Anniversary has cured my addiction…

Guess you’re right. Been doing some wsg and the honour compared to AV is maybe even 1/100th sometimes. Silly. But can’t expect Blizzard to fix anything sadly.

even with like 15 min solo queues u still get like 10k honor per hour unless u roll too many restarts

No way and during the day the queue is 40 minutes, not 15.

Lmao yessss Google please what are the competitive videogames

The mind of a bureaucrat is weird. “It’s not a competition unless a state sanctioned body orgnizes it”.

You two are talking past each other.
How is placing on a list on wcl site not competing? Why doest it have to be Blizzard run competition to count?

Every time I run a dungeon I compete for a drop. That’s the definition of the word, you try to achieve something others are also trying to achieve and only one can get it.

Farewell.
But … please before you leave, try out the HC way of life.

TLDR, i can guess what this is about. Other games exist y’know, many of which are far better than WoW and offer amazing and unique experiences.

If that’s not exactly what your post was about then season 2 is right around the corner and im sure you’ll get hooked on WoW again when that comes out

So I just exit WSG. I spent 10 minutes in queue, 37 minutes in game and I got 3078 honor. So that’s almost a hour for 3K honor. It’s not 1/100, but definitely like 1/5 of AV honor speed.

u could also have spent 1 hour in an av turtle getting u similar hph. but avg wsg game is like 10 min long ally win, again assuming u dont get too many restarts. if you queue with like 2 decent friends u can stomp premades too

Because of the same reasons I play almost only Classic Era,I might been lucky there, but most of the players generally nice peoples, helpful, they can say thanks if you helped them, and the slow pace just fits me well.
I don’t give a crap about BIS,meta whatever, fishing where I find a nice coast,do the zones I find fits to my mood, read the quests, care about the story but don’t care much about loot. And seriously having my best time in game since 2005.
Always been horde, but wanted to see alliance zones, quests,so a bunch of them new to me now,and it feels awesome.I’ve been in raiding guilds, chased bis gear just to see how them lose their value in a few months many times, and that was enough.
I play the story campaign in retail, then go back “home” to classic era,and it feels great! So,hope you’ll find your place in this or an other game, glhf!

I am doing same things on Fresh. Joined very chill guild, we do content but not too serious which fits to me. I fish, explore, hanging with people, basically having really great time.

If you surround yourself with people who chase the meta, BiS, speedrunners, etc., you will start to think and do the same. Just gather people around you with similar interests and you will have a great time in any type of WoW version. Be polite even if some people don’t deserve it, help if you can and try to enjoy in the game which is the escape of RL. If you don’t enjoy, no point of playing. It’s same as everything in life.

But im sure you got almost 40 min of gametime on that wsg. With equal back and forth fighting. Sounds like a good time!

No need to rush for the ranks in one go…

Just pvp mid, i prefer to pvp in Av over WSG because i can’t effort spamming consumes for pvp AND raid.

As always, Berny carries out God’s work.

I would argue, after countless patches and expansions, ability talent/revamps, some classes always being absurdly more OP than others, some professions always having greater utility than others, perma PvP imbalances and a longer etc. that thinking and acting meta is a consequence of game design.

On top of that, the MMORPG game that Vanilla WoW is all about has slowly, by design, turned into the SOLORMT game we have today. RPG is a carcass today, and the MMO aspect, even in Vanilla WoW is constantly under attack by those who just want SOLO convenience.

I have been defending Era for all its worth for years now in these forums - it is the only place in WoW where no new patches / expansions affect your progress. Because of this, I have been thrown to the lions countless times by those who do not wish Era to succeed.

I agree it is a sad state of affairs - and the majority of people who wish the game were different are long gone now.

Where do you get those people who “do not wish Era to succeed”? Most people who aren’t already on Era simply don’t care about the stagnant GDKP central. I didn’t even think about Era since TBC classic launched and I had a hearty chuckle about Blizz trying to sell me a copy of my toon on forever Naxx server :joy:
Nobody but Era players cares about Era.

but his name is in Norwegian, not Danish

That is not how peer pressure works.

You just provide me with a good example - Just by calling it “stagnant GDKP central” and that nobody but Era players care about Era, you give the impression to people who may be interested in joining that there are no Era players like me who have NEVER done a GDKP raid and care about the MMORPG aspect of the game.

Because there are a TON of people out there who also believe that losing progression sucks. If you chuckle at the thought of that, I choke at the thought of sending /x days played down the drain.

And before you get emotional, do not forget that it is you the one using a condescending tone towards Era. And it is you the one who feels the need to get at me.

Yeah, because I find stagnant, non-progressive WoW to be so antithetical to what WoW is and always was it is borderline offensive. It’s just I think nobody is actively against it, it’s more a disinterest. But I am glad you have a place to have fun in. I personally prefer playing the Classic cycle every 5-10 years because WoW is a game of progression for me, not getting full BiS and then doing it again on alt.

Having the option to repeat the cycles is something I am all for, as well as having the options to opt-out of cycles.

But not all people who like cycles, or new expansions, or patches are meta degenerates and bots, and not all Era players are GDKPers. In fact, I bet the majority of players in both versions of the game are just regular people trying to have a good time.

When I say people not wanting Era to succeed I refer to a chunk of forum posters who are tribalistic in their WoW-view. “My version is right, ergo yours must be wrong”. This also happened big time during the Kronos 3 versus Light’s Hope debate in pservers. To this day, there are players who have very strong opinions as to which one of the projects was best / sucked.

In any case, appreciate the response in good sport.
