Give one reason why is this as they said alt friendly expansion.
We are having loot drop shortage and legendary per week limitation upgrade where you will for sure suffer a few weeks to become fully equipped.
Even if you try to main another alt you will be far behind everyone else.
Alt should get some instant adjustments for campaign and legendaries.
Also make soul ash account bound that will help a procces of catching up in progress.
Please dont hate. Those are just suggestions and my personal view on alt situation.
If you disagree its ok, thats why we are here to disscus. Beacuse its a serious problem.

Alt friendly doesn’t mean automatic alt progression for you.
It means, catch up mechanics are at play.
You can gain a lot more than 3 renown per week on your alt until you catch up. You don’t need to do maw or torghast buffs, and you gain 1000 or so soul ash per week, which means 2 weeks and you’ll get a 210 legendary piece which is good enough for an alt. No other progression needed. you just spam dungeons and raids with an alt to gear up and that’s it.
Some of you people confuse alt friendly with doing it once and all your characters get it automatically.

Except, they are not. You can catchup for some quests but you won’t ever catch up on gear because of weekly bingo lottery (vault). That just yields insane items vs trash you get from content itself.

What is alt friendly means then? I am confused then. Me as casual need second life to have to be able to do everything as my main does. To keep them up at same time.
No offens but that aint alt friendly feature as they said.
Alt friendly means, if you’re planning on leveling an alt, you don’t have to do all the things you did with your main. There are catch up mechanics available to make it easier.
And in shadowlands, you do the maw reputation with one character and buy the upgrades for all. You have a renown catch up. you have no more rep requirement for anything. you go gear up and you’re good to go and in 2 weeks time, you can make a legendary as well.
That’s alt friendly.
In BFA, you had to grind essences again. you had to grind neck level again. you had to do some of the reps and dailies for each character. you had to gear up and farm corruption and visions and all of those for EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER.
Now you see the difference?
Alt friendly doesn’t mean freebie. It means easier for alts. Obviously, if you want to be a casual player or someone with a limited available time, you can’t expect to have 2 or more characters performing at a high level.

Ok i take back what ive said then. So maw is the way how to open easy way to catch up things on alt.
the maw upgrades are accountwide. So you unlock them with one character and get them for all. That’s one of the catch up systems, yea.

Thanks i was clueless about that, sry noob here.
although, don’t confuse that with soul ash though. you need to farm soul ash with all characters and unfortunately, you have to unlock layer 8 of torghast with each character. But once you do that, it’ll be a once every week per character thing.

And the conquest cap increase to ur alts also so when u hit 3k cap etc with ur main, u can farm 3k conquest points straight away with ur alt .

for majority of people “alt friendly” means 1 thing - they log in alt and they arent 6 weeks behind on arbitrary currency making them not able to play on decent level and having a lot of usless stuff to do .
people want to log in alt and instantly do dungeons/pvp/raids
Ion lied to us - again - and delviered even more alt unfirendly expansion then BfA was.

Me and my alts disagree so far, especially if you wait for the 3 callings to be in 1 zone
the great alexima has spoken, and she represents blizzard, as obvious by her blue text /s.
Alt friendly can mean many things for many people, and blizzard hasn’t really provided much in alt-friendlyness, there’s a story/renown catch-up and that’s it.
The maw upgrades are not account wide by the way, only the thorghast ones are.
My personal biggest issue is that anima is way too hard to get, quests give 35-140 max and you need thousands for base upgrades, thousands for mogs/mounts, hundreds for gear upgrades etc etc…

This did happen in the past, it was in WOD.
Garrison mission table was very efficient at gearing your alts. You had to fulfill some very basic requirements to unlock endless free epics from missions.
For PVE it was to clear a certain amount of bosses. Kill 8 bosses on Mythic difficulty and you’ll get free Mythic item every 2 weeks from a mission. These could be any bosses, you can kill Hellfire Assault 8 times and still unlock this mission. Which BTW brought you stuff from entire raid, not from bosses you killed. Items from mythic Archimonde for 1/13M player? Well here you go, why not!
One item per 2 weeks was not that much but bear in mind this patch was 13 months long. This mission really did gear you in full mythic with the exception of weapons and tier set bonus.
PvP gearing was even simpler. Obtain 4000 Honor on a character. This unlocks Honor missions on table. Forever. 4000 Honor could be obtained with two won battlegrounds as BG week used to be +200% honor back then. Not mere +50% seen today.
And then you can purchase gear from the vendor for that honor. It had ilvl 700 for PvE and 730 for PvP. Conquest gear was slightly better at 710/740. Missions took care of honor farming if you did not want to pvp.
This was the most alt friendly expansion ever. Propably won’t ever be topped. It was so alt friendly in fact, that many people left the game as there was barely anything to do. Automated systems such as garrison table geared you by themselves.
As we speak i have 4x 60s m+ rdy and 2 of them have legendary there is no issues at this expansion with having alts plus doesnt feel like you lose progress on your main.
My only complain is we need a skip for the starting maw story and maybe a mechanic to open torghast lvls a bit faster maybe give the 3layer open for alts and you progress from there that would be amazing.
Tbh I have 4 level 60s all between 190-200 ilevel. Hasn’t been that hard tbh 🤷🤷

Your alts will be ready once they are all 215 ilvl with 225 leggos.

People seem to have a pretty twisted idea about what an alt character is. It’s an alt for a reason, not a second/third/fourth/etc, main character. It’s an alt because it’s behind your main character on which you focus the most. It’s not supposed to be on the same level as your main, since you didn’t put the same amount of time into it.
Legion seem to made people forget this, due to uncapped titanforging making it possible for people to catch up to their main in no time. But that was the flawed idea, not the current one.
It is more alt friendly though. You can’t say anything that would make me believe that what we have now is not better than waiting weeks on alts for enough titan residuum to buy azerite armor, but that’s only the rng one, the highest ilvl specific azerite armors took months to get, farming essences, especially the likes of memory of lucid dream that was heavily timegated, or praying to rngesus to get a corruption/good corruption/high rank corruption before the vendor was added, which happened somewhere around May or June and the patch came out on January 14. So we had almost one year with no catch up mechanic for essences, and 4/5 month with no catch up mechanic for corruption.
So yeah, it’s not about opinions, it’s objectively a lot more alt friendly than BfA.
If people want to jump between characters from day 1 with the same amount of character strength, they are playing the wrong genre. Unless they play on an instant max level private server.

It’s not blizzard’s problem if you can’t distinguish the difference between FRIENDLY and freebie.
Friendly means easier. Freebie means given to you.
Now that we cleared that out, go back to BFA. you wanted memory of lucid dreams for an alt? That meant a month of daily quest grinds, for a single essence. You wanted the pvp essence? go and farm a ton of honor with every character and so on.
That’s what alt unfriendly is.
And now come back to shadowlands, and then cry about how farming an hour of weekly torghast for alts is too much and they should just hand you the currency for free.
