Dunno what LC you are used to, but my guilds LC never do anything like you describe. Everyone gets a fair share.
Looks like most people are sleeping on epgp and itās sad ⦠the most fair loot system in my opinion . It creates a fair round robin , if you are active , you will get your loot no matter what .
We use āthatsmybisā lists pretty fair imo. We do prio people getting a 4 set if its a big upgrade so there is some minor council although itās usualy the players themselves that suggest the change in prio to benefit the guild. In preparation for SWP some loot was prioād to tanks and healers so we have a decent roster of more than 25 ready to go and wipe there
yall praising loot council but in reality gdkp is the best loot system in the history of loot systems
Its not often the case. It just happen to be the ones that get attention from people who had experience with that, crying on reddit and forums about it. Why would anyone mention their LC guild if itās just fine (which probably are the most) ?
Yet almost every guild recruitment page:
āwe are comprised of old school vanilla/tbc raiders etc etcā
Or
āThis guild was founded in original vanilla/tbc etc etcā
Iām not saying they are all lying but the game had defo lost a big part of itās magic, and you canāt get that back in an mmo you return to after 10+ years.
I try to avoid guilds like that
also
mythic raiding officers core
also
we help with weeky m+
etc etc
I donāt like EPGP,DKP stuff
all that i always avoid when i look for guild
Sounds like youāve played in bad guilds with divas.
Play in a guild with lads who all have progress in mind, as well as having a good time, and loot council works absolutely fine.
You having had bad experiences with it is quite evidently not indicative of everyone elseās experiences.
In the end thereās a bigger chance humans are flawed than systems. LC is extra sensetive to this, but a bad managed guild (in terms of loot) will (or should) implode sooner than later. At times I cant understand why people accept and enable these guilds/leaders/groups. A raid is 25 players after all - donāt accept it and they will have nothing to clear resets with. A guild that changes players all the time should be a red flag for everybody when looking for a new guild.
However, with the right group of players, even a āmisstakeā from time to time isnt a big thing. Like I said in a another thread, the best way to get loot fast is to keep playing with the same players, and sooner or later most players will have most things.
But for some people, being happy for others and patience isnt the name of the game. They rather have a chance on a high ticket item now than recive it guranteed next week.
āLeaders eat lastā is a great way to gain trust within the group, then nobody can say anything.
Oh I love when active raiders get stuff, an item on an active guildie is awesome since he will use it to carry me to easier boss kills in the future. What I canāt stand is socials/trials/players returning from long break expecting to get loot before core members. Worse still is when somebody gets several juicy pieces and just quits or stops having ātimeā for prevous tiers or the like.
Maybe because not every player has the same goals. Some people are just content with seeing the bosses go down, and if the price to pay for it is to see little to no loot, they donāt mind. Personally I was less sensitive to this when playing a DPS, but as a tank it sucks extra more to get less loot than others - to see, say, a Bloodmaw Magus-Blade given to a warlock while you still have Continuum Blade just because the warlock is an officer and youāre not. Especially when then Iām tasked with trying to hold aggro off of people like said warlock.
Personally, Iād rather be in a guild which is a bit further behind on progression but which gives me the tools to do my job.
The presumption doesnt have to be either early clears or fair loot. One could have both you know =)
For a old fox like me its pretty obvious tanks (threat) is the first celling that has to be raised, no matter many other factors. I wouldnāt be in a guild gearing a Warlock before a Tank, its a red flag regardless of loot system.
What I meant is that the opposite also works - you can have a guild where loot is distributed unfairly and the guild still manages to clear stuff.
A guild that gives threat generating item to a dps before a tank is patently insane and any sensible player should leave it on a spot unless there is a damn good explanation, and I even struggle to come up with a hypothetical scenario for when it may be warranted.
Iāve never seen a dps cry about a threat item going to tank either, at least within reason.
Iād agree if bots havenāt existed
Trials, socials, etc wont have prio on an item like that even if it helps their threat gain.
Literally that. LC prevents that from happening for atleast a 2 week period.
They can suck up the loot no one needs in that time period but no upgrades / bis over core members as there is a reason for why these people had no guild and that could have been simply guild jumping for gear. No one wants to waste progression gear on trials who leave in a week.
Imo dkp does that even better, i were in a guild with dkp a while ago and i remember not getting loot for about 3 weeks. Also it takes away the voting part of lc
I dunno, I just joined a guild with LC as their only method and I got the chest tier token from Illidan while another trial got the shoulders.
I didnāt check if the non trial raiders needed those pieces but the setup of the raid was to look at the trialsā performance and gear them up for Sunwell. Some are a bit further off while others (like me) can do the first 3 of Sunwell np in the gear weāre in.
It seemed very fair and it was a fun run. Itās a semi HC guild who is very serious about raiding and clearing Sunwell - though not a server first guild - but that had some problems with people leaving, as do all guilds I imagine.
So yeah there are instances of good guilds that use LC.
I donāt think many Burning Crusade guilds are doing this.
