Will i get ban if i login to my acc from another pc another IP another country as i have holiday incoming soon.
I often use another IP address but in the same country without any hiccups. You may have to jump through a couple of hoops before you can log in. Annoying yes. I think you will be able to do that.
Chances are, yes, though I think if you have an authenticator you may be OK, best bet I’d contact Blizzard beforehand
Get authenticator so you can prove it was you.
Yep, set up 2 factor authentication…^^ Authenticator and/ or SMS.
I have been switching between countries regularly before moving (GER-SWE) and while your account might get flagged for checking if it was you it’s easier with an authenticator. That’s just being asked for the code vs. the account getting a block you need to do a ticket/call for.^^
Generally they seem to recognize the new location after 1 or 2 times and don’t ask again.
I semi-regularly log in from two different countries and never had an issue
I do have an authenticator
If you go to Russia on holiday and login from siberian IP… I will ban you!
It might be easier if you have an Authenticator.
My account got locked once when I tried logging into the Forums from my work pc. I didn’t have an Authenticator at the time and I think it mentioned using this if from a different IP.
Wasn’t too hard to unlock it as I seem to remember although this was ten years ago or so.
As Llanlewen said
I think the best option to be safe is to contact Blizzard and ask.
My advice is that you don’t install Wow on a library PC and try and go yolo trollo mode there.
You will get caught.
(What Llanlewen said)
Should be as easy as setting up phone authentication.
I moved abroad and didn’t have any issues, just had to enter a sms code.
I believe that unless the interval between point A and B is not too little, nothing will happen as long as you can prove it is you and not some other party that uses your account with or without your consent.
If for example I log from Greece and then the system see in 15 min an IP from USA, then “something is not quite right”
Nobody cares from what IP or country you login. Its your account.
They will investigate only when someone sent a ticket for Stolen Account.
Be free to login from any PC/IP/Country.
Your account matters, not your PC or IP.
My friend got banned for 6 months for “Account Sharing” during the “MT banwave” he did swear he did not do AS to get boosted (i can’t verify that but, i mean, i know him since like 2012 and i don’t really see the point of lying since you are banned), he said tho that he used to log on other friends house cause they do play WoW together sometimes. Strange tho that his is the only account that got banned.
Also since Blizzard customer support is literal trash and Copy-Paste the same retarded thing without any non copy-pasted input, it is quite impossible to verify what they are considering suspicious and what could help you prove yourself clean.
I had “wow authenticator” on my phone and then I broke my phone and I just tried to login in my account and I removed my authenticator withou any passwords, keys or anything… So whats the point of this “authenticator” then? You can remove it whenever you want. Everyone who know your acc and pass can remove your phone auth… without using your phone.
Everytime i log in im in another country so i dont think so
Probably because you logged from a safe device.
I smell mage tower boost ban.
I’ve played all around my country, at friends houses, on holiday etc. I’ve never ran into a problem, just have to use the phone authentication.
I’m sure it’ll trigger something if you suddenly started playing from a completely different country though.
I regularly login from 3 different countries with 3 different computers. I’ve never had any issue, so I think you’ll be fine!
