the fact that they dident out right ban multiboxing just the softwares that made it more common. feels like they want to take all the attention away from the disasterous shadowlands debacle

this ban is more of a publicity stunt then anything else. they could go back to singel tap nodes, would solve it instantly that system worked along time. but wait that would not make ppl happy eather.

Because it would lead to other problems. Phase/shard hopping comes to mind. With multi tap nodes you can at least dodge the ridiculous AH prices by farming yourself.

Then it’s a very costly one. There have already been refund requests for accounts multiboxers have purchased. It’s a loss of income… a big one.

How fair would it be to all of sudden after 16 yeas change the policy on this subject and ban everyone doing it right away. That’s not how any reasonable person does things. You first send warnings to people, inform them that broadcasting key presses is allowed anymore and they will be banned if they continue to do so. That way those peopel can stop.

Also of course they are banning the key broedcast software and not the multiboxing itself. It is the software that makes this kind of thing annoying to everyone else. Now to multibox you have to alt-tab between windows and control every character seperetly. This shouldn’t be banned. This kind of gameplay won’t let you easly run group of 40 druids and quickly gather herbs but it can be used to invite your own alts into your alt guild or make groups to share lockouts between alts.

Of course that policy change has to do with upcoming release of Shadowlands but not to divert the attention. It’s more to prepare new playground where key broadcasting multiboxing isn’t allow right for the start of a new expansion. New start free from thos multiboxing farmers combined with new levleing and world order after level squish. It was the perfect time to change that policy to maximize it’s benefits.

Nah,they waited new expansion to change TOS in order to avid possible lawsuits.
New expansion = new contract ,simply as that.

I think the simplest answer is the right one: it was a good decision for the company and the game as a whole.
