Any ball or formal RP event for Alliance ?

imo just leave him to it, not RPed with him so my opinion is worth little tbf. While I think it may be a bit odd for a highly social DH to pop down to the local ball, it’s not my character so I can’t really dictate what he can and can’t do. If he wants to be the prettiest DH at the ball, let him, doesn’t mean everyone there will be chill with a horned glowy thing scowling in the corner, but if that’s what he wants to put his character through that’s his choice. But it is fair to point out that IC some people might have 21 questions for him when he rocks up.

‘leave him to it’, ‘let him’, etc. There is literally nothing I can do to stop him from RPing whatever, amigo.

I can however, criticize something that seems wacky. A 100% live and let live mentality is a good way to have the general quality of things go right down the drain.

Quality control is simply bae.

can confirm I hate dudflex, aeilmar, aeneon, dudflex, distantpeak, aerilen, and dudflex.

I do see where you’re coming from don’t get me wrong, I think it’s more he’s already on the hill and ready to die on it. So that’s why i’m of the opinion “let him walk on those coals if he really wants to”. I do think his experience at a ball would be easy with a different character concept, at least I know Professor Fitz would spend some time throwing a lot of questions his way about why he’s there.

Ah nice, i like it.

There’s two ball events coming up:

www.argentarchives.org/node/211371 - 19th October
www.argentarchives.org/node/231375 - 9th November
The second one is halloween themed so that’s fun!

Dunno why you’re all whinging at him and continuing the thread. Guy really can do what he wants and it’s not overly far-fetched for a DH to have a day off. They are a living humanoid who had a life once in the end. Leave him to it. He doesn’t want to change his idea.

Repetitive whinge isn’t really

in the end. It’s repetition and just nagging at someone.

You can find upcoming events through the mentioned threads, Argent Archives and shameless self plug AD Talks I do at the end of each month (naturally some appear in blind spots that I miss at times, like my own upcoming events with the night elf rally).

Onto the topic of a DH. Whilst they’ve recently been intergrated, or rather allied with both the Horde and Alliance, I also think it may be a bit odd for a Demon Hunter to appear at social events. Granted someone who threw a joke out, presented a good reason for it though and it could be to try pin point any demons in the crowd. Incase they’re up to anything malicious, which is nifty.

That being said. When it comes to smaller gatherings, groups and the sorts. I don’t see a problem with a Demon Hunter taking it easy, perhaps re-connecting with Kaldorei friends and family. Or re-visiting places from thier past. There’s essentially nothing wrong with that in my eyes, but naturally others might disagree.

You’re are a character that has made themselves into a weapon at the end of the day though, and to be used as a tool against those that’d oppose Azeroth or more in particular the Legion. With their recent defeat, the remnants of them. You do however have the bonus as a Kaldorei demon hunter, to have your more human side feel spite and hatred for the events that has occured recently towards your kin. Perhaps using your capabilities to combat against the Horde also?

There’s a multitude of roleplay and concepts that can arise for you as a demon hunter. For particular areas, it’s just a case of coming up with a reason as to why or how your character might be there. Otherwise others are right in saying that there are a multitude of other classes at your disposal that grant you more freedom your playstyle.

ok thank you for your input vaxir  now please stop derailing this discussion about DHs and their nature

It is though, DHs are summarised by becoming a weapon and spending the rest of their lives hunting and killing demons. They gave up everything for one thing, Vengance.

They HAD a life, but they gave it up to be a Demon hunter. Now they are no more than weapons of demon destruction.

They’ve sacrificed everything.

Let them have ONE day off

Inb4 Blizzard themselves puts some as dancers in a pub like those Void Elves.

Say sike right now!

You’re of course within your right to roleplay what you please, as an additional comment. So are others in critcising or just not involving themselves in the roleplay you’ve to offer. There are a multitude of people on the realm at the end of the day, so it’s really no loss.

BUT, although there’s no harm in being creative. I think there’s a general consensus on Argent Dawn that we prefer to stick relatively close or directly on the path that lore is presented (even if some of it isn’t that great at times).

Reasons why a Demon Hunter would go to a ball:

  1. A long lost friend invites him to reconnect with his more humane side and spend more time with him. Taking him away from battle and for one night trying to make him not be a demon hunter.

  2. Demons have infiltrated the ball and are planning to sacrifice everyone in the building to their new dark master, Unknownwarlock. The demon hunters are tasked to infiltrate the party and find the demons before it is too late. O.O

  3. Consumed by vengeance, the demon hunter knows that one of his greatest enemies will be attending the ball. He plans to attend the ball, wait for the right moment and then strike.

  4. A wealthy trader has come into possession of a powerful demonic artifact. He plans to have a silent auction at the ball. The demon hunter needs to blend in and find the artifact. He then needs to retrieve it at all costs.

  5. The demon hunter knows that Simon Blackberg will be there and he desperately wants to buy a potion from him.

Yeah, reading though the thread, I think there are a few reasons why a demon hunter would attend the ball.

I have never RPed with the OP, so I do not know him or what his intentions are. Perhaps we will see when he attends the ball if our speculations are right, or if we are terribly wrong.
