Few tweaks? You are literally playing 1.1 content with OP 1.12 patch.
Why not do the same with 2.4.3 patch? The whole content was designed to be played on 1.1 patch.
Era server has nothing to do with authentic vanilla experience. 1.12 patch was like post-naxx patch where everything was super easy and people were waiting for TBC to come out. This is not a progression patch and it was around like ,10% of the whole vanilla life.
I dont know why you keep bringing up that graph as if it supports your argument? What you see there is a complete collapse in the playerbase and wholesale rejection of that game mode.
The whole classic concept has a built in audience of around 300k. Even in p6 Classic 2019 version had ~250k weekly. There is no way to spin SOD as a success past the first month of p1.
Funny how they have been mostly quiet after Chronoboom dropped. Sure, they whined before but once they realized the implications of it they sure changed their tune and justified it with “That’s a healthy change” and “That’s just a little change”.
Where did the Slippery Slope suddenly go or is this a situation where THEY get to decide what is approved or not?
Nope, I am still here protesting any and all changes, also Chronoboon, PvP changes and so on. The only reasons I do not do it more, are twofold: My total ignorance where PvP is concerned - my whole PvP experience consist of 14 or so levels on Kor’Gall back in 2005 - 2006 and as many BG as needed for What a Long Strange Trip later on - and the sad propensity of forum-ists to call people stating their dissatisfaction words of which the kindest are something like malding Classic Andys, basement dwellers, whining boomers …
I feel much better dressed to figth for no layers, old UI back, no dual spec, no changes to character creation, no changes to in game map, and all that crap I see every time I play.
Wich ones? The most popular is Classic+ made by Russians with lots of new content and changes. Or the upcoming hyped “Project” which is another Classic+ based on TBC talents and system changes.
Or the two vanilla servers? One is in permanent death since Blizzard released Classic (RIP my first server)… The other one is mostly based on Chinese which is on survivable population if you don’t mind that large chunk of the population won’t talk English… And both of them have limited respec costs and few other changes. Chronoboon is even on the second one. Random multiplicative XP events, cash shop with big bags to add to the list.
Oh don’t get me wrong, right now there is none. Right now they all have atrocious cash shops and pay to win mechanics; dumb changes and/or stupid crossfaction.
But one can hope, that one day a team will assemble and create a great one, without all this.
Heck if I found people to partner with, I’d do it (seriously). But I don’t know anyone.
The good one has one raiding guild on Horde side and at max had 2 guilds. People didn’t came when they had fresh. And when the Chinese one had fresh launch was way better, but already next day Durotar had 2 people in it for the level range EU Time.
Before Classic when talking with people on my server pretty much everyone wanted to play on Blizzard servers and when Classic came that what exactly happened. When Classic was 2/3 (?) into TBC (and Era super dead) that server did fresh and the fresh failed.
2025 will be Classic+ with the Unreal Client (crazy!) and maybe Project finally launching - and lots of people seems to be hyped for that. Very few people are willing to farm original MC for the 100-th time.
Anniversary Edition with changes like Dual Spec and buff limits is very cost efficient refresh from Blizzard side. It gives players perception of new content, new experience while for Blizzard there isn’t realistically any new work needed. And I like it - I can finally play druid and have more fun with instances, especially in TBC. Without that it’s mage if at all.
So basically every release since the beginning of Classic. The point still stands and SoD does better than Era and better than Cataclysm. Wrath tanked numbers around Ulduar, was that the proof of wholesale rejection of the expansion?
Sanctuary was released a few months ago but it died before it even got off the ground because of selective ‘true to vanilla’ changes like t1 gear not having the newer models. The devs seemed indecisive about what patch changes they would follow. There was also massive drama weeks before launch with one of the devs threatening to K word another devs family on livestream. Shame because it looked like a really damn good server.
Me? Sure you did not reply to a wrong person?
As said I do not PvP at all. I play HC, and if you ever engage with me in PvP on a normal server - some Quests and activities flag me, I know - I’ll just do a /sit and wait for you to either kill me or move on.
I think this one was maybe for me:
I’m not against very cheap or even free re-spec - if it can only be done in capitals.
