I should’ve done the grind sooner because this is just miserable. The Alliance are actively trying to sabotage Horde pulling LTs, the Horde got a group of 5 to 10 rogues roaming mid and picking off everyone. High warlord/grand marshall characters who are just there to try and sabotage the opposite faction giving them less honor.
Pure misery. I’d rather have OLD AV implemented.
People who are done with the ranking, now play the game for fun?!?!
Preposterous!

Last 2 weeks of my ranking, I had 1-3 horde open on me every time I pulled Doordash from iceblood tower. They didn’t even go mid to farm honor, they literally got less honor just to make sure Alliance is more miserable.
But yeah, from alli side, as much as half the raid would just veer off to defend Belinda and lts, it is a disgraceful behaviour. I can only imagine it is much worse now. That’s why you rank with the “pack”. I can not imagine the misery of doing it now with r14s “having fun” in there.
I love long Alteracs. Very strategic, deep games. Good times. Ranking my hunter alt and truly enjoy every hour.

So the people who got R14 complained about people doing that. Now they are done, they are doing the same thing. What rat hypocrit behavior is that lmao. Very egoistic

Let me be clear, im currently rank 10 on my mage. I am struggling just as much as the rest.
But its the entitlement of some, that baffles me.
God forbid ANYONE plays the game any other way than the rush meta.
The second someone does anything outside of rushing, they get called griefer and whatever else you can think of.
I agree, its almost comical.

The problem is that you are forced into a random group. If people who want to rush, and people who want to turtle could form into premades, there would be no conflict. But as it is, people are forced into completely random groups where some portion only wants hph and some has some other objective they find “fun”.
But then if we had premades, all the solo queuers who play “for fun” would cry about only meeting premades.
Yes, but people also dont want premades. Its impossible to win in this situation.
What if the horde team who wants to rush, faces and alliance team who wants to turtle?
Majority dont wanna do premades either i feel like.
Yeah, thats what its like playing in a mmorpg. People prefer different things. Stop thinking you’re the center of the universe. You think its fun to rush, others think its fun to gank in mid. There is no right or wrong in this, you do what you enjoy.
i read this after i started replying, ah well.
If the initial rush fails, the rushing team stops playing and sits in GY until the enemy wins or tries to clean up remaining lts/captains. In reality though, “turtling” premades would be extremely rare, and well known, so the rushing team would just afk out on gate open and let pugs trickle in to be farmed in mid while taking 15 min break.
Yeah, and in literally every other aspect of this mmorpg other than the AV battleground, I can choose to play with people who prefer the same things I do. That’s why it’s such a weird disconnect, and very un-mmo-like situation.
If I could help it, I’d never let a mid clown into any group I form for the rest of Anniversary.

This was a huge problem in sod, 1 team would automatically give up and the other team would win. To maximize max honor/hr for both (turn ins gave good honor)
Giving up shouldnt be allowed in anniversary, just like its not in sod.
yeah, turtling premades are rare. I was more pointing towards occasional turtles done by alliance (or hordes for that matter). 5 men can easily turn any av game into a turtle.
You still can though. You can premade your way into a av. Its not efficient when it comes to honor/hr. But its easily doable.
But i can agree on one thing. Since you can chose who to play with everywhere else. The only sound solution is to allow premades in av (actual premades). Thats completely fine with me:D
This will stir up some real drama when AV weekend is around.
My point was that everyone in av is trying to make everyone else play like they do themselves. As if they are the one true av master. They disregard everyone elses choices while expecting complete and total obedience back.
These two kinda contradict each other, no? Even if the discord premading worked like in classic (I don’t think it does, simultaneous queues still get broken up), you only ever got 25-35 people in on a good day. If 5 people can force a turtle like you say, then the power to “dictate” gameplay is sort of one-sided, no?
That’s the thing, people who want to rush can do nothing except shout impotently at the defenders on their team in /bg. While defenders can, well, defend, as is their preference. One thing you can do solo, the other requires the whole team or most at least, hence the entire drama.
My point was, you dont need a full premade to get turtle games. A…friend… of mine does this constantly. Sapper/aoe the alliance at galv, they wipe and ress at SH GY, they then run down to balinda.
You can also queue with the people YOU want to play with.
Tried to cover 2 points, but maybe i should be clearer. You can play with only people you want, in a premade, but the honor for doing that is awful. So its not worth doing it.
Discord queueing into AV works. It takes time, but it works.
Yes, after that you gotta make sure that people join your av. But if you get 25-30 people in, its faith is already sealed. 10 random rarely do anything offensively, they follow the masses.
Im not sure what you mean by this? Please elaborate.
They’re all sheeps imo. “Everyone” does the same, they “all” rush balinda. “nobody” thinks outside the box. No rogue is rushing to take towers and get rid of archers (vanish after the tower is taken, makes the archers go away) for instance.
The second their precious “rush” goes wrong, everything crumbles. Complete lack of adaptability:) They rush, things go sour, then they complain and act as if they are the best players in town.
Im trying to cap in av while writing, so maybe im misunderstanding or not getting my own points across properly.
Well, there are indeed situations when you can’t do any other than midfarming. E.g. when there’s 5 ppl north, no gy there and no chance to break through mid.
Honestly, sometimes I enjoyed this kind of break and did happily this midfarming thingie when there was hardly an alternative. Or when I have to rezz in our cave while there’s 20+ ppl already north, so I go and gank with my fellow southern mates what crosses our way and meanwhile wait for the others to finish, bc if I tried to make my way north I’d see Van dead when crossing Balinda. So better have some midfun.
I meant more people who split from the initial group running to Galv to “defend” Belinda and lieutenants, causing horde to respawn at their GY and block the choke to frostwolf. Those clowns.
Yeah when the game already devolves into a turtle you might become “stuck” in the middle, especially if hut/aid is retaken and you aren’t a stealth class. But that is not what I meant since it’s inevitable.
i’m r.13 and omw to r.14, i have to get a LOT of honor yet what ur describing i’ve never seen.
Ah “those”. Well yes, they are annoying menaces.
Genuinely what game do you guys play because there’s nothing strategic about AV since everything got removed/nerfed?
Hahaha oh wow, this is comical, I want to see that attitude when you just completed your 500k week for the first time.
I enjoyed AV when I was at that rank too.
Last week i did 500, im doing 500 this week, and im doing 500 next week. Is it tedious and boring? Sure, but in the end i think its worth. But we’ll see.
it’s not rush VS turtle, it’s rush AND turtle. A part of the raid turtles horde at balinda, this gives the rush team some extra time to get drek killed. If well done, the turtle team can cause hordes to wipe on Balinda but that’s not necessary, the main thing is buying time and win.
Edit: forgot to mention that i have seen turtle premades, those runs were wins!
20 minute win gives half the honor per hour of 7 minute loss. Yeah it is fun to win with everything capped, no doubt, but for anyone still grinding rank it basically means double the time spent doing the grind.
