but it was nailed in TBC, didn’t need slam while moving. They are already adding Cataclysm mechanics to the SoD, which in my opinion is not a good thing.

It was meant to be Classic +, not "Classic + Cataclysm, Slam doesn’t need adjusting.

We are not talking about arms but the 2h fury slam spec. The person above gives the argument that SoD offers enough other abilities, but why gatekeep certain playstyles? Turtle wow even has a version of slam that allows you to move while casting it and it is a great idea. I have experienced other games like ESO where you had a similar skill (wrecking blow) that had a wind up time before a big hit, allowed you to move and had a stun attached to it when you landed it, obviously Slam doesn’t need a stun, but we do need movement as a melee. I’m sure many ppl will enjoy this new type of slam. no change andy’s can play ERA

By that argument you could make the case for any future playstyle from a future expansion to make its way into Classic, and the whole point of Classic was to play the game as it was back then.

Some specs need love, but Warrior is one of the most fleshed out classes that excels as the best in the game at 2 roles in PVE while also being exceptional in PvP. Arms was popular in PVE in TBC with a Slam build, the same 2h Fury spec while very rarely used was also capable, the requirement to stand still and cast Slam is a huge part of the skill of the spec and what separated good players from the bad.

You ask for too much and you end up miles away from Classic. Many specs in Classic could use love, but Warrior is already great. If they are going to take mechanics from future expansions, be it TBC, not Cataclysm and beyond.

i lol’d at “You ask to much and you end up miles away from Classic”, that boat left the minute they added rune engravings. the skill in using slam is not in the stand still part but in the part of timing it after your auto. The no movement part is a handicap, you are already locked in a cast time, this cast time can be interupted, so there is already counterplay to this, but you can also just walk out, wich makes this skill inbalanced in many ways. Skill is not an issue, got many 100 parses across different characters, i also developed a proper APL for the DK community for 2h unholy DK sim. I can see where the game can improve by not breaking the game in any way and opening op other playstyles for a larger amount of people to play.

Slam is good on bosses with no movement, but first example comes to mind is grobbulus, here this skill suffers bigtime, allowing movement on the cast of slam fixes this issue without breaking the game
