Fancied trying to level a character through Wrath Classic for some nostalgia but it seems I’ve left it too late. Wrath servers are going with the introduction of Cata Classic mid-May.
I don’t feel like just speed-running through the process and wanted to go through the old zones. I take it that may be a bit of difficult in the time frame?
Im currently level 58 on my main and yeah most of that was rushing.
Im literally rushing professions and levels now.
Can always wait to level in the new world
That’s what I was planning to do as well. Level pre-Cata and then level something else after the world revamp.
In fairness, it’s my fault for missing the boat. Just bad timing that I felt nostalgic now! I could try Vanilla Classic but I much preferred the changes made to the game in Wrath.
I think at this point, just decide if you wanna play Cata and next expansions or not. I canceled my sub and gonna wait until they make permanent Wrath or seasonal TBC & Wrath servers. Until then they can play Crapaclysm “Classic” - the expansion ppl quit at first place brough back lmao - this company can’t be saved…
Ha! Well, Cata is when I petered out a bit too, but I do want to try and go through what I missed from back then! Still have stuff to do in Retail but now I’m just annoyed at myself that I wasted the entirety of Wrath Classic!

Tbh i think there will be a resurgence of players in Era when cata launches as it will be the only game version with the old world
That’s my thought. I assume by “Era” you mean SoD or does that include Vanilla Classic too? I think that’ll be my best bet now for leveling pre-revamp. Still going to sting that I didn’t do it the “right” way but at least I’ll still be able to see all the Old World as it was!
Again, though, Wrath just had a lot of QoL changes I preferred over Vanilla! Such a shame to miss out - hopefully we do get some Wrath and TBC servers!

Hmmm… You may want to try SoD if this is the case. You wont get Northrend, DKs and some QoL and convenience features, BUT it includes a bunch of abilities from later expansions (and even some new ones) in the form of runes, and has other changes as well. Leveling is definitely much quicker, at least up to 25 - I returned to Era after p1 so I don’t know how the leveling is after 25 - I do think they have some XP buff or other.
Take any levels you can. Cataclysm Classic last patch is only 8 months away, so the whole Xpack would last no more than a year. If you want to see the old world there are always Classic Era or SoD around.
You should move this thread to the Wrath forums using the pencil next to the title as this forum is for Classic Era.
If you want to experience old school WotLK leveling then NOW is the time to level a new character because Cata is gonna change a lot of zones that makes the nostalgia feeling go away. You have like a month before Cata hits.

There are drastic changes coming in Cataclysm, but it does bring my favourite quest, punching Deathwing.
At least I found something to look forward to Cata - I will level goblin shaman.
I definetly recommend Season of Discovery wow classic. It has all the flavors that old classic had, but new skills make everything…better? Classes feel like they should feel and lots of drops have been changed to better.
